Brook continued to recover as the days wore on. She even managed to sit up in her hospital bed but it was clear that she was going to still need the Plasma bags since they contained the nutrients to rebuild bones. However, this was going to be the last day she would need to be laying in a hospital bed.

That day came as Brook was no longer reliant on plasma as she managed to regain some of her strength that she lost but it would still be far from sufficient to make sure she is going. The nurse came in as she had some good news for the girl.

"Well kiddo good news, you aren't going to be relying on any of us to take care of you since you're being discharged today." The Nurse began as she wanted to tell her. Brook was confused wondering why she was being released.

"Is there a reason behind it, I mean you've taken my plasma away as I was thinking, have I recovered enough to be released? I mean I still can't feel my legs." Brook told her as she was trying to find an answer to all of this. The Nurse looked at her as she began speaking on her behalf.

"Your arms should be strong enough to carry you but your legs are still going to be very weak so try getting some strength into your body one limb at a time. Also I got a little friend that is coming in to help you through." The Nurse told her as she was ready to get her out of the bed. Nonna soon appeared as she was carrying a set of crutches for her. Brook soon leaned up and out as she was getting ready to move around but being on a set of sticks designed to be your legs would feel awkward indeed. However, Nonna was going to make sure the girl would be able to use the crutches effectively.

'You're going to need these if you're going to get around if your legs are going to heal effectively. I'm Nonna, the head of the school is Katyusha and you're Brook?" Nonna finally introduced herself as she wanted to warm herself up to the new student. Brook soon began falling into her old habits but she would feel like she wanted to test Nonna.

"Да товарищ Нонна." Brook responded as she wanted to see if Nonna would respond to this. Nonna was surprised as she began speaking to see if the girl would really understand what she is saying.

"Ты умеешь работать на костылях?" Nonna asked as Brook got out of the hospital bed. She soon gripped the crutches as she got out of the bed. Brook felt uneasy as she wanted to say not really.

"Нет." Brook responded as she didn't know how to work them that well. Nonna looked at her, then smiled about it. She soon got her out of bed and onto the crutches as she knew she was going to help her out.

"Это нормально, мы сделаем это по одному шагу за раз." Nonna responded. She soon guided Brook along as she began moving the crutches if they were legs. One by one, they began to move as she began walking along. The right one went first and then the left one followed by right and then left. Nonna slowly walked alongside her as she was ready to catch her if she fell. She was getting the hang of it as she slowly moved.

Soon the two of them were walking along as they were chatting about stuff as Nonna was making sure that she had fought for the girl's right to be here.

"Так вы рады быть здесь?" Nonna asked as she was observing her using the crutches. Brook looked over as she was thinking of an answer to respond back with. She soon began speaking.

"Да, товарищ Нонна, Катюша была бы более чем рада увидеть, что меня нет рядом, интересно, какую программу она выберет для меня?" Brook responded as she knew she wanted to be looking forward to this as Nonna smiled and patted her head.

"Мы боролись за ваше право быть здесь, поэтому обязательно поблагодарите Товарища Катюшу." Nonna responded as she knew that getting the girl accepted here was going to be no easy task. Brook just looked at her as she nodded. She was going to find an opportunity to thank her comrade for having her accepted here.

"Да, я обещаю, что буду благодарен ей, когда у меня будет шанс." Brook responded as they continued down the hallway. Soon Katyusha was at the end as she wanted to remind the two of them of what the official language to speak in this school was.

"Nonna, Brook make sure you speak Japanese, the reader cannot understand what you two are saying." Katyusha reminded the two of them to speak in their native language as Nonna giggled as she simply replied:

"これは私の指揮官ですか?" Nonna asked as Katyusha was caught off guard. She didn't understand what Nonna was mentioning about. She soon spoke.

"I was talking about the language that most people read, please speak that language." Katyusha reminded them as she wanted to give her something for the girl in her crutches. Nonna turned as she began speaking to Brook.

"Sometimes it's pretty fun to mess with her." She whispered to her. Brook nodded as Nonna turned back to Katyusha. "So what is it that you brought for the new student I might ask." Katyusha looked at Nonna as she began to speak as she wanted to make sure that she was able to print out a schedule for the girl.

"Most of her day would consist of normal classes but seeing her skills, I think she could use another language since Saunders didn't provide her one. Based on the condition she'll be attending Physical recovery to try getting some use back into her muscles." Katyusha told Nonna what Brook's Schedule will be. Nonna looked at her as she began taking the papers.

"Very good commander, we should be taking this girl to her dorm as she needs some rest so she isn't on her crutches for the remainder of the day and with summer break in full swing, we should be taking it easy and start celebrating about this and invite family over. I wish I could keep an eye on the girl." Nonna told her as Katyusha turned to Brook who was trying to keep her balance. Katyusha looked at her as she wanted to welcome her.

"Welcome to Pravda sweetie." Katyusha greeted Brook. She soon got out the keys to open the new dorm up for Brook since the former had her hands on the crutches. She soon slid the keys inside as she soon pulled the door open. The dorm was pretty standard unlike the propaganda filled room of her old school, at least the room was clean and all that mattered. Brook soon hobbled over as she soon sat on the bed as Nonna and Katyusha walked over.

"Anyways, here's the school uniform you will be wearing from his point onward. But since you're still in your bandages, I'll come over to help you until your injuries heal." Nonna told her as she soon began dressing the girl up. It took a good few minutes to get Brook fully dressed since Nonna was being careful around the girl's injured limbs. Soon a Black vest went over as it was to compliment the uniform quite nicely. Katyusha smiled at her but her smile quickly faded as the girl didn't have a whole lot of hair so might as well try to cover it up. Katyusha had the perfect solution for that. She got out a brown Ushanka as she put it onto the girl's head. Brook looked up as she felt the chestnut color fur hat as it seemed comfortable on her even on a hot summer day such as this. She soon handed her the papers as Nonna began explaining what was going to happen.

"Each of the students in Pravda will receive two programs but if you are bored and good with time management you can expand it to three or possibly four. The clubs meet from once a week to everyday as we definitely have some programs that run all the time like our Tankery team. But based on your records and your past, we feel like we should limit you to just one program for now and add the second one on when the new school year comes around." Nonna told her as she wanted to give the girl some time to decide over what her one elective will be for the course of now. Soon the two students leave as they wanted to give her some time to decide. Brook feeling exhausted for that one day decided to get changed from her uniform as she was too tired to do anything else for today. She soon changed into the nightwear which was extremely comfortable for her as she soon laid down, pulling the covers over her head, she drifted off to sleep as she was wondering what the next day was going to bring for her.

Soon the next morning came as Nonna went to check on Brook wondering if she had made her mind up. She soon opened the dorm up as she looked in. Brook had already gotten up as she was waiting on Nonna to put on her uniform for her. Nonna looked at her as she began speaking.

"So how did you sleep last night?" Nonna asked. She soon grabbed the girl's uniform clothes as she began putting them her seeing how she wanted to be careful around the girl's legs. Brook began speaking to Nonna.

"I slept okay now that I have someone behind me to defend against the monsters that might be coming after me." Brook responded as Nonna continued to dress her.

"That's good, listen if you have any problems. Report them to me and Katyusha and we'll see what we should be able to do about them. So what program did you decide to choose since I hoped you chose something moreover gentle for your spirit." Nonna was wondering what she decided to choose for her programs. Brook looked at her as she began speaking.

"When I was at Saunders, I wanted to join the Music program but I was denied as I was forced into the Sensha-Do program which it still haunts me to this day. I was hoping that I wouldn't be denied here like I was back in my old school." Brook replied as she decided to choose the same program she first chose when she went to Saunders. Nonna looked at her.

"Katyusha won't deny you for your choice since Tankery isn't for everyone despite everyone saying it is. Some students get messed up if something goes wrong and they get blamed for it. So commander Katyusha wouldn't be denying your request but if you manage your time accordingly since you get less classes later on you can do about 3 programs your junior and senior year. But this is a start." Nonna sighed as she put on Brook's Ushanka as she helped pull her onto the crutches to get her around the school. Brook nodded as she began to move around on the crutches as it was something she was going to have to get used to. Nonna soon remembered something as she knew that the girl was going to be very happy about it, if she attended. "Oh yeah we also are going to hold a traditional party with actual music, dresses and food much like something fancy, which you will enjoy a lot if you decide to come." Brook seemed interested as she had never really been invited into a party like this before as she was considering it but soon realized that she had nothing to wear.

"I'm pretty sure I don't have anything I can go in that would seem to be like a down street level peasant. I'm sure someone could lend me one of their stuff so I can attend." Brook told Nonna as they walked along. Nonna looked at her as she knew that she had a few friends for that.

"Don't worry, we can get you one to be made, also you probably need to wear a special boot on that broken foot of yours if you want to dance with us." Nonna also told her as she needed to do something about her foot if she was going to impress her commander Katyusha. Brook nodded as they went to go find the girl something to wear.

Things were getting brighter for her but the road there was still going to be a long one.

[A/N]: The next few chapters aren't going to be really anything but Brook getting adjusted to her new school and meeting the people there. Also she is invited to a party but it isn't the cookouts Saunders would host but something much more relaxing. Dunno what they should be serving there or what they should be using might as well look up parties from the 19th to early 20th centuries before the 1st world war. Probably would be interesting to find out.

Also let's see if we can hit 1,000 total views before the end of this month or at least somewhere close to that as well as some more reviews will be nice since I noticed the spike in activity so I want to get that ball rolling again and hopefully this will not only be the longest story I've ever did but also the best.
