Saoirse Dragon POV

I wake up and see mum and dad are planning to ship me off for my safety but I won't go. What would stop the dragons from attacking mum and dad if I'm not here?

The dragons come back but instead of killing us, every dragon bows to me. And I have to ask myself am I my ancestor? I bow back and they purr and nuzzle me like a hatchling.

I see one is hurt and go and get the paste and put it on her, my lip wobbling as I don't want to cause her pain.

''Please mighty dragons, stop attacking the human race. We saved as many animals as we could and bred them. Ligers, tigers, Dire wolves, anything.'' I tell the dragons.

The dragons see the other reason I am begging. My mother is pregnant and unknown to me and others they agree to hunt big animals as they had also seen my too thin state.

I suddenly get a flash of visions of being with dragons and I am disoriented and don't know what's real and what's not. In all these visions I see the leader, Onyx and feel that we had a sisterly bond. But why am I getting these visions?

The dragons leave and take tigers with them for their meal. I get ready for dinner and I don't know what will happen tonight as someone had seen me talking with the dragons and thinks me a witch and will steal me away from my family in the dead of night.

I go to bed, hoping to see the dragons again not knowing I may need their help soon. The next time I awaken, I find myself tied up and in a cell. I yell to be freed and I see two different men come near here with one trying to hide what he's done I guess as he tries to block the line of sight of the other but it's too late.

''What have you done Eddie? You'll get us killed!'' the man says.

''Look. I was collecting food and I then seen the witch talking to the dragons. She'll burn at dawn.'' Eddie says and I'm scared.

''Like hell you will! You already wanted to go to the crops early before you remembered the Dragon family and they were only named that because of their ancestor! I won't let you murder a child!'' the other man says before he's thrown into a cell.

Dawn

Dawn comes and Eddie comes with two others and drags me to a pyre.

''Please let me go. Please!'' I sob and it goes on deaf ears as they tie me to the pyre and start talking, bringing the other man out but his hands are tied.

''This child is a witch and must atone for her sins and so the fire will purify her soul. No child should befriend a dragon.'' the man named Eddie says and sets the pyre on fire.

''ONYX!'' I call out and hopes she hears me as the fire is licking at my legs, burning me. Onyx appears and consumes the fire as the others somehow shred the ropes without hurting me.

An emerald dragon lands and lets me get on her back, crying as I am terrified of others now.

''Please don't hurt the kids.'' I say as the children wanted them to stop everything and were throwing stones at the bad men. The dragons agree and the only ones they terrify are the ones who kidnapped and tried to burn me as they seen the same kid, now man had been yelling at the others to stop.
