Hello! This is a bit of a different chapter, but nonetheless, it's important. Enjoy!

~headline: headlines upon headlines~
…
When Dionysus Vino finds out about the news he's both confused, and overjoyed. The man lives for the money, and that's what this is doing. Giving him more money. He sits in his office, full on beaming at the Magazine in front of him— a tabloid, with the headline: "Percy Jackson Flee's His Own Meet and Greet For Unknown Girl." Although this was unexpected, it's perfect. The idea that another girl is in the picture— even more, that Percy left his own event, will be over the news for days, and it'll not only heighten Percy's popularity, but it also help sell even more copies of his album. Dionysus smiles, because if there's anything he wants, it's for people to buy Percy's album, no matter how bad it might be. People will clamor over it, curious to see why he left his meet and greet, if Calypso and him are still together, and even more rebuttals. As easily seen, he's very pleased. Things are all falling into place, and soon enough, he'll be able to discard the reminisce of the proof that may remain.
This will create controversy, scandal. And there's nothing more Dionysus likes than a good scandal, of course, one that doesn't affect him. One where he isn't the villain. He's done this plenty of times before, because of course, it's the money he wants. It's the money that's important. And sure, to Percy, maybe his image is important, but to the world it isn't. To Dionysus it isn't. He's not ashamed to say that he's been the start of many of those scandals. He's not ashamed to say that he's called the paparazzi, or media on him a few times. And fine, he's still a minor, but soon enough, that'll change, and he'll have nothing to worry about. If he can just keep the act up, the act of him being a cocky playboy for a little bit longer, he'll have the rest wrapped around his finger. Because all in all, Percy doesn't matter. He'll be relevant for the next couple of years, and then fall to the wayside. But who will still be here, in power? Dionysus. And he'll have credibility, and fame, and everything he needs. His career will flourish even more, and then the next idol will come, and then the cycle will repeat.
It's not sadistic, it's true. Fame isn't permanent. No one will remember, even Dionysus, eventually. But they'll remember him more than they remember Percy Jackson. Dionysus knows, somewhere in his mind, that what he's doing isn't completely right, knows that yes, it's extremely faulty, and he could get caught at any moment, but to truly achieve his goals, he needs to take a risk. He's willing to take risks. So far, they haven't cost him anything, except for possibly, slight distrusts. He's the kind of person who can frame himself in multiple different ways, and for now, he just needs to seem un-suspicious. Stupid. Like he couldn't possibly be the perpetrator of this all.
He smiles. It's time to make a call. An important call— one that will help determine the future, and one that will keep him in charge, keep him in power, for the rest of this.
Dionysus picks up his cell phone, and taps against the screen, pulling a number out from memory. The phone rings twice, and then it picks up. "Atlas," he smiles, schemingly into the phone. "Could you pull some strings for me?"
"What do you need, Dionysus?" Atlas's gruff voice comes through the speaker.
Dionysus smiles. He can't let anyone find out what he's doing, and the most important part, he can't tell Percy. They need to have enough hold over the boy, so that he can't quit on them, can't leave. "Have you read the headlines?"
"The ones that have to do with my daughter, yes." Atlas replies. Of course. The man is too overprotective to look out for anyone else. He also won't see what's coming, and Dionysus can easily utilize his resources for benefit. This is great. And his daughter— well, she was a good tool. But now that this mystery girl has come into the picture, she might be a better one. Dionysus still doesn't know her significance to Percy, or, if she even has significance at all. All he knows is that she'll create a stir, and a stir, is certainly what they need.
He nods, "so then you must know what we have to do."
"And what's that?" Atlas sounds over it, but Dionysus is too excited to care.
"Ah," Dionysus releases, "you know how you said Percy could just… disappear?" He smiles, in remembrance. It's not that he wants Percy to disappear, now at least, he just needs something to hold over the boys head. Something to use against him.
Atlas pauses. "Of course."
"We need to hold something over his head," Dionysus probes, leading him along. "And you know how those two connect?" He implies, because saying it outloud, straight forward, could be detrimental.
Atlas sighs. "Clearly. I'll see what I can do."
"Thanks a lot. Buh-bye!" Dionysus hangs up, and then turns into the mirror by his side. I am in control, he says to himself, and then looks back at the tabloid, reading the article over again. There's a small mistake that Percy made. Well, a mistake for him and that mystery girl. He said the name of her blog— he hasn't heard of it before, it's probably small in meaning, but now, he thinks, it'll be more meaningful.
Although it's late at night, and he really should be heading home, he opens up his computer, and types in "Athens Acropolis, blog," in the search bar. Several results come up, but he taps the first one, and sees a small little blog. He scrolls through the post, and sees all these comments, from people who found out about the place from the magazines, or headlines, or articles. Some of them are supportive, but the overwhelming majority are rude. He almost feels bad for the girl. Almost. What this is doing, is continuing to perpetuate Percy, and that's a good thing, for him at least.
The girl probably will close everything off, by the next day. She'll see what's happened, and turn it all off, take the posts away, turn off comments, whatever. It's happened to many people who have blown up in such a short amount of time. So he takes a couple of screenshots, just to remember it by. Then, once he's done, he saves them to a harddrive, taking them off the computer, and onto something that's more remote, something that people aren't likely to see.
This may not be illegal, but Dionysus sure as hell doesn't want Percy, or anyone except for Atlas, maybe, to see. He stuffs the harddrive into his brief-case, grabs his wallet, keys, and notepad, sparing one last look at his desk, and the tabloid, before leaving the office, with a grin on his place. Everything is clicking into place.
Once he's absent, the tabloid, still, lays there on his desk, waiting to be seen, waiting to be read. It sits on top of a stack of papers, next to the computer stand Dionysus never uses, because it hurts his fingers and hands to lean up at that angle.
~headline: percy jackson flee's his own meet and greet for unknown girl~
…
The LA express, hopes to give you current news, as soon as possible. With today's issue, that word, current, certainly applies. Just earlier today, Percy Jackson was spotted, fleeing his own meet and greet. He bursted out of the exit door, into a room full of fans, and reportedly pushed them through, with even muttering an apology. Reporters say that he was going to find a girl, most likely one who had left just before he exited the room. Once out of the convention center, he was found by a large group of reporters, who asked him questions, though he tried to push past them too. In the end, he was confronted by one key reporter from the express, and gave some quick answers.
When our reporter asked him where he was going, he muttered something about a girl, losing her phone. They continued to prod more and more about this girl, until he finally relented, and told them he met from the blog she writes, called, "Athens Acropolis." After saying this, he was able to flee the scene, chasing after the assumed girl. However, it seems he did not find this individual, and instead, was picked up by a dark black car and driven away from the convention center. After this, the meet and greet slowly pettered, with only his girlfriend, Calypso Atlas there. Here's what a couple of attendees, who didn't get to meet Jackson, have to say.
Charlotte Roberts, a sixteen year old fan, told the Express: "It's just sad, since I spent like three hours in line to meet him, just to see Calypso Atlas. I mean, she's cool, and I'm a fan, but I really only came to see him."
An older fan, Clancy Gray, says, "my family and I just wanted to meet the damn guy, and then he just runs away? It's irresponsible. He needs to figure out how to control himself."
Percy Jackson, who is currently seventeen, has been the subject of several other small scandals. Although he's underaged, and still considered a kid, many say that someone in the spotlight like him, should be able to control himself. A fan, who chooses to stay anonymous, speaks, "I don't know what happened to him, but I do know from interviews that he loves him fans, so it must have been for a good reason. I'm disappointed, but I don't hold it against him."
Even so, many others don't have kind words to say about it all. One Youtube video was uploaded by an individual who recorded the event outside, which currently has over five hundred thousand views, and many of the comments are not so kind, talking about Jackson's horrible behavior, while also taking the chance to throw insults at his music. As we can see, right now, there's a pretty equal balance between hatred and understanding, but Jackson himself has not responded at all, so we sit, and wait for his explanation. All and all, calling this a mistake is a generous depiction of the event, but it does leave us to wonder; who is this mystery girl, and what is her significance to Percy Jackson? We've identified the blog that she's the author of, but there aren't many hints about who she is, where she's from, or anything really. But, as we've learned from situations like this, only time will tell.
Feel free to let us know what you think of the situation, or, if you have any information on it, email LAexpressnewsreport .
…
Piper Mclean doesn't know what to think about the entire situation. She's already dropped Annabeth home, and the driver is nearing Piper's house. As it gets closer and closer, Piper wonders how things have changed for Annabeth— and also, how the hell does she know Percy Jackson? She's just a tiny bit irritated at the entire situation, because although she had a nice time talking to Calypso, she wishes that she could have had a least a little bit of time to talk with Percy. It's not a selfish request at all, and she knows this. Even if it was just a minute. She knows that it's not Annabeth's fault, and she didn't expect any of this to happen, but she really did dominate anything.
She and Calypso had a nice chat about her work, and a tiny bit about Tristian Mclean, and she tried to look happy, complacent, but it was hard. At one point, Calypso spared her an understanding look, and tapped her lightly on the shoulder, as if she understood.
The thing is, Piper likes Annabeth. She's a good friend. Yeah, she can be a little earnest, and at first, Piper wasn't sure how she felt about her, but now, she knows that she genuinely likes her. Annabeth is understanding, and kind, and knows how to make her feel better. She's found herself opening up a little bit more, and that's a good thing, she thinks. It's hard to do, especially since all her life she's been scared of cameras, the paparazzi, and the media overall. Now, she feels like she can show who she is, speak her truth, and not have to worry about it being sold out to some lame, cheap, media outlet. It's happened before— that's why she's so concerned about it.
The car pulls into her home's ridiculously long driveway, and the gate doors open, to reveal a mansion. Her father's extremely rich for all of the movies that he's done, the press, a lot of things, and although Piper is glad that she has so much luxuries, it does feel excessive sometimes. The car goes to park, and Piper exits, slamming the door behind her. She feels for her phone, and then takes it out, going to sit down on one of the benches by her home. She goes directly to the news, to see if anything happened after the meet and greet and…
Holy motherfucking shit.
Each and every one of her suggested articles are about Percy Jackson. Titles talking about how he left his meet and greet to find a mysterious girl? Things about how he was trying to return her phone.
Oh no.
Piper almost forgot. Annabeth dropped her phone at the beginning of the entire thing, and she must have forgotten to pick it up. She calls it, just to make sure, and yeah, it's not picking up. But Percy Jackson must have it, right? So maybe it's out of charge, or something.
Holy shit, Annabeth must be freaking out right now. Piper's freaking out right now. She clicks onto one of the headlines, and reads it through.
~headline: who is this mysterious girl that caused Percy Jackson to leave his own meet and greet?~
...
By now, this has been heard by many other news outlets, with no answer at all from Percy, Calypso, or the said girl. All we know is that Jackson was going to return to a girl's phone. Why didn't you hand it to security? You may ask. Well, no ones quite sure of that. Some have speculated it might be an affair, or maybe just a friend. We don't know a lot about this mysterious girl, but here's what we have collected.
Number one: We know the name of this girls blog. Percy Jackson slipped this, when confronted by a couple of paparazzi members. The blog's name is "Athens Acropolis," and she writes about Percy Jackson, Greek History, and every-day pop culture things.
Number two: She's Jackson's age. From the bio on her blog, it says that she's a senior in high school, though the school is not specified. She says that she's a fan of Percy Jackson, and all things greek, hence the name, "Athens Acropolis."
Number three: Just scrolling through her blog posts, you can see that she indeed does write a lot about Percy Jackson. But it's not entirely what you'd think. Her posts include brutal criticism of Jackson's music, while also referencing how he's changed and shifted because of years of fame. Fans speculate that perhaps, he found her through a blog, and perhaps, like a romance novel, began talking anonymously. Again, nothing has been confirmed, and this is highly unlikely, coming from the idea that this is a theory coming from fans.
Number four: She does live in California. It's not clear where, but she does specify she lives in the state. There are no shown pictures of her on her blog, so we have no clue what she may look like, and no one specifically spotted her exiting the meet and greet at all, so there's no clues other than that.
As said, this is a serious story that has circulated the internet, causing memes, fanfiction of Percy Jackson and this mysterious girl to be made, but beneath that all, there is one big, undeniable fact that many can't reason through: Calypso Atlas. They were confirmed to be a couple not long ago, and since then, have been seen on each other's Instagram, and a date. Has this mystery girl gotten in the way of them, or is it strictly platonic? Has Percy Jackson blatantly cheated, or is something bigger going on?
Jackson's management, and Jackson have not commented on this situation, nor has Calypso Atlas or her father, the head of Atlas Managing. This story is still pending.
…
Thalia Grace doesn't know how she comes across the news post, but she finds it, just after a conversation with Reyna, a now very close companion of hers. She's scrolling through the news, when she comes across something about Percy Jackson, leaving his meet and greet. Thalia was never into Percy Jackson like Annabeth was. She's always listened to heavy metal, punk, and stuff like that. Annabeth was always the one who raved about his voice. She was the one writing blog-posts about him on the weekly. Thalia and Luke would always tease her about it, but Annabeth didn't care. She had a passion for music, and passion for Percy Jackson, and no one was going to stop her.
Thalia loves her for it. She thinks that if Annabeth likes Percy Jackson, she can like Percy Jackson. She's able to sit through her conversations, and although she's extremely irritated at the girl right now, she knows that Annabeth went to that meet and greet, so if something bad happened to her, then she wants to know about it.
Because ever since Annabeth told her about this "Pylos" guy, she's had a sneaking suspicion that he could be, or be associated with Percy Jackson, in some slimy way. And the fact that Annabeth can't see that, the fact that she won't see that, makes Thalia feel sick to her stomach, because she sincerely feels like Pylos, whoever he is, could be playing her. You can never trust the internet, even if you think you can. You always have to be careful, and being completely honest, Annabeth has been anything but careful.
Cautiously, Thalia taps onto the post, worried that her suspicions will be confirmed. Although she's annoyed at Annabeth, she still cares about her, of course, and if something bad happens, she needs to be the first to check on her. Because Luke sure as hell won't. The post loads for a while, and when it finishes, her shoulders relax, and she begins to read the post.
And soon, her suspicions have been confirmed. Because— because that's Annabeth's blog. She also can't contact her now, because she's lost her phone too. Goddamnit, this isn't good. She really, really, hopes that Annabeth's okay. Her anger slowly slips away, turning into fear.
~headline: percy jackson and the meet and greet: jackson's latest scandal~
…
Earlier this morning, Percy Jackson was found fleeing his meet and greet for a mysterious girl, later identified as the blogger of Athens Acropolis. Athens Acropolis identifies itself as a hotspot for everything that has to do with culture, Greece, music, ect. It has a multitude of followers, but now, has been completely ravaged by fans and haters, since Percy Jackson revealed the name. Jackson was caught trying to return this girl's phone, but instead, was caught by the paparazzi. We are led to assume he still has the phone now, but it seems the two are split up. To add to all of the drama: Calypso Atlas, Jackson's girlfriend, was left alone, once all this occurred, and we've heard nothing from her regarding the situation.
All in all, today has been a drama fest, and it is very likely that more is to come, considering circumstances. We still haven't heard Percy's personal response, his management, or Calypso.
…
Luke Castellan is scrolling lazily on his phone, when he sees a news article about Percy Jackson, and a meet and greet. He isn't surprised. The lucky bastard's famous, has some many people obsessed with him. Annabeth's obsessed with him. She has an entire blog series that was dedicated to him. He's not sure if she continued or not. He's been trying to avoid her, and her stuff. It hurts him to look at it, reminds him of what could have been. Plus, that caused Thalia to leave him too, probably for his stupidity, so now he's all along, with a bunch of fake friends. Friends that probably won't do him any good, but help him pass the time. They do stupid high school shit, like stupid high schoolers do, and honestly, Luke has enjoyed himself a tiny bit. But he misses them. He really does.
When he and Thalia got into an argument though, it was all over, and he knew that there was no going back. There isn't a them anymore. There's just Thalia, singular, Luke, singular, and Annabeth, singular.
Something strange possesses him, and he taps onto the article. It loads, and as Luke reads through it, his heart drops. Because— because that's Annabeth's blog, and this is really bad. He wants to reach out to her something, but he knows he can't. He knows that he's created a rift between them, he doesn't know how to breach it. He guesses he'll have to watch this entire situation evolve, in terror.
~headline: mysterious girl and the meet and greet— percy jackson's latest screw-up~
…
Well ladies and gentlemen, Percy Jackson has done it again. Another week, another scandal, another news story. This time, it involves him fleeing his meet and greet for a girl. And not one he even knows, or that the media knows. A random girl, who also, coincidently, owns a blog (Athens Acropolis, linked here) which consistently talks and occasionally trashes him. To make matters worse, Jackson already has a girlfriend. My, my, what a story where shaping up for, it seems this one will be something of the ages, and I think a lot of us all have pop-corn in front of us, so we can watch.
…
Percy Jackson hates the media with a burning passion. What they're doing to him— what they're doing to Annabeth is horrible. It's like they have no hearts. And each time he sees an article come out— some even directly link her blog, like they're trying to get people to hate on her, he feels another stab at the heart. He likes to think that he doesn't care what people think, but… but this isn't about him anymore. It's about her now, and he can't— he can't let these people do this.
He has to do something. The problem is, he's not sure what he can do. He's sent her tons of messages, to no avail, and now, it seems she's blocked comments and private messages. It's probably not too long until she earesase her blog posts. It feels like this is all his fault— it is all his fault, and he just feels so weak, so small.
And now, he wants to cry, because the first time he met the girl of his dreams, he had to screw it all up. More than ever, he wishes he could have just kept his cool, and not left that meet and greet. This is a disaster.
…
~false knowledge is worse than ignorance~
I had like a strangely, really really fun time writing this chapter. It was nice to take a pause from writing stuff in Percy and Annabeth's perspectives, and although this chapter was a little bit different, I hope you enjoyed it the same. Leave a review! Lmk what you think, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Stay safe and healthy! Until the next chapter!
