Not a song fic, AU, now to the story.
How did it came to this you might ask, as Naruto sat over a hill top watching the place he was housed under till he was sixteen, where he was swiftly kicked out without a second thought.
While he had nothing against the other children in the orphanage, his care takers were another thing as he felt satisfied knowing that their lively hoods are finally up in flames.
And they continue to do so as Naruto had been sitting at the same spot watching the place burn for 3 days now, and yet the fires don't seem to die, his former caretakers and the children still stand there just watching as well, and there was still no sign of the fire department coming.
Wonder what Sasuke's up to, asked Naruto as he began to lie back down on the field knowing nothing was probably was going to change and yet he didn't care.
Didn't care how much time would pass with nothing happening, didn't even care how much time would pass in general, to Naruto nothing mattered to him as he stared aimlessly into the skies that didn't even seem to set himself.
Eventually his silence came to the end when he heard the steady paced footsteps of someone walking down the street.
Sitting up, he saw a teenage girl carrying a bouquet of roses in her hands, as she wore an unzipped red hoodie sweater, a red and black plad skirt with torn stockings underneath, boots and a silver cross hanging over her black t-shirt.
Well she's new, thought Naruto as he was ready to lay down, before he heard the sound of a car racing down the road, followed by the sound of glass shattering against the pavement and the girl yelping in fear.
Sitting back up, Naruto saw that the girl was almost hit by a glass bottle as the driver from the car continued to speed down the road.
"Hey" shouted Naruto to the driver, but they didn't stop, which mattered not to Naruto as he went and met the girl to see if she was alright.
"Hey are you ok" said Naruto as she turned to meet him, "Yeah, I'm fine" she said before both looked back out on the road where the driver was already out of sight.
"That dude was an asshole" said Naruto, "Tell me about it" said Ruby before both turned to face each other again.
"So any idea what's happening to that place over there" asked the girl in regards to the still burning orphanage as Naruto decided to play stupid, "No idea" said Naruto.
"Has anyone tried calling the fire department" asked the girl, "I want to say yes since that place has been burning for like 3 days now" said Naruto, "Wait, did you say 3 days".
"Yup, but hey what do I know" Naruto said as he stopping thinking and or caring about it given he's been there for the place to burn down.
"Maybe we should call them ourselves" said the girl, "Be my guest though I'm pretty sure something's up" said Naruto.
"You're telling me" said the girl as she stared down at bouquet of flowers she had in her hands.
"So what's with the flowers" asked Naruto, "Oh I was off to lay these to rest over my mother's grave" said the girl.
"That's nice" Naruto said with a smile, "Thank you and hey if you got nothing better to do, want to keep me company" asked the girl.
"Sure thing, names Naruto by the way" said Naruto, "And I'm Ruby" she said before Ruby continued to lead them to the local grave.
Once there, Naruto actually got witness the sentimental words exchanged between Ruby and her mother, granted he did zone out, out of courtesy mind you, but was left wondering to himself would he go out of his way to do something like that if he knew who his parents were and would they do the same thing for him.
Sure Naruto grew up and watched those orphaned movies where it's always revealed the parents had their reason, but this wasn't a movie, and Naruto was certain that they ditched him out of mercy, caused they'd never give him the time of day.
Though these thoughts were put on hold when Ruby came back to greet him face to face with her wiping her tears away.
"Thank you for joining me" said Ruby, "It was nothing, really" Naruto said with a warm smile to read the grave that simply read 'Summer Rose'.
"I bet you missed your mom" asked Naruto, "Not really, she was kinda a bitch to me throughout my life" said Ruby as this surprised Naruto to hear something that heavily contradicted her actions.
"Then why go through all this" asked Naruto as Ruby let out a sight and closed her eyes before answering.
"Cause it was time for me to let all the emotions I had of her, good or bad, go so I can finally move on, you know what I mean" said Ruby, "No I don't know really" said Naruto.
"What, you never talked to your parents" asked Ruby, "Never could on account that I was an orphan my whole life to a bunch of bastard care takers" said Naruto.
Hearing this and realizing that the place Ruby had met Naruto was indeed an orphanage that was set on fire, got Ruby thinking.
"Hey, Naruto you wouldn't happen to know what really started the fire at that orphanage now, do you" asked Ruby as Naruto was kinda hoping for this to happen.
Waiting for someone to ask him this question, be it a cop in a police car, someone he knew who spotted him, or anyone really.
And he did, when the person he was waiting for was there at the turn as he was waiting to let them know the it was he who was responsible.
"Sigh, I can't wait to burn it to the ground" said Naruto as his choice of words while confusing, confirmed to Ruby's suspicions about Naruto for burning down that orphanage.
"But why" asked Ruby as Naruto knew the reason and how many series of events lead him to do something like how he did with no remorse or seconds thought.
"It's a long story" said Naruto as a small breeze flew over them as Ruby stood there waiting to hear what Naruto had to say.
So I'm going to end things here as I realize that it's been a long time since I did anything related to Naruto or RWBY crossover, more so a Naruto, Ruby, and LINKIN PARK crossover, which if any of you are interested can just click and search up on my name and go through my written story history, where you can find a certain story called One More Light.
With that in mind I don't intend for this one to be as big as One More Light, which isn't my main goal since the goal and message I want to share in this story is being able to forgive, let go, and move on as these are also important lessons in life.
Anyways till next time, be sure to fave, follow, and leave a review as I continue on this new project.
This has been your Humble Narrator Tobi Yaza.
