Ruby was at a near loss of words that she could be with her sister again, as both stood there in the center of the temple hugging.
"It's so good to see you sis" said Ruby, "It's good to see you too" said Yang before they finally pulled away.
"I've got so much to ask you, but first I'd like you to meet Naruto, hey Naruto" said Ruby as she turned to see that the blonde and his friend were no longer behind them, but had already walked towards a corner of the temple, behind a pillar.
"No worries kid, in fact I preferred if it was just the 2 of us talking to each other right now" said Yang as Ruby could tell she was going to say something upsetting.
"Yang, what's wrong" asked Ruby calmly, "Well, how do I put it" said Yang as she began to rub the back of her head, trying to find the right words without upsetting her baby sister.
"Shit, they really didn't give me enough time here now did they" said Yang out loud as she began to grimace, "Yang you're not making sense, who didn't give you enough time to be here" asked Ruby.
"Honestly, I don't know who, all I remember was talking to this voice, and before you say god, it wasn't, at least it didn't sound like him" said Yang.
"What did the voice say, what did they tell you exactly" asked Ruby as she grew more scared and concerned by the second, which pained Yang.
"Damn it, I guess there's no easy way to put this, so I guess I'll come out with it already. Ruby, I'm dead" stated Yang which shocked Ruby in silence.
"I know you probably didn't want to hear that, but you gonna have to in order to understand why I'm here right now, but also cause I'll be gone shortly after" said Yang.
"But why" asked Ruby, "Because I'm here to help you in order to move on, though they did say you've already done that needs to be done and whenever you're ready you can move on" said Yang.
"Move onto where though" asked Ruby as she was utterly confused, "Where else but heaven, that's where me and pretty boy over there came from, and if I had to guess your blonde friend there will be going as well" said Yang.
It was confusing to take in all this information to say the least, especially since this was the first time they've talked since forever.
Not one to let her sister have a mental break down, let alone go catatonic, Yang placed both hands on her shoulder to get her sisters attention.
"Ruby I know this is all confusing and a lot to take in, but understand that there's nothing to fear, and if you need some time to think and get your thoughts in check, you're more than welcome to stay here as long as you like" said Yang with a reassuring smile, as this did the trick to calm Ruby down.
As Ruby began to relax, she noticed that her sister had her arm back as she looked at it, before turning back to see Yang who had the most cheekiest smile that only Ruby was familiar with.
"I know right, apparently once I died I was made whole again and let me say it feels good to feel my finger tips with my fingers again" said Yang as she played with her fingers and put on a faux villainous smile, which got Ruby to giggle.
"So Yang how did you, well you know" asked Ruby, "Die? How else but trying to kill those fuckers who murdered my baby sister in front of me, which you know hindsight is only 20/20" said Yang as she began to frown over that memory, before her face began to crack.
"Yang" said Ruby with concerned, "Shit, guess it's true what they say that frowning can cause a beauty like me to get real ugly, real quick" Yang said cooly before she put on her signature smile, result in more cracks in her face and bits of dust to fall.
"Yang, what's going on" asked Ruby as she began to worry, "Nothing to worry about, I said all that I needed to say, now it's time for me to go again" said Yang as more cracks appeared and her just returned armed had turned to dust.
"Really" Yang said sarcastically as she looked into the skies unimpressed as Ruby ran up to hug her sister as she silently began to sob.
"Hey now, no worries kid I'm just going to back up in heaven, waiting for you whenever you're ready to go" said Yang as Ruby didn't say anything and digged her head deeper into her chest and continued to cry.
Like an army, falling
One by one, by one
Like an army, falling
One by one, by one
Yang continued to sing to Ruby in order to soothe her pain, by singing the very same words her squad mates sang during those nights where she herself was scared for what could happen to her.
Ruby wouldn't let go as she held her sister as long as she could and just before Yang was gone for good, Ruby said these last words.
"I love you" she said as Yang let out a single tear, "I love you too" said Yang before finally turning to dirt and dust, leaving Ruby sitting on the cold floor, wishing that they could be together just a little longer as she cried to herself, even knowing they will meet again, it was never easy to let go and say goodbye, especially to those you loved.
Ok guys, I'm ending things on this chapter right here, expect me to publish the next one in a couple of hours from now.
Also before I end things, I just wanted to share an interesting fun fact in regards to this song that this chapter was named after.
According to legend, that bit of when Mike would sing 'Like an army, falling One by one, by one' in the song 'In my Remains' supposedly came from the lyrics to an old war song that were sung by actual soldiers during the American Civil War era, though some people argued that it was a lie and Mike made that up, but to my knowledge I don't Mike ever fess up to those accusations, but personally I like to think it was true in my personal opinion cause it makes the whole song even more awesome and sounds like something that LINKIN PARK would do given their reputation.
With that said, leave me your thoughts on the matter in the review section whether you agree or disagree with this legend or even my opinion, and your reason to backing up your opinion, and if you know any other additional fun facts to this song or any other LINKIN PARK song for the record, by all means share those too
As always thank you guys for your continued support, be sure to fave, follow and all that, and please when leaving any review, don't leave me a single emoticon as a response, especially since those mean nothing to me as a writer since I can't tell what you're trying to say in regards to editing or not.
This has been your Humble Narrator Tobi Yaza.
