After a solid hour of crying, Naruto and Ruby finally decided to regroup and enjoyed each other's company as they waited outside the temple for Death to return.
"So how was it" asked Naruto to Ruby, "It was comforting, very therapeutic actually" said Ruby as she remembered the words had told her and the fact she could move on, which she wanted to share with Naruto.
"That's good to hear" said Naruto as he let out a warm smile as he continued to stare into the distance.
"How about you" asked Ruby as Naruto began to relax shoulders, "It wasn't an easy talk, though I don't think I need to tell you that" said Naruto.
"Yeah it was good to be able to talk to him, but I wish he could've stayed around a little longer you know" said Naruto, "Yeah I know" said Ruby as she could share the same sentiment.
"He means a lot to me, he was there in my darkest moments where I just wish I could disappear, only to remind me why he keeps me here, for not only him and others, but also for myself" said Naruto.
"I'm sure that Sasuke feels the same way, and more than likely can't wait to see you again back in heaven" said Ruby, "Heh, you know in spite of our awesome pep talk we had before he just left, I get the feeling that my next destination from here is a ticket in hell" joked Naruto.
"Nonsense, I'm certain we'll finally get to meet both Sasuke and my sister once you lay to rest whatever was bothering you" said Ruby.
"Speaking of, I notice she had both arms in tact" said Naruto as he recalled Ruby telling him that she lost her arm during her services in the middle east.
"Apparently she got her arm back after she died" said Ruby as the last part got Naruto's attention as he thought back to learning how Sasuke died after they had both met.
"I'm sorry Ruby" apologized Naruto, "Don't be, she died trying to avenge the person she loved most in life, and frankly I don't think she would've had it any other way" said Ruby.
"No shit" said Naruto as he would've never guessed that while both her sister and his friend died because of them, they did as a means to avenge or save them in an act of love, which will forever impact them both for the rest of their existence.
"So did you ever found out if Sasuke lived or died" asked Ruby as she half regretted asking the question considering how she kinda knew the answer already, "No he's dead like all of us, but like your sister, he'd died trying to save my dumbass" joked Naruto.
"If it makes you feel better, I kinda died in a stupid manner if you look at it from a cynical perspective when I scream that I would threaten to call the cops you know" said Ruby.
"At least you had a reason to be upset, I was being an idiot who wanted to take his anger out on something that wasn't entirely their fault" said Naruto as he looked back to what Sasuke said in letting go and make amends with the orphanage, but also had to mean it.
"I guess you are right, you were an idiot" joked Ruby before she broke out laughing with Naruto joining her.
"Ha, you know I don't I've laughed like that in a long time" said Naruto, "Me either" said Ruby.
Once they finished laughing, both began to sit on the steps staring out into the distance and remained in silence for a few minutes before Naruto started up their conversation again.
"So did Yang ever told you what you needed to do in order to leave this place" asked Naruto, "She said that I'm actually free to move on whenever I like and when I'm ready" admitted Ruby.
"Come again" asked Naruto, "Yeah she didn't go into details, but I guess I can move on apparently" said Ruby before she turned to face Naruto who had a bewildered look on his face.
"If that's the case why are you still here" asked Naruto as he was confused why Ruby decided to not leaven right then and there with her sister.
"Because I wanted to at least say good bye to you before I leave" admitted Ruby, "And to thank you for keeping me company".
Touched, Naruto was left speechless as he'll never will be cease to be amazed by the continued kindness by those he can call friends.
And so far Ruby has proven herself to be that one other friend where if the world was on fire, he'd want her by his side during their final moments together.
"Thanks Ruby, I'm going to miss you" said Naruto as he put on a warm smile and awaited for her to move on.
"I'm not going yet" said Ruby as Naruto went wide eye, "Come again" asked Naruto wide eye.
"I can tell from your reaction alone that you aren't ready to leave yet, so until you pay your dues, I'll be by your side" said Ruby with a smile.
"Do you really want to keep your sister waiting" asked Naruto, "She'll understand and in fact encourage me to take the time for myself when I'm ready and I'll be ready when you are too" said Ruby.
"Thanks Ruby, really mean it" said Naruto, "Any time" said Ruby before both went back to continue to stare aimless at the road and beyond the horizon until Death would return to pick them up.
Hey guys, I told you I'd have another chapter posted in a few hours and here it is, and before anyone in the comment section asks, yes I am aware that this song wasn't in the Living Things album and to those who don't know this LINKIN PARK song, this was a song made and sung by Mike Shinoda himself a year after Chester died, give it a listen it's a very heartfelt message towards his brother that we can all relate to if you haven't listened to it or any of his songs as of yet.
Speaking of other songs within the LINKIN PARK family tree, I will include a song from Grey Daze next chapter, and before someone decides to get into the whole essentially Grey Daze/LINKIN PARK/Chester Bennington who came and owned and belong to first, chicken or the egg argument, you can go either agree to disagree with me that Grey Daze belongs and is a part of the LINKIN PARK family, or better yet just go with it and agree with me that no matter what, Chester will be forever associated with LINKIN PARK, and even though Grey Daze came first and was his first band before LINKIN PARK, really they would've been left forgotten in history if not for Chester being part of LINKIN PARK, so with that in mind and logic Grey Daze is essentially part of the LINKIN PARK family.
Speaking of the LINKIN PARK family, please tell me in the review section or hell even PM me your favorite LINKIN PARK extension/side band project and song from that band, cause I'd love to know if you have any otherwise comment your favorite LINKIN PARK song in the review section.
This has been your Humble Narrator Tobi Yaza.
