Chapter 7:
The next few days went by and soon it was the day of Lloyd and Lilly's Aunt's ball. They were all in the games room when Misako popped her head in,
"Lloyd. Lilly. Get ready for your aunt's ball please." Misako instructed,
"Do we have to go?" Lilly asked,
"Yes. Now get ready." Misako instructed. Cole soon came by with a backpack,
"Where you going?" Kai asked,
"Dad wants to take somewhere or whatever. See ya." Cole replied as he walked out. Later, Lloyd walked out in a black tux with green and gold embroiderings down the arms and legs, light green button shirt, dark green tie and black shoes. Kai saw him and walked over to him,
"Look at you." Kai stated as he pulled Lloyd close and kissed him,
"Yuck. Can't you 2 take that lovey dovey stuff somewhere else?" Lilly asked as she walked up. Lilly was in a dress that ombre from black at the top to purple at the bottom, sweetheart neckline, off shoulder straps and a slit that reached her upper thigh with black platform heels, a small black handbag and her ruby necklace. She also had a full face of makeup with black and purple eye shadow and black lipstick and her hair was let loose but was curled slightly,
"Um…no." Kai replied as he kissed Lloyd,
"Fine. I'll just get Nya and Jay to make out right in front of you then." Lilly replied,
"You couldn't." Kai stated,
"Could and will." Lilly replied,
"How?" Kai asked,
"I have my ways." Lilly replied with an evil twinkle in her eye,
"Are you 2 ready?" Misako asked. Misako was in an emerald green dress with a tan cardigan, emerald kitten heels and a silver necklace with a silver compass pendant. She also had dark green eye shadow, eyeliner (no wings), mascara and dark red lipstick and her hair was out of its usual plat and was now in neat bun,
"Wow. Go mum." Lilly stated,
"Thank you sweetie. Come along. Meryl said a limo is awaiting us." Misako stated,
"See ya." Lilly called out,
"Have fun." Kai stated to Lloyd,
"Bye." Lloyd replied as the 2 kissed,
"Would you 2 stop merging faces for 1 second and Lloyd move your butt." Lilly stated as she poked her head in for a second,
"I'm coming." Lloyd rolled his eyes.
Soon, Lloyd, Lilly and Misako was at a mansion,
"This is where our aunty lives?" Lilly asked,
"Meryl would rather die than settle for anything less." Misako muttered,
"Burn." Lilly stated as the 3 laughed,
"Come on." Misako stated as they walked in. Inside could've been mistaken for a place,
"Misako!" a voice boomed,
"Meryl." Misako replied as she hugged a woman. The woman had grey hair that was tied into a fancy updo and green eyes and she wore a bold red dress with sleeves and red heels, a complex looking necklace and a bunch of bracelets. She also had and full face of makeup with brown and dark red eye shadow and dark brown lipstick. Meryl looked over at Lloyd and Lilly,
"These are my niece and nephew I presume." Meryl stated,
"Yes. Lloyd and Lilly. Children, this is your Aunt Meryl." Misako introduced,
"Hello. It is nice to meet you." Lloyd greeted,
"Um…hi?" Lilly waved…and Lloyd chuckled. Meryl looked them over,
"What are they wearing?" Meryl asked,
"I brought them here so you can actually meet them and they knew they had more family. Not for you to judge." Misako scolded,
"You can't scold me. I'm elder." Meryl replied,
"You don't act it." Misako stated,
"Burn." Lilly whispered to Lloyd as they both started to laugh. Soon, Meryl caught sight of a same-sexed couple dancing,
"Disgusting!" Meryl exclaimed,
"What?" Misako asked,
"These homosexual people dancing on my floor. It's revolting." Meryl stated. Lloyd suddenly became filled with fear. Lilly was about to say something when Lloyd nudged her and shook his head,
"If you 2 want to explore. Go ahead." Misako stated and the twins went off. They soon found themselves at the buffet,
"Well this is boring." Lilly stated as she ate a cupcake,
"Yep." Lloyd stated, "Imma look around. You coming?" Lloyd asked,
"I'm hungry." Lilly replied,
"See you round then." Lloyd stated,
"Come get me if there's a fight." Lilly replied as Lloyd laughed. Lilly was eating when she spotted a familiar person at the buffet,
"Cole?" Lilly asked as he looked at her,
"Your Aunt is Meryl Clark?" Cole asked,
"I guess." Lilly replied. Cole was in a black tux with a dark grey button up shirt, black tie and black shoes,
"I never thought I'd seem you in a tux." Lilly stated,
"I hate it." Cole replied with a dead expression, which Lilly laughed at. They talked for a bit when Cole started to look a bit nervous,
"Is something wrong?" Lilly asked,
"I was just wondering if you'd like to…dance or something?" Cole asked, extending a hand. Lilly looked at Cole with wide eyes into his warm brown eyes. Slowly, Lilly placed her hand in Cole's before Cole led her to the dance floor.
On the dance floor, everyone was dancing, some better than others. Cole weaved through the moving bodies, Lilly in a gentle tow. A slight panic arose in Lilly when she realised what she was doing. She accepted a dance from Cole,
"Just a warning. I don't know how to dance." Lilly stated when they stopped,
"I'll teach you." Cole replied. Cole placed Lilly's right hand on his left shoulder as he placed his left hand on Lilly's waist and lifted their other hands a bit to the side as they started to dance, Lilly carefully following Cole's lead. Lilly looked at the kindness in Cole's gentle eyes, as she felt all fluttery in her stomach as they danced. Lloyd saw the 2 dancing as he laughed at 2 things. 1, Cole in a tux, 2, the way they looked at each other, as if they'd kiss right there and then. On the car ride home, Lilly and Lloyd fell asleep on each other and Misako took a photo. When they got to where they agreed to be dropped off, Misako carefully woke Lloyd up,
"We're here sweetie." Misako whispered,
"Huh. Oh. Ok." Lloyd replied as he woke up and Misako was about to wake Lilly up when, "I got her." Lloyd stated. Misako nodded as they got out. Misako walked in to the bounty with Lloyd following her as he carried the sleeping Lilly. Lloyd saw Kai as he walked down the hall,
"Have fun?" Kai asked, whispering since it was 11pm,
"I'll tell you about it later." Lloyd replied. Kai opened the door to the girls' room as Lloyd carefully placed Lilly up on her bunk, taking off her shoes and pulled her blanket over her before carefully walking out and closing the door. Lloyd quickly ducked to the bathroom where he changed into his pjs before he went to the boys' room,
"So are you going to tell me?" Kai asked from his bunk that was above Cole's, who wasn't back yet,
"I'll tell you tomorrow. It's late." Lloyd yawned and Kai quietly climbed down,
"Wanna be good if you're making me wait." Kai stated as he pulled Lloyd close,
"I'm making you wait in case the others wake up." Lloyd explained,
"Then it must be good." Kai smiled,
"Good night." Lloyd rolled his eyes,
"Good night." Kai replied as he kissed Lloyd, who kissed back.
The next morning, Jay sat up and saw Kai spooning Lloyd. Jay tried not to laugh as Zane sat up,
"Good morning." Zane stated,
"Morning." Jay whispered,
"Why are you whispering?" Zane asked. Jay simply pointed to the sleeping couple,
"I take Kai stayed up waiting and Lloyd and Lilly got home late." Zane stated quietly. The 2 walked out, carefully closing the door behind them. In the girls' room, Nya woke up to see Lilly wiping off her makeup, as tears fell down her face,
"Lilly. Are you ok?" Nya asked. Lilly whipped around to see a concerned Nya. Lilly quickly wiped away her tears and forced a smile,
"Nya. Morning." Lilly stated,
"Are you ok?" Nya asked again,
"I'm fine." Lilly replied, looking back at the mirror she was using,
"If you're fine, why are you crying?" Nya asked,
"It doesn't matter." Lilly replied strongly,
"You can talk about it." Nya encouraged,
"There's nothing to talk about." Lilly stated as she grabbed some clothes and stormed out. Nya blinked at her roommate's sudden outburst,
"Give her time." Pixal stated from her bunk that was underneath Nya's.
Cole walked through the door,
"Where have you been?" Jay asked,
"I told you last night." Cole answered,
"Why did it take you all night?" Jay asked,
"Because by the time it ended, it was late so dad me crash at his." Cole replied with a dead tone. Cole made his way to the bathroom as Lilly stormed in, still in her dress. Cole questioned this as his mind drifted to last night. Cole decided to ask her after as he instead made his way to the boys' room. Cole opened the door to be greeted to the sight of Kai and Lloyd. Cole chuckled to himself as he dumped his bag that contained his tux on his bunk and walked out. As he walked past the bathroom, Cole could hear sobbing. Cole knocked on the door,
"What?" Lilly asked,
"Are you ok in there?" Cole asked,
"I'm fine. Just leave me alone." Lilly replied,
"Lilly, it's ok. You can tell me and if you really don't want to tell, at least let me in." Cole spoke. There was silence until Cole heard the click of the lock,
"It's open." Lilly quietly informed. Cole walked in to find Lilly sitting on the floor, curled up in a ball, in a green shirt and black track pants, her dress bunched up on the bench. Cole walked in and was about to sit when, "Can you close the door? I don't want anyone to see me like this." Lilly quietly requested. Cole closed the door and sat next to Lilly,
"Do you want to talk about it?" Cole asked,
"It's pathetic." Lilly replied, turning her head away from Cole,
"Is it really?" Cole asked,
"Yes." Lilly replied,
"I would've thought you weren't the one to wear green." Cole commented,
"The reason's pathetic." Lilly replied,
"You find a lot of things about you pathetic." Cole commented,
"That's because I'm pathetic!" Lilly exclaimed as she whipped around to face Cole, face red and eyes puffy, "I'm pathetic." Lilly repeated as she curled back up and began to sob. Cole placed a hand on Lilly's back,
"You're not." Cole replied,
"I am." Lilly stated,
"I find a colour comforting." Lilly whispered,
"I find rocks comforting." Cole stated,
"That's because you're master of earth." Lilly replied,
"That's not the reason." Cole started, "When I was little, my mum had a rock collection that she'd always keep hidden. 1 day she allowed me to look through it. I thought I was going to see geodes and that sort of stuff, I did but I mostly found the type of rocks you'd find on the side of the road. I questioned mum about it and she said that each of them are special in their own way. They didn't have to be big or shiny, all that made a rock special is where it's from, what happened in the area of where the rock was from and other things like that. I began to pick up mum's collection and I still do to this day." Cole explained, "It's not about what you find comforting but the reason you find it comforting." Cole added. Lilly let this sink in,
"Even back at Darkley's, Lloyd loved green, if he could, he'd turn everything green. Since we parted, every time I saw something green, it'd remind me of Lloyd and I'd hear his voice. Now I find the colour comforting." Lilly explained,
"Now. How's that pathetic?" Cole questioned and Lilly giggled. Lilly looked up at Cole to find that she was leaning on Cole. Lilly blushed as she sat up,
"Sorry." Lilly stated,
"If I minded, I would've said something." Cole replied. Lilly blushed and Cole wrapped an arm around her.
