Castle of Glass
Disclaimers I don't own Naruto or RWBY or LINKIN PARK, please support the following releases and your support to them and the fandoms communities based around them.
From the get go, Naruto knew what he was getting into from the start of this little project.
Granted he didn't intend to rebuild a full on functioning building, but at least a stable model to be shown as a monument.
End results were that there was always something that went wrong in the midst of the construction, be it the floors breaking due to lack of weight support, structure beams and walls falling by themselves, and so forth.
Right now Naruto sat dejected and upset over the futility of his attempts to rebuild the orphanage as he laid on the grass outside the foundation with tools and parts thrown around him.
"Come on Naruto let's try again" Ruby said trying to encourage the blonde from giving up now, but Naruto didn't respond let alone acknowledge Ruby.
"Naruto" asked Ruby worriedly as Naruto let out a deep sigh as he turned to look at Ruby's general direction.
"You know, I'm starting to believe that there's no point to any of this" said Naruto as Ruby dreaded him saying those words.
"Maybe it be better if I did nothing but wait out my existence here, until I figure shit out" Naruto said before looking aimlessly into the skies.
"Please send Sasuke my regards and that I'm sorry to leave him hanging again" said Naruto, before Ruby jump on him and began to pin his arms, before saying how she felt.
"So you're just going to give up again? Naruto I thought you were finally over that and you were ready to move on" Ruby said angrily as Naruto broke free and pushed her off.
"To tell the truth I still got beef with that place" said Naruto as he and Ruby both got back on their feet once more.
"Alright, then tell me what's wrong so we can move on together already" said Ruby as she was beginning to get frustrated with his self pity, self doubting attitude.
"You know you don't have to wait up for me anymore, you can seriously just leave without me right" said Naruto, "That's my choice and business" Ruby said.
"Alright then, you tell me why the hell are you choosing to stick around in a place like this, knowing damn well you got a chance to reunite with your sister" Naruto demanded.
"Because I don't want to leave my friend alone by himself, especially now that I know he'd do nothing but leave me and everyone worried for a seriously stupid reason" Ruby said frustratingly.
"My reason for staying here, or better said not being able to leave here is because of me" exclaimed Naruto.
"I may have forgiven and moved on from my treatment, from my nonexistent parents, and anything associated with the orphanage, but I can't forgive myself for seriously nearly killing some kids life and ruining a home for all of those kids" said Naruto.
"Seriously Ruby, just leave me alone" Naruto said as Ruby began to back away from her friend and walk down the streets to give herself some space.
Thinking about what Naruto said, it was clear that he wasn't as strong and sturdy like a house made of bricks, in terms of personality.
Granted she wouldn't call him a hut made of straw either, but if she could compare Naruto to anything based on a structural building, she'd compare Naruto to a castle of glass.
Sure there's hardly anything there to see, but currently he had a crack that's growing and it's only a matter of time before it spreads all over and it finally breaks down, and the last thing Ruby wants to see is Naruto break down and be stuck here.
Looking for a means to sit him down and to get over this gently, and not without doing a grand gesture like their failed rebuild the orphanage project, Ruby took note of the many condemned buildings in town for an answer or a sign.
Honestly there was nothing to provide of any use, before seeing a sole bouquet of roses in a flower stand.
Picking them up, Ruby began to turn tail and confront Naruto about how they should approach his situation, because she has no intention of leaving her friend behind.
Even if he'd push her away and remain stubborn, Ruby is in no hurry of leaving, plus they got all of the time in the world.
Hey guys sorry for the lack there of updates, if you're from California, more so in the bay area and the surrounding area, you'd know that right now is a pretty shitty time to essentially being alive at the moment.
Otherwise next chapter will be our last one, and I'll either post it in a few hours to a few days from now, depending whether or not I pass again from carbon monoxide poisoning.
This has been your Humble Narrator Tobi Yaza.
