Timeline:Classic era Pre-Sonic 2 and Pre-FIM

Sonic ran through the rooftops of canterlot, the young hedgehog wasn't in the mood to deal with ponies who aren't used to seeing an anthrope here looking at him like a circus display. He was only here to see one person anyways.

He was lucky enough that he was allowed here so there wasn't any guard on his butt, albeit he was surprised nobody wasn't trying to get on his case for running around like this.

He spotted the place that he was going to and smirked as he accelerated there.

Twilight Sparkle was busy studying but she was surprised when someone entered her place. She calmed down when she saw who it was...and then got annoyed.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was bored and felt you needed company, kill two birds with one stone" He said through sign language and charades.

Lucky having been dealing with him for so long, Twilight already knew how to communicate with him.

"I don't want company, I need to study and I'm not obligated to cure your boredom, don't you have friends for that?"

"...No, aside from my cellmates when Eggman kidnapped me, but I didn't see them after that"

"...You should be more careful next time, I remember you being seriously hurt after that"

"Aww, you're worried about me, it was nothing life threatening so you can rest easy"

"S-shut up, anyways, leave me alone, I want to study"

"No"

Twilight rolled her eyes, the filly knew arguing with the Hoglet was pointless so she went to study and tried to ignore him.

She was reading and looking over stuff but seems Sonic wasn't gonna let her do it in peace.

"What are you trying now?"

"It's a teleportation spell, I been told that I need to practice it, it's a bit tricky and you distracting isn't helping"

"Oh teleportation, is it like the Warp Rings I use to go to the Special Zone?"

"No, from what you told me, that's dimensional travel. This is just moving from place to place...But I've been told that it can work like that if someone is extremely powerful and skilled at magic. I doubt I can get to that extent though"

"I think you can"

Twi blushed a tad from that, lucky Sonic didn't see that.

"Umm, thanks for that. But I seriously need to work on it soooo…"

"How does it work? It's causing you this much trouble it's gotta be for something"

Well it looks like Sonic was going to question everything today.

"Supposedly I need to focus at the place I need to go, 'lit' myself with magic and move myself there...or something like that, I been trying to do it and I haven't gotten anywhere-"

Sonic listened to her, while mostly he did it because he liked listening to Twilight talk and talk even if he didn't understand her fully, in this case he could relate to the young unicorn as he was going through something similar as well.

"-And I have to make sure everything is in one piece after I fail it, apparently nothing TOO bad happened to the user but I get paranoid, ugh stupid spell"

"I can relate"

"No you can't"

"I can"

"No you can't"

"I can"

"How can you understand?"

"I been struggling with a new move lately genius"

Twi was surprised by that actually.

"You do?" She asked with interest.

"Yeah, remember the Super Peel Out? Well I wanted to incorporate the Spin Attack into it since being able to use it without requiring momentum would be a time saver, seriously I just remember all those times in South Island where I could go on very easily with the Spin Dash (thats's the name of my new move) If I thought of it earlier, but the move is a pain in the butt to master-"

He noticed that Twilight hadn't stopped staring at him the whole time he was talking, it was the same look he had when listening to her.

"And then? Also what's the weird look on your face?-"

He noticed that he was blushing a bit, he shook it off.

"Anyways yes, the move is a pain in the butt to master and I haven't gotten it right yet, I could use it during the Little Planet Adventure, but it was...not ready yet, ugh"

"Well, you were right saying you can relate, at least I didn't have to try it on the middle of battle, that would be disastrous with how I still haven't gotten it down"

The two stayed silent while they fumed about their predicament.

"Wait, were you practicing the move recently?"

"...Yeah, I was before I came here"

"Huh, just like me...Can I see it?"

"The Spin Dash? Sure but I want to see how you teleport"

Twilight sighed and focused magic on her horn, her whole body sparked with magic several times...and then Vanished and reappeared in the same spot while she looked dizzy. Sonic helped her stay on hooves.

The filly then looked at the Hoglet and instructed him to do a demonstration of his move.

Sonic then crouched and started spinning into place, albeit he was doing it rather slowly and then shot forward only to quickly uncurl and hit the ground with his face. Twi returned the favor from earlier by helping him on his feet and cleaning him up from the dirt.

"Sucks doesn't it" Both of them said at the same time...Well Twilight did while Sonic used signs, it still surprised them both.

"Well this quite the predicament, i'm sure there is something we lack that we need for this to work"

Sonic was going to point out the moves are completely different, but something told him she was onto something.

The two began to brainstorm ideas until Sonic thought of something.

"Ok, this may sound incredible silly and cheesy but...try to focus on your goal when teleporting"

"Goals?"

"Yeah, your goals, what you want to accomplish in life, and use that motivation to get to the place you wanna go"

"How's that going to help me?"

"Just do it"

Twilight was still skeptical, but did just that, focused on the things that motivated her in life and then on her destination.

A flash of magenta vanished her and made her reappear a few feet away from where she was. She was dizzy once again and she was helped by Sonic once again.

The Hedgehog was happy for his friend's success, she was really, really happy of having gotten it down.

"I did...I DID IT!" The little filly jumped with joy all over the place.

Sonic watched her bouncing around in happiness amused, until she stopped in place and looked at him.

"So what are you waiting for, try it"

Sonic raised an eyebrow...thing.

"Look, I think the same method you told me might help you get the Spin Dash down"

Sonic supposed that she was right, he focused and started to rev up...and was shocked when he saw himself shoot at amazing speed while in rolling form.

He uncurled and did it again several times, albeit not without going outside to not ruin the books and the entire place.

Twilight teleported to where the Hoglet was, she was still a little dizzy but she was slowly getting used to it.

"Guess it worked" Twilight smirked but dropped it after Sonic went and hugged her.

"Thank you"

"Hey, it was your idea after all"

"Yeah but you told me to use it myself and you were one of the goals I had"

"Oh thanks, you were one of my goals too-Wait what?!"

"What?!"

The two of them stood in silence for a few...hours it felt for them, it was just minutes at most.

"So...do you still want me to leave? Because If you want I respect your decision"

Twilight thought about it.

"You know what? I rather you stay for a little while"

So, to clarify, this is sort of a reboot for this fanfic which will now be focused mostly on Twisonic. Shadow and Rainbow will still be a couple in these but they're background characters no more prominent that the other ones. Sonic and Twi will be the stars of this fic.

And obviously I'm making this more in line with my other anthologies, with AUs and timeframes.

For example, this one is an AU where they knew each other since they where little and their world was the same. Sonic has been facing Eggman for a while now but still hasn't meet Tails and Twily is still studying (BTW as I haven't watched MLP for a long time I forgot Twi hatched Spike by now, That's why he isn't mentioned here).
