A/N: I finally know how to write Musse now. Now, I can expand this story.
The sun rose up, giving sunshine to the still sleeping town of Leeves. Inside the dorms, a pink haired girl was sleeping. Her name is Juna Crawford, a proud citizen of the annexed city of Crossbell. She was forced to transfer to Erebonia because she angered the new status quo.
Her anger towards Erebonia lessened the longer she lived here. Juna has found many friends here in Thors and in Leeves. While she cannot forgive Erebonia fully, she accepted the fact that there are good people living here. Another reason her anger lessened is because of a certain boy she met along the way.
She is currently sleeping on the bed with Altina Orion, who is an agent of the Intelligence Division. This white haired little girl is a master of espionage and has successfully kidnapped royalty before. Equally dangerous to the little girl is the powerful combat shell Claiomh Solais, which she can call at will.
Juna is currently using Altina as a doll and slept together. The older girl has a habit of sneaking to Altina's bed. At first, the little spy was annoyed that Juna would not use her own bed. It was quite resource inefficient of her. But as time goes by, Altina accepted her fate as a living teddy bear. Because no matter how many times Altina warned her classmate, Juna would just not listen.
The sun rays started filling the room. They touched Juna's eyelids. In her half wakened state, Juna smelled something odd.
Honey…?
Her eyes fluttered open. She slowly realized that she was hugging something warm. Her eyes lowered to the wave of white hair underneath her chin.
The little girl, who was dreaming of bouncing on hills of pancakes, was aghast to see Calvardian heat seeker missiles flying down toward the hill of pancakes she was bouncing on. Altina cracked her eyes open, half-realizing that Juna was screaming, almost shattering Altina's eardrums.
Juna, in her panic, rolled away and dropped to the floor, ending her screaming.
"What in Zemuria happened?" Juna groggily asked herself as she sat up.
She immediately noticed something different. She looked down on her clothes and saw that she was wearing a very unsexy white sweatshirt.
Juna blinked. "Huh?"
She pulled her collar and noticed she was wearing a yellow sports bra.
"Huh?" she said again, louder this time.
Juna snapped her head left and right.
"This isn't my room," she mumbled.
"Why did you have to awaken me in this manner, disciple?" Altina said, sitting up. Her looks like it was licked by a dog and then dried. "Is it because I stored my stash of C4 underneath your bed?"
"What?"
"What?"
A moment of silence.
Juna stood up, trying to get a bearing of her situation. And trying her hardest not to freak out. There was a small mirror on the study desk near her. She raised it up and looked at her reflection.
She almost dropped it as Juna felt lightheaded.
"This is a nightmare," she mumbled as she touched her face.
Her eyes were green. Her hair was pink. The mirror on her hand was shaking.
"This is a nightmare."
"Disciple?" Altina called, cocking her head.
Before Juna could respond, she yelped as someone started knocking the door behind her.
"Juna, is there something a matter?" Kurt said from the other side.
He was wearing his white buttoned shirt and was sweating all over. Kurt has always been an early riser so that he could have the training hall at the ground floor of the dorm by himself. The other students started getting serious on their training, so he savored every little solitude he can have. Kurt climbed up the stairs as fast as he can as soon as Juna started screaming.
"Juna? Altina?" Kurt called again, knocking the door.
"Don't come in!" Juna said. "I'm, uh… I'm naked!"
Kurt immediately backed away.
"Well… call me if you need anything," he said before turning around.
Right behind him was Jessica Schleiden. She was wearing a white t-shirt and a blue short shorts. She crossed her arms, glaring at him.
"What is in your mind, Sir Vander?" Jessica asked, narrowing her eyes on him.
Kurt was flushed pink. He was thinking of a naked Juna. Given the accident the two had at the start of school, and the picture Musse sent to him last night, it was understandable that he is feeling weird, given that he is a growing boy after all.
"That I need to train," Kurt calmly said. He walked past her.
Jessica kept glaring at him until Kurt left the floor. She has always been protective of the little Crossbellan. As much a gentleman Kurt is, she cannot be too careful.
Jessica knocked Juna's door, asking if she is alright.
"Please, go away," Juna whined.
Jessica sighed and complied.
I'll apologize to her later.
Once Juna is sure that she already left, Juna sighed and sat on the bed. The realization is starting to finally set in. Juna and Musse has switched bodies. Again. The Juna sitting on her bed is actually her classmate, Musse Egret.
"I do not understand," Altina said. She was standing up and was combing her messy hair. She is wearing a very large black jersey. "How could this happen again? We don't even have the artifact."
"Why are you asking me?" Juna asked back. Her fists were shaking. "Of course I don't know what's going on."
"Do you feel strange?"
Juna stood up and did some light stretching.
"I don't know," she said. "I feel normal, just like the last time me and Juna switched."
She stopped still.
"Juna!" she gasped.
Someone was knocking the door again.
"G-G-G-Girls?" a familiar voice called from the other side. "C-Can I come in?"
Juna crossed the room and unlocked the door. She ushered Musse in.
Musse was pink all over. On her body is a towel.
"Juna," Juna said as she locked the door again. "Do you know what's going on?"
"Musse, wait," Musse said, facing her. "C-Can you tell me what I'm—I mean, you're wearing?"
Musse opened her towel. She was wearing a very scandalous a light green see-through nightgown. Her bra and panties were dark green and has elaborate frills and decorations. They were made of both silk and linen and it is clear that they are high-class items.
Musse reddened further.
"Oh ho!" Juna said, holding her chin. "Admiring my lingerie? They're a year old, but I do say it looks good on me."
"Y-You mean you wear this all the time?" Musse asked, her lips twitching.
"Absolutely not!" Juna whipped her head to the side, putting her hands to her hips. "I have enough nightwear to last me two weeks. Each set is worth an orbal car, naturally. Plus, they're comfortable."
"I feel like I'm naked!"
Juna looked at her fingernails. "So?"
"You seem to take this body switching thing quiet well, Mu—I mean, disciple," Altina said.
"Believe me, Allie," Musse said, "it took me all my willpower to stop myself from screaming my lungs out back there." She sighed, wrapping herself with the towel again. "What are we supposed to do now, Musse?"
"We head back to the chapel and ask for help," Juna said. "Or at the very least, get the artifact back."
"I shall ask for the Intelligence Division for backup," Altina said as she put her comb down. "I shall be right back." Altina exited the room.
"Well, we got class," Musse said. "Do we really got the time?"
"We have to," Juna said. She lifted up her sweatshirt and her lip turned up in disgust. "Seriously, Juna? Yellow bra and blue panties?"
Is these what commoners wear nowadays?
"So what?" Musse asked back, pouting.
"Do you feel embarrassed wearing these?" Juna asked.
"I'd be more embarrassed if I'm wearing what you're wearing!"
"Oh, please." Juna waved at her. "Mine are specially made for comfort and for fashion. What about you? What if someone were to look at you and you're wearing these?"
"Are you out of your mind?" Musse screamed. "Like why should I let someone look at my underwear?" Her face was a tomato.
"Well…" Juna gave her a coy smile. "Kurt came by to check on me a while ago—"
"Musse no!"
"—He was worried about his precious Junie after all. He asked me if I'm okay. So I opened the door and told him, 'See for yourself.'"
"Nooooo!"
Musse hugged Juna's hips.
"My life's over!" Musse cried. "You Erebonians took my Crossbell, my future, and now you took my dignity!"
"Relax, Juna," Juna said, patting her head. "I'm just joking."
The next thing Juna knew is that she was on the floor and Musse is strangling her. Juna tried to explain that this is her body, but Musse is not listening. She was so embarrassed that she actually for Musse's lies all over again.
Juna, Musse and Altina, after changing to their school uniforms, ate breakfast outside and tried searching for the chess piece in the chapel.
"Where is it?" Musse asked herself as she bent down to look under the pew.
"It might be as I feared," Juna said, standing up. "Someone must have gotten it."
"The Intelligence Division will be contacting the Septian Church shortly," Altina said. "If the church has the artifact—"
"Excuse me," Sister Rosine said as she entered the chapel. "Can I help you three?"
"Sister Rosine!" Musse said, standing straight. She laughed nervously. "J-Just giving prayers to Aidios."
"We were just about to leave," Juna said.
"Wait," Altina said, raising her hand.
She walked up to Sister Rosine and gestured her to bend down. Rosine complied and Altina whispered to her ear. She nodded and the two headed to the other room.
"Wait for me," Altina said to her classmates before entering the room.
"Musse?" Musse called. She was gripping her skirt. "Are we… Are we going to stay like this forever?" Her eyes were welling up.
Juna sighed and walked up to Musse. She placed her hand to her shoulders and smiled.
"Juna," Juna said. "If we can switch back once, we can switch back again. But for now, I'm asking you to stay strong."
We just need to figure out the properties and characteristics of the artifact.
Musse nodded and sniffed. "Thanks, Musse."
Altina exited the room and walked towards her classmate. Juna and Musse looked at the little girl. Altina raised a fist and opened it. In the middle of her palm is the silver sepith crystal king piece. Juna and Musse cheered.
The Intelligence Division already knew that Sister Rosine is a Gralsritter. Altina's secondary assignment was to monitor the sister and see what they are doing. Using her knowledge, Altina asked Rosine for the artifact in order to help her classmates. Surprisingly, Sister Rosine agreed to let Altina borrow it.
The three students exited the chapel and headed out of Leeves. They have some time left before class starts. In the middle of a field, Altina gave the carved crystal to Juna.
"Whoa!" Juna said as soon as she touched the king piece.
"What is it?" Musse asked, stepping back. She thinks the girl in front of her could explode at any time.
"I sense it!" Juna said. She let the king piece roll down her palm. "I could sense the mana within it!"
"But didn't you say felt nothing yesterday?" Musse said.
"Could it be that the artifact is naturally absorbing mana from its surroundings?" Altina guessed.
"That's a very likely explanation," Juna said, nodding. "This thing is dangerous, but we have no choice but to study it. First question is, what causes our bodies to switch?"
"That's because we touched each other while you're holding the artifact," Musse said. She then thought of something. She walked up to Juna and raised a hand. "Hi-five!"
Juna sighed but played along with her. She gave her a hi-five.
The two waited, but no bright light appeared.
"Guess not," Musse said, shrugging.
"We can figure out how the switching works later," Altina said. "I have another pressing question, though. For instance, why did you two switch last night when you two have no physical contact with the artifact?"
Musse crossed her arms. "I got nothing."
Juna was holding her temple, thinking deeply.
"Could it be that this is some sort of curse?" Juna suggested.
"C-C-Curse?" Musse stammered, her eyes widening.
"A curse with a time limit," Juna continued. "Think of it this way. Juna and I switched bodies at the changing room. That is the first switch."
"I see now," Altina said, realizing what she is about to say next. "When you two ran against each other at the hall, the switch didn't wear off. You two merely switched again."
Juna nodded. "That's the second switch."
"Wait a minute," Musse said, crossing her arms. "But the artifact back then was, um… empty."
"It is possible that the artifact charges very fast," Altina said. "Although we don't know how fast."
"I don't think we need to figure that part out," Juna said. She smiled at Musse. "Don't you see, Juna? We can finally switch back!"
"R-Really? How?" Musse asked.
"We must've switched back when we were asleep."
"Which is the first switch," Altina added.
"So we just need to wait it out till the second switch to wears off."
"There's something off with the reasoning, however." Altina held her chin. "Our club activities are approximately an hour long. It means that the two switches were an hour apart. If it is true that switches wear off over time, and that the first switching did, why hadn't the second switching wore off already? I think it's already more than an hour, assuming that the first switch wore off as soon as you two woke up."
Juna and Musse looked at each other, then to themselves.
"Got any ideas?" Musse asked Juna.
Juna sighed and shrugged.
"Look, let's just try my theory first," Juna said. "At least until lunch time. Juna, you can hold it together until then, right?"
"I guess," Musse said, scratching her head.
"Juna! My hair!"
Juna pulled out a comb and grabbed the distressed Musse.
"Tilly! Yodelayheehoo!" someone said from above.
The three students looked up and saw the flying person.
"Great," Altina grumbled. "I asked for backup, but I didn't expect HQ would send her."
"Hey, Milly!" Musse said, waving her arm at the flying girl.
Millium Orion, the self-proclaimed sister of Altina Orion, flew down with the help of Airgetlam, her personal combat shell. As soon as Millium landed on the grass, she sent the combat shell away with a zap.
"Reporting for duty!" Millium said, giving them all a salute. "I got briefed on the situation, Tilly, and I got the goods."
She has a backpack behind her. Millium put it on the ground and brought out something that looks like a metal box with an odd looking gun wired on it.
"My name is Altina," Altina said. "But thank you." She faced Juna. "Musse, can I have the artifact? This device here is going to be used to scan it."
Juna nodded and gave the king piece to Altina. When the little girl turned around, she saw Millium grinning. She raised a hand.
"Hi-five!" Millium cheered.
"N-No," Altina said, stepping back.
"Aww, you're no fun."
Millium let down her arm. And slapped Altina's shoulder instead.
Musse screamed in horror as a bright light engulfed them all. Juna blinked as she could not foresee the stupidity happening before her.
When the light left…
"Whoa!" Altina said, holding her head. Her eyes were spinning. "I feel dizzy all of a sudden." She shook her head furiously. "Did anyone see anyone drop a stun grenade, Tilly?" She looked at the little girl in front of her. "T-Ti… Huh?"
Millium looked down on her hands. And then at Altina. Her emotionless eyes twitched.
"It seems you have committed a grave error, Millium," Millium said.
