Spiral Mountain. Ever since that mysterious tournament the place has never looked greener. At their home near the bottom of the mountain, two figures were outside enjoying a nice relaxing break.
"It sure was nice to see some of our old friends again right Kazooie?" asked the first figure. A honey bear by the name of Banjo.
"Some of them weren't that friendly. That one crocodile nearly did us in!" said Kazooie. A Breegull with a red crest, she called the blue backpack Banjo was wearing her home. No one, not even Banjo himself knew why Kazooie liked that backpack so much.
"Still, it was nice to catch up with Diddy Kong. Haven't seen him since our world moved away from the other Isles."
"You may be right Banjo, but I'm glad to be out of that tournament. My wings never hurt this much!"
"Either way Kazooie, we deserve this well earned rest. Although someday I hope the powers that be grant us a new adventure." Banjo sighed as he spoke this line. Ever since the move, he and Kazooie found themselves on less adventures. True they did have to fight their arch nemesis Gruntilda again, but ever since her banishment to the Video Game factory, she hasn't been seen since. Then a mysterious letter arrived from a land the two have only heard about from Diddy Kong before the Isles split them apart. It was from a mysterious hand, wanting them to appear in a tournament. There the two reunited with Diddy Kong and met all sorts of new friends. The hand wanted a locale from their world to appear as a stage and Banjo instantly suggested Spiral Mountain. Instantly all the participants wondered how such a simple setting could work, but the hand found a way. Rotation that affected the terrain, plus a assortment of background characters. Mumbo Jumbo the shaman, Bottles the mole, and a few Jinjos, plus Banjo's sister Tooty, who went missing after their first adventure. Even Gruntilda the Witch returned although the tournament did have her restored to her former glory with permission from the Lord of Games himself. All in all, the duo enjoyed their time at the tournament.
Unknown to both of them, the video game factory rested underneath Spiral Mountain, and a hole was being dug near the vegetable patch. A figure then emerged and gave a laugh.
"Finally free from that infernal factory, that place was less than satisfactory." It was Gruntilda the Witch! Somehow the effect of her appearance in the tournament restored her to her original appearance. "That blasted bear and snarky bird are too strong its so absurd! Perhaps a new spell of my creation shall send them off to a new location!" Gruntilda smiled as she fired her new spell at Banjo's house.
"Hey Banjo, what's that light coming our way?" Kazooie asked.
"It's a spell from Grunty! We need to flee!" Banjo prepared to run but too late. The spell hit the house and took it, Banjo, and Kazooie away from Spiral Mountain, away from everyone.
"Now that Banjo and Kazooie are gone the era of Gruntilda shall march on!" Gruntilda exclaimed.
By the time L.O.G. Found out, he was furious at Grunty for sending the heroes out with no warning. For that, he had her confined to a special no magic section of the game factory. After, he enabled a few lines of code that do the following:
A. Give Banjo & Kazooie a way home.
B. Enabled infinite feathers and eggs for the duo's attacks.
C. Allow them to create flight pads and shock spring pads from thin air.
L.O.G. sighed as he entered the code. He didn't know how long the duo were stuck, be he wanted to ensure they could have a fighting chance.
Unknown Location
Banjo woke up, feeling drained of most of his energy. He looked around, apparently they were transported into the house. "Ugh... what was that spell?" he wondered. Looking around, the house was the same as ever except for the addition of a new note. He took it and read it aloud:
Greetings Banjo & Kazooie:
If you are reading this, then Gruntilda has succeeded in her spell to send you two to a new location. Unfortunately I am unable to use my power to bring you back or locate you but there is a way to escape. In your house is an incomplete portrait showing Spiral Mountain. To complete it you must find enough Golden Jigsaw pieces. Where they are and how many you need I do not know. What I do know is you will need every move from your original games to find them. To that end I have given you unlimited eggs and feathers, along with the ability to create flight and jump pads at will.
Do not worry about your world, I will keep it running normally until you return. To the best of luck,
Lord of Games
Banjo sighed as he read the note. Wherever Grunty had sent them, L.O.G. was not happy and even his infinite power had limits. At the very least, he gave the two a goal and a incomplete portrait...
Banjo quickly looked over the fireplace, a new portrait hung, completely empty of everything except the color white.
"Kazooie, wake up, we got trouble" Kazooie woke up from this.
"What is it? Do I get to peck the witch's butt again?"
"It may be a while before you do so, read this." Banjo said handing over L.O.G.'s note. Kazooie read it over.
"So not even computer face can help us? And we gotta get more of these Jiggy things? This is sounding like another adventure!"
"I just wonder where we ended up?" Banjo wondered to his friend.
"Only one way to find out" Kazooie said, as Banjo went to open the door...
...but on the other side, someone was already there.
