I own nothing.

Splinter reached into his robe and brought out a coil of rope. Leo began to edge back to him over the pipe. His sensei raised what appeared to be a grappling hook over his head and spun it in a circle there. He threw it.

The grappling hook went around the bar of another passageway above them. It went around the bar hooking around the rope on the other side. Sensei gave the rope a tug from his end. The hook, bar, and rope held.

He then grabbed Leo by the shell and placed him over his back. Leo reached down and gripped his father's body with all four of his limbs. Then Splinter swung out off the bar beneath them. They swung through the air. Leo gazed over his father's shoulder. They were aiming for another wide-open passageway before and a little below them. Soon they were there.

His father's two feet landed within the new even wider passageway. He then moved his arm to dislodge the hook from the bars of the passageway now well above them. Leo jumped off his back. Then he turned to face his master.

Splinter continued to coil the rope as he spoke to him. "But you could have saved yourself at any time." His voice cracked a bit as he remembered his fear at thinking it was "not" so.

Splinter smiled gently and warmly back at him as he replied, "And you would still be consumed by your fear." He leaned over and patted his son's head with his paw. "By focusing on the task at hand, you were able to clear your mind of all distractions."

They were walking together now, side by side. Leo's back was straight. A huge grin spread over his face. Master Splinter wasn't ashamed of him. Master Splinter believed in him. And he had conquered his fear!

God Bless
