Pretty much ripped straight from the episode "Tales of Leo." Please don't sue, anyway, I love that episode and appreciate its creators very much.

He called out for his brother again hoping against hope, but surely if Leo was going to come, he would have by now. Maybe he had jumped over the fall and been caught beneath its pressure and was now dying of suffocation too? Maybe he went to get Splinter and it would be too late when they returned? Maybe he was frozen in fear listening to him call his name, but the flight or fight response wasn't working properly for him to take the appropriate action?

Donnie's own thoughts were already chaotic. They didn't seem to be helping him now. He understood what was happening to him and why, but not what he could do about it. Of what use was being a genius now?

As water continued to pour out of the pipe he'd come down, the water level continued to rise. Soon it was over his head. Now his cells would die from lack of oxygen. Even if he was recused within a few minutes, he could have brain damage! He would no longer be the genius of the family.

He could not breathe! His pinned foot and ankle really hurt! But that pain was just a screaming annoyance (like Mikey's high-pitched whining) compared to the blaring panic of drowning! He'd never be able to breathe again. He …

The plank was lifted off his foot. He began to float upward. A familiar arm wrapped under his left one. Then it wrapped across his plastron and pulled him further up.

He came up out of the water. That familiar, scaly arm, not much bigger than his own, kept him afloat. They began to move across the pool's surface making a line through its middle like they were measuring its diameter. The water was calmest there. Soon, they were climbing up into a pipe where the falling water coming from it was only a gush that produced little pressure upon their bodies. It was more an annoyance that a force to fight against.

When Leo finally set him down inside that pipe, his brother in blue rolled over. Then they both lay there catching their breaths. The water still flowed around them, but didn't move either of them a millimeter.

Calm returned to his quick mind. A feeling of loss hit his stomach. Leo must have sensed it somehow. His voice came to Donnie's ears as a single, gasped syllable. "What?"

"You didn't get the car?"

While Donnie continued to stare at the pipe above them, his brother turned a disgusted look upon him.

What do you think?

God Bless
