Inspired by the song "Piece by Piece" (by Kelly Clarkson), this story focuses on Maya Hart's life after her father left her and her mother. It will show her relationship with the Matthews family, her growing father/daughter-bond with Shawn Hunter and - in later chapters - her feelings for one Josh Matthews. AU.

1. Preface

A/N: I've recently stumbled upon a video on YouTube and got inspired. This story is going to have most of the Girl Meets World characters in it (at least as far as I have it planned up until now). The main focus, however, is going to be on Maya (along with her mother, Shawn and the Matthews family). The song this story is based on is called Piece by Piece (by Kelly Clarkson) and I think it fits Maya perfectly. There is also going to be some Joshaya in this story. Anyway, I don't want to give away too much. This chapter will just be a short preface, the actual story will start with the next chapter. I really hope you like this story.
