"Carla, I've been looking all over for you." a soaked Wendy breathed a sigh of relief when she spotted the white cat. There had been a confrontation between Carla and Happy earlier in the guild and Carla had simply stormed out, as such Wendy had gone out to search for her missing partner.
"Oh Wendy, You're going to catch a cold if you stay out in this mess without an umbrella."
"The same goes for you," Wendy said back kneeling down to scowl at Carla. "Carla...why are you so mean to Happy and the rest of them, after all, they've done for us, could you at least try to be a little bit nicer to everyone? "
"I don't see the need for it," Carla responded as she turned away. "As long as I'm with you they're just complications."
"Jeez, I don't understand you sometimes," Wendy complained.
Footsteps caught their attention and they turned to see a black armoured figure walking down the empty street with several staffs one his back. For a few moments, it was difficult to make out any details before whatever magic was concealing it dispelled allowing them to make out the details of the armour.
He stopped in front of them and simply stared at the two.
"Who are you?" Carla asked suspiciously.
"Hello Wendy," the figure greeted as he started to remove his helmet
"Wait, I know that voice..." Wendy's eyes widened, she recognized it from years ago.
"I never considered the chance that you'd join this Guild..." the figure mused as he completely removed his helmet showing his face, the tattoo across his right eye and his blue hair, it was unmistakable.
"Jellal?!" Wendy exclaimed in surprise.
"But how?" Carla asked "You were sent to Alvarez by Lucy after she bought your freedom! People saw you board the ship!"
"That person wasn't me." the man told her.
"What?!" Wendy asked with confusion.
"Then how do you explain your uncanny resemblance?!" Carla demanded.
"My name is Mystogan of Fairy Tail," Mystogan declared simply. "When we first met seven years ago, I was unfamiliar with this world and I told you my name was Jellal."
"Y-you mean..." Wendy stammered. "You're my Jellal, I was afraid you had forgotten all about me. I can't believe you're really here...I wish I'd disobeyed and kept following you back then!"
"And I wish I'd been able to let you….follow me…" Mystogan swayed and fell onto his backside, it was then Wendy realized Mystogan had been holding his side, she gasped as he pulled his away revealing a gaping hole in his armour and a large patch of still fresh blood dripping out the wound therein.
"You're hurt!" Wendy yelled in worry.
"They got tired me sealing up the Anima so they lured me into a trap" Mystogan gritted out. "They opened a small Animaa good distance away and while I was focused trying to seal it they attacked me through the Anima with a Noble Phantasm. With this wound, I almost didn't make it in time."
"A Noble Phantasm?" Carla recognized the word "Are you a reincarnate as well?"
"Yes, I am, Can I assume that Wendy so one as well?" Mystogan said.
"Yeah, sort of we share this body, it's a really weird situation," Wendy explained as she tried to heal his wound.
"Ha I can imagine….urgh…." Mystogan chuckled but then winced as he agitated his wound.
"Don't move so much." Wendy scolded him.
"Tell me, what do you know of the Second True magic?" Mystogan asked.
"Er….it's the Operation of Parallel Worlds?" Wendy said after a pause "At least that's what Shirou says."
"Correct, that's what Merlin told me in my past life, or at least that's what I understood from what he said," Mystogan said rubbing his head sheepishly. "Anyway, the Anima was created using a degraded and inferior version of the Second True Magic. It is only capable of connecting to the closest Parallel world and the portal cannot open for too long before it closes, but in that time it's capable of doing a lot of damage."
"W-what do you mean?" Wendy asked in shock.
"….The disappearing town phenomenon." Carla breathed.
"Indeed."
"What's that mean?" Wendy cried.
"In the last ten years, towns and villages have vanished off the face of the earth," Carla explained as she stared up into the sky where Anima was starting to grow more intense. "Not just people, but buildings, animals and even large sections of the surrounding forests were simply gone when the areas were inspected later."
"This world is saturated has an abundance of magic energy, as a result just about everything is saturated in Ethernano; people, buildings animals and plants." Mystogan explained, "Anima doesn't discriminate it converts anything unlucky enough to be in range into magic energy and sucks it up for storage in a lacrima in Edolas."
"What about Fairy Tail?!" Wendy shouted at him. "What about everyone at the Guild?!"
"I'm afraid….those without a high enough magic resistance…..will perish," Mystogan grunted out.
"No..." Wendy cried as she turned and started running in the direction of the Guild.
"Where are you going?!" Mystogan called after her.
"To save everyone!" Wendy yelled back over her shoulder as she ran.
Mystogan sighed and he looked up in the centre of the clouds he saw a light beginning to down focused on Fairy Tail's guild hall but quickly expanding outwards quickly shining on the whole town.
The ground began to rumble, he knew that It had already begun, even as Wendy was running from to the guild hall, buildings around him became enveloped in a white light, rock and stone started to be pulled up into the vortex which was now visible through the swirling clouds and seemed to be a swirling vortex of different colours. It was like looking into a kaleidoscope.
Mystogan could only watch helplessly as the Anima completed its work. Lightning flashed down from the centre of the spiral as the buildings started to glow and disappear and break up. The particles were drawn upwards towards the Anima in a stream of light until a single bolt of lightning struck down.
A tornado formed and began taking what was left of the town apart, pulling it up into the centre of the vortex in a column of light. Soon the light died down and the storm settled, although the spiralling clouds remained above them leaving a large empty wasteland where Magnolia Town once stood.
[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]
Wendy with a start shot up, she didn't know how she came to be lying on her back, the last thing she remembered was getting near the guildhall yelling for everyone to evacuate, then there a large flash of light and then nothing.
She was alone, Magnolia, Fairy Tail, it was all gone. There were no plants, nor water, nor buildings or even people, the only thing was she saw was a barren wasteland with some clouds at ground level floating around and lots of bubbles rising up from the ground.
"Hello, is anyone out there?" Wendy's cry's echoed back to here from the barren landscape. "Answer meeeeEEEK!"
Wendy cried out in alarm and fell on her behind as a small golden orb startled her by flying out of a nearby cloud and striking her, well not exactly striking her as it made no impact or force impact as it went inside her body.
"Wendy?" She looked up to see a tan skinned- white haired version of herself fizzling into existence looking down at her, it was Shirou.
"Shirou!" She cried out nearly in tears as she stood back up.
"There's no need to cry out child," Another rather familiar voice stated, as its owner walked out of a nearby bank of clouds.
It was Lucy, Wendy couldn't help but feel both relieved and nervous, rel8ieved that at least one of her guildmate's had escaped that disaster, but nervous as Lucy was Gilgamesh's reincarnation, and from what Shirou had told her saying that Gilgamesh was not very nice was a vast understatement. Yet she had not been mean to Wendy, only making snide remarks or just being plain insulting to Shirou.
She was wearing an open black jacket, a white tube top and black jeans. Shirou had once commented that she looked like a delinquent from a biker gang.
"You're still here, but how?" Shirou asked.
"This necklace provides me with an A rank in magic resistance," Lucy replied lifting a small necklace on a black thread with a silver shaped sword on it, into view. "There are some troublesome fellows in this world, so I've taken to wearing it just in case."
"Did you know this was going to happen?" Shirou asked suspiciously, giving voice to Wendy's own thoughts.
"Of course not, I'd have to be clairvoyant to see this coming," Lucy replied in a tone that Wendy was almost certain was sarcasm, Shirou caught it too.
"If you knew then why you didn't say anything?" Shirou demanded once again voicing Wendy's own thoughts.
"I'm not this guilds mother, they should have learned to watch out for themselves, besides it's obvious that we're going to get them back."
"Indeed." A stern voice agreed, Erza wearing her Saber battle outfit stepped out of the clouds and into view. "For now we must consider how to get our guildmates back, but we shall talk about this later, extensively."
"It's a date." Lucy replied with a smirk. "on another matter you may wish to help that fool." Lucy indicated with her head to the ground near Wendy's feet.
Erza sighed a walked over to Wendy and abruptly punched into the solid stone causing loud bang which caused Wendy to flinch, she sometimes forgot just how freakishly strong Erza was. The knight promptly withdrew a mass of pink hair, attached to which was Natsu.
"Ow ow ow, jeeze Erza that hurts let goo-oof!" She promptly dropped him onto the ground.
"How did you even end up under the ground?" Lucy asked with a quirked eyebrow. "The guild vanished around us, you weren't teleported under there."
"I dunno, but what's with all the bubbles?" Natsu asked looking around rapidly. "And where is everybody?"
"Everyone is gone, taken by whatever that was, we are going to get them back," Erza stated leaving no room for argument.
"Right, I'm all fired up." Natsu grinned punching his hand.
"But why were we left behind?" Shirou asked. "I get why you and Erza are still here, you both have Magic Resistance, but Natsu and Wendy don't have that skill, so why were they spared?"
"Well, it's nothing to do with being reincarnates after all that fool Gildarts got taken and his Magic Resistance is of the D rank. So it's likely that this magic is high ranked, probably B rank or low A Rank." Lucy commented waving her hand.
"Do you think it's because we're dragon slayers?" Wendy asked.
"That's exactly why," Carla commented flying out of the clouds and approaching the group. "In fact, we're lucky that you are a dragon slayer or you'd have suffered the same fate as the others, they have all been taken by the Anima, not that I care all that matters to me is that you are alive."
"The Anima?" Erza asked
"That big hole in the sky, it's not only for draining magic energy, it is also the gateway to Edolas," Carla explained.
"Edolas, Mystogan talked about that," Wendy said.
"Yeah, he also said that the Anima uses a degraded form of the Second True Magic." Shirou pointed out.
"That is because the creator of the Anima is a reincarnate like yourselves," Carla told them. "However that is the limit of my knowledge, their identity, both past life and present are closely guarded secrets, known only to the King of Edolas."
"Well, it narrows it down at least, a magus from the Age of Gods are all out because none of them are compatible with the True Magics." Lucy explained, "This is because those kinds of True Magic were so common back then, making magi from that era unable to learn any of them."
"So that narrow's it down to Magi from after the Age of Gods," Erza pointed out "But there's problem, the few of them that were recorded on the Throne of Heroes were never notable for attaining True Magic."
"Mystogan mentioned that the magic the Anima uses in an inferior degraded version of the Second, only capable of linking Edolas to the nearest parallel, our world and no others," Shirou told them.
"That make's even less sense." Erza sighed massaging her temples in frustration. "No Mage worth their salt would use something as powerful as the Second Magic in such a half-assed manner and just leave it at that. But there's something that's been bothering me, Mystogan is Lancelot, but Jellal is also Sir Lancelot, how can that be possible?"
"Maybe he was reincarnated twice? As Jellal and Mystogan?" Shirou suggested.
Lucy responded by swatting Wendy on the head.
"Ow, what was that for?" Wendy cried.
"You idiot, such a thing might be possible if heroic spirits were summoned as servants, but we were reincarnated you fool," Lucy said with a sigh not dissimilar than Rin's when she thought Shirou had said something foolish. "These are our actual souls, not the copies the Holy Grail summons, it is impossible for two people to have exactly the same soul without it being split in two, and I assure you Mystogan and Jellal's souls are completely whole and unbroken."
"Now that you mention it," Erza perked up remembering something "Back when we were fighting Laxus in his ridiculous contest, Mystogan said 'I am not the, Sir Lancelot you know, but I have heard of him. In my lifetime, I never turned on my fellow knights, so my Arondight never became blackened, and never lost its status as a Holy Sword. To put it simply I am from another timeline where events went very differently for Britain and Camelot."
"He outright said he was from another timeline, why didn't you mention it earlier?" Lucy asked with a smirk.
"I forgot ok, it wasn't exactly the most important thing at the time, or right now for that matter." Erza snapped at her.
"She's right, we need to get our friends back, now!" Wendy interjected.
"Hey guys, I'm so glad I found you." Happy cried flying at the group and hugging Natsu. "Everyone's gone!"
"Yes, we noticed." Lucy said dryly "Now, how do you know so much about Edolas?"
"The reason I am so informed about Edolas is because I am from there," Carla confessed. "As is the one you call Happy. He and I were sent to Earthland on a mission separate from the Magic Absorption of the Anima. The mission was imprinted into us before our eggs were sent here. It's part of our very being….so why don't you know the first thing about it or Edolas?!" Carla yelled pointing at Happy.
"I… don't know." Happy replied sadly
A loud humming sound suddenly interrupted them, they looked and saw Lucy sitting on the Vimana's throne.
"Come aboard then, we need to go to Edolas after all don't we?" The three human and two cats did so, while Shirou's thought projected form vanished as Lucy snapped her fingers. "After all it's the only way you're going to get any answers,"
The Vimana rose into the sky began its ascent towards the anima. Bolts of lightning occasionally shot out of it at random. As they got closer the bolts became more frequent and the ride became a bit more turbulent. Eventually, they entered the vortex of the Anima, clouds swirled around them, thankfully for Natsu, Wendy had used a spell to rid him of his motion sickness, temporarily anyway.
The lightning bolts inside of the Anima were far more frequent, causing Lucy to lazily avoid them. The turbulence caused the Vimana to tremble noticeably, it was then Lucy pushed forward accelerating, a blue light covered both the Vimana and its passengers before a blinding white light appeared in front of them causing everyone to cover their eyes.
Then just as quickly as it all began, it ended. Save for Lucy, they all gasped upon opening their eyes and looking at the scenery, there floating islands, in the sky, rivers that flowed the air itself. There multiple planets visible in the daylight sky. Strange creatures flew through the air and the trees and plants were in strange shapes that none of them had ever seen.
"Look at all these floating islands," Wendy said with amazement.
"You come from a pretty cool place Happy, don't ya think?" Natsu asked his friend.
"I don't really know what to think." Happy replied a bit taken aback.
"It's so strange, and wonderous," Carla commented with amazement.
The Vimana shook again.
"What's going on?" Erza demanded.
"No magic power here." Lucy shrugged with a smirk on her face.
Then, the Vimana simply vanished from under them, the golden sparkles the tell-tale signs that it had returned to the Gate of Babylon, before any of them could react a loud bang came from above them, sending them flying, or more specifically sent Lucy flying away from the rest, she gave a wink as she fell into the treeline a far distance away.
Erza managed to use Invisible Air as a cushion to land herself safely while Happy and Carla brought Natsu and Wendy down to the ground with their wings which rather abruptly gave out causing them to fall the last foot to the ground.
"Ow, jeez, what happened?" Natsu grumbled.
"Where did Lucy go?" Wendy wondered looking around.
"She did that on purpose." Erza sighed scowling in the direction of the forest where she was sure Lucy had fallen.
"Why do you say that?" Happy asked.
"I know her, she's up to something. She knew that this would happen and we would have to come to Edolas, she's separated from us because she has her own agenda."
"What could she possibly want here in Edolas?" Carla asked perplexed "You can't use magic here as you can in our world."
"I get the feeling we'll find out." Erza sighed, "Come on, let's find a town, someone's got to know something about what happened to our guild."
Everyone nodded and followed Erza's lead, they find somewhere to get information eventually.

"So are we moving out?" A familiar voice asked the black knight as she walked through the hallway near the exit where the legions were kept.
"Yes, it's time to get Fairy Tail and finish them once and for all." She replied looking at her comrade who was leaning against a column.
"Well I damaged their defence system last time, so they'll still be fixing it, which means they won't be able to teleport away like last time." Her compatriot replied.
"Well let's go, the sooner we leave the sooner we can finish those nuisances, then there won't be anyone left to disrupt the king's plans." She continued walking towards the doors, a second set of footsteps indicated that her partner had started following her. "They won't get away this time, Gildarts Clive bought them time and I beat him without even having to use my Noble Phantasm, but this time the king has given me permission to release it."
"Lucy sure was a bother, she got me pretty good last time."
The other woman didn't get an immediate reply, instead, the knight stopped and suddenly leapt and punched at something, crumbling to the floor was an eyeball-shaped lacrima with bat wings attached.
"Damn spy lacrima." She grumbled as she landed and forced the doors open. "We'll leave the army behind, they'll just slow us down. They know we're coming. Also, that's what you get for being cocky, she's no slouch in battle."
They stepped out into a courtyard where the legions were kept and approached the flying beasts. A pair of caretakers for the creatures saw them approaching and began preparing a pair of legions for them to use.
The pair stopped short of the Legion cages and bowed as a pair of Exceeds in uniform flew past. They continued on their way once the flying cats were gone. The black knight boarded one legion while her partner boarded another.
"Annoying fleabags." She grumbled when the exceeds were out of earshot, "I'll be glad when they're gone."
"You're not fond of them are you now that I think about it." her partner commented as the legions stomped out of their pens and waited for them to board and then took off into the sky.
"It's demeaning having to bow and be polite to those weakling flying cats." She grumbled again "Ever since they got it into their heads that their Queen can decide who lives and who dies they've become very full of themselves. If the king didn't need them as part of the plan to power the Holy Grail I'd have wiped them all out myself."
"What about Panther Lilly?"
"He's different and you know it, he was exiled for the crime of saving a human life and bringing him to their vaunted homeland for rest."
"You really hate them, don't you? That can't be the whole reason you hate them though. Is it because your mother-"
"Shut up! Those selfish Exceeds are the reason she died, their extinction will be my vengeance upon, and to top it off everyone else in Edolas will be safe and happy with unlimited magic power."
Her companion sighed but decided to keep quiet, knowing that she might lash out if she was pressed any further. As such the only sounds from then on were those of flying creatures and the wind blowing past their ears as they flew straight towards Fairy Tail.

In a certain guild hall, there was panic as the lacrima feed cut out. Everyone started yelling and screaming, save for a few who remained calm and Levy who was hard at work trying to fix the transportation system.
"Oh shit."
"That's bad."
"We're screwed!"
"Everyone calm down." Lissana Strauss the youngest of the siblings yelled.
"How can we be calm?"
"Yeah, the Fairy Hunter is coming, she killed Gildarts even when he used his Noble Phantasm, without using hers!"
"We're all going to die!"
"Juvia my love let's have a farewell kiss."
"Get away from me."
A loud and sharp whistle brought an end to the panicked chaos. A girl with blond hair stood up.
"Levy, how long will it take to get the transportation system operational again?" She asked.
"Another thirty minutes at least," Levy replied not taking her eyes off her work. "But they'll be here in twenty."
"So I just need to buy us ten minutes, that's fine." She stood up with a wide grin on her face.
"Lucy, are you crazy?" Lissana asked, "It'll be two on one, not to mention the Fairy Hunter will be using her Noble Phantasm this time."
"Yeah, if you're killed we're done for!"
Lucy's grin never faded even at the pleading of her guildmates not to leave.
"Worry not my performers!" She yelled, "Tis not the final act just yet, I shall return alive, this I promise you."
With that Lucy turned and left through the front doors, a red rose flitted down and landed on the table she had been sat at.

"Byro." The elderly chief of Royal Army Staff turned and bowed as King Faust entered the small room he was in.
"Your Highness, have you come to check up on her?"
"Indeed," Faust said looking down at the hospital bed with a small girl lying upon it, her eyes were glazed over and there was an IV drip attached to her, a series of circuit like markings extended from the base of her neck across her entire body. "You brought her to recuperate I take it?"
"Yes Sire, I noticed that her health had begun to slightly decline upon my regular check-up and as per your instructions to keep her body as healthy as possible, I performed the disconnect from the Ark to the letter and brought her here, so she can recover."
"Very good, when you judge she's in good enough health reconnect her and inform me, so I might finish reprogramming the Ark." Faust ordered, "I'm nearly finished, then I can initiate the reformatting, so my new programming can take effect, then all I have to do is make my wish upon the Holy Grail."
"….y…" Both men paused and looked at the girl,
"She's talking, but how? Her consciousness is suppressed." Byro wondered fascinated.
"An unimportant error, I only suppressed her consciousness, so I wouldn't have to listen to her pain filled screaming when I used her as the terminal." The King replied dismissively. "It will fade eventually. Now I must continue to oversee the other preparations, carry on Byro."
With that King Faust left the room, closing the door behind him, his footsteps faded away as he walked up the stairs. Noticing that she was still mumbling, Byro curiously moved closer so he could listen.
"…by…..Ruby…."
"Hmmm….Ruby? Well, whoever this Ruby is cannot help you now." Byro sighed "Now I must hurry, you need to recover to be useful to the King after all."

AN: Wow, subtlety is not my strong suit is it? Never mind, anyway just to be clear, there will be no full blown crossovers with any other Fate franchises, that is to say non- reincarnates will not be sticking around for long, I promise. So please bear with me on this. Anyway I hope you're still enjoying this, I will have be slowing down updates on this story as you may have already noticed, but I will NOT be abandoning or putting it on Hiatus I will continue with it, it's just that writing for this has stopped being fun and has become a bit of a chore. Anyway, till next chapter. A cyber cookie for whoever can guess who our Fairy Hunter's partner is.
