Chapter 2

You're Sweet

"How did you find me?" sniffed Blossom finally looking up at her dolls who were gently cleaning her face and fixing her hair.

"We are your dolls, we can always find you." Boomer smiled while releasing her from the group hug. Blossom seem to cling onto Bubbles, so the human like doll kept petting her head to calm her down.

"But…I was so lonely…why did it take so long?" Blossom asked while staring into the pretty shade of blues from the dolls' human eyes. She was quite happy that they looked so life like instead of button eyed, stuffed dolls. That would have been creepy.

Bubbles frowned, "It's a little hard to move in a doll body, so a bit of magic came into effect."

"But, dad said that magic doesn't exist." Blossom said moving her head sideways causing Bubbles to stop petting her. "Science is the only reality in this world; everything can be explained by it."

"Then explain it to us? Why are we standing in front of you?" Bubbles stated while Blossom stared blankly at her. Truly there wasn't a scientific explanation to how non-living dolls could turn into living beings. Blossom gulped a little wondering if she made a mistake on trusting these people so quickly.

"Cherry Bloom please believe us, it's truly magic that gave us life." Boomer whimpered while giving the saddest eyes Blossom has ever seen. Her mouth opened a bit at the name Boomer called her. When she played with her male doll he was charming and always used that nickname on her. Course she made it up for herself, but no one could know that besides her parents.

"Ok, I trust you." Blossom smiled making Bubbles's smile return to her face as she picked the young girl up.

"Oh thank goodness, I would have been extremely sad if you didn't believe us." Bubbles giggled as Boomer smiled watching the girls spin around happily. Blossom giggled along and held on happy their sad eyes were content again. She didn't want to disappoint the only thing she had left of her parents. They could leave her here if she didn't believe in this "magic". No, she didn't want that.

"My, looks like your dress is ruin." The girls had stopped spinning as they glanced at each other's dressed. Bubbles's dress was still spotless, but mud and rips were covering Blossom's. "We simply can't allow that. Why don't we all go home, yes?"

"Home?" Blossom questioned while Bubbles giggled and set the girl on the ground as gently as a baby.

"Yes, home." Bubbles held out her hand and Blossom stared at it for a few minutes. Blossom was quite sure that her home was sold to a rich, old widower who snapped at an child that came close to him. So, where could this home be for these dolls? Blossom smiled taking Bubbles's hand as they walked in the direction the two dolls appeared from. The rain had slowly stopped as the gray clouds settled in the sky only allowing some moonlight to lead the way. Boomer seem to know the way though as Bubbles chatted with the young lady of the Utonium household. Blossom was feeling more at peace walking with her dolls despite never going down this path to get to her home. She realized she didn't know as much as she thought she did when she saw the grant manor she grew up in.

"How is it…?" Blossom couldn't finish her sentence as she walked along the stone pathway. The plant life framing the manor, the angel statue smiling down at her, the windows, the door, it was…all the same and here waiting for her. "It's here."

"Welcome home, Blossom." the dolls greeted while opening the door, so the young Blossom could enter. Blossom walked in standing in the middle of the foyer taking in all in. The black and white tiles were clean as the roses in the middle of a table looked new and well kept. Blossom looked to the left seeing the parlor where the guests would sit with the piano and record player. And to the right she knew the study that her father made his laboratory hid beyond a closed door.

"Take of your shoes, Cherry Bloom you will make a mess." Boomer chuckled as Blossom blushed quickly removing the muddy Mary Janes.

"Let us get you in some new clothes as Boomer prepares a small tea time for us." Bubbles said kissing the side of Boomer's cheek then made her way to Blossom. Blossom felt her tummy growl a bit and nodded glad to hear there was food. Bubbles picked up her gently and made her way to the staircase that lead upstairs. Blossom looked around seeing the paints of flowers and landscapes pass by noticing the closed doors. She knew each of them…the library, guest rooms, bathrooms, her…parents' room, and her room. Bubbles had stopped right in front of it and walked in making the young girl let out a happy sigh.

"It feels like I never left." Blossom smiled jumping out of her human doll's arms as she touched the many books that lined the shelves.

"I would hope so. It's not nice seeing you leave us." Bubbles hummed brushing off her reddish dress of invisible dirt than seem to never touch it. Blossom agreed as she picked up a drawing of a detailed Ram cichlid. "Now, this is a perfect tea time dress!"

"Huh?" Blossom turned around to see that Bubbles had pulled out a white, long sleeved dress that was made of silk and cotton. Blossom knew that dress was very pretty, but she hadn't worn it since she was seven. "Bubbles that won't fit me."

"Of course, it will."

"No Bubbles, the dress is too small." Blossom giggled finding it funny that Bubbles really thought she could fit that. Then again, dolls don't grow out of clothes.

"Oh, please try it, Blossom! It was my favorite that you would wear playing with us, oh please." Bubbles whined as Blossom sighed taking the dress then laying it on the bed.

"Ok, just to show you that it wouldn't fit." Blossom peeled off her wet, dirty clothes as Bubbles picked them up to wash them later. Blossom let the red ribbon fall from her hair and grabbed the white clothing that seemed a bit big. She threw it over her head and surprisingly found that it fit. Bubbles squeaked quickly tying the back tie and brushing Blossom's hair until it was smooth again.

"Now, where is that- ah there we go!" said Bubbles fixing the white bow that matched with the outfit. "Stockings and shoes too!" Blossom slipped on the other things she was giving and finally looked in the mirror behind her closed door. The top of the sleeves was poofy with little frills at end of them and the frills at the end of the dress matched. The white stockings were spotless even though Blossom knew she gotten mud on her legs and the pink Mary Janes looked just like the ones she left in the foyer. "You look so beautiful my Blossom."

"Thank you…thank you so much, Bubbles." Blossom sniffed quickly hugging the young adult that was her doll. Bubbles patted her back as she hugged her while placing a kiss on her head. Blossom tried hard to hold her tears in; glad that this was real happening.

"Now no tears, Boomer is probably almost done setting up down in the dining room. You should go and help while I put this clothing in the wash."

"Alright, Bubbles." Blossom made her way back to the front not even taken a second glance at the manor around her. She knew this was her home. Once downstairs she made her way around the stairs to find three paths. One to the backyard, one to the dining room, and one to a small conservatory. Blossom made her way into the dining room and burst into laughter seeing Boomer trying to balance tons of food and glassware in his arms.

"Blossom, please help me." Boomer whimpered as the young girl let out a few more giggles then help carry the cups and teapot. "Thank you…oh you are wearing the dress."

"Yeah, it still fits me." Blossom grinned placing the teacups in the correct placement as Boomer placed the small sandwiches and sweets on the table.

"Why wouldn't it?" Boomer questioned as he bent down to look at the young lady at eye level. Blossom blinked at him and shook her head knowing he wouldn't understand.

"Clothes are washing, time for tea party!" Bubbles said while coming into the room and jumping into Boomer's arms. Boomer easily catches her and placed a gentle kiss onto her lips. Blossom smiled seeing them being so loving to each other then quickly turned her head to give them some private.

"Come, my Cherry Bloom you may sit first." Boomer said as they both went to a chair and pulled it out for her. Blossom sat in the chair and stared at the tea set knowing it was only used for special occasions. Was this special enough?

"Cinnamon tea for our favorite girl." Bubbles smiled creepily as she removed the stick from the tea getting a few droplets on the Blossom's face. Blossom blinked a few times seeing she must have imagine that smile as Bubbles quickly wiped her face of the liquid.

"After tea time we could head to bed." Boomer said as the two young adults sat in their chairs and started drinking their tea.

"W-What? So soon?" Blossom mumbled feeling it wasn't that late especially since she didn't remember seeing a clock with a time on it. In fact, she didn't remember seeing a clock in the manor at all, but it was super dark out, so they could be right.

"Now, don't be a bad little girl." Boomer almost seem to hiss, but that could be because of him drinking the tea.

"I won't, I promise." Blossom said as she took a bite out of a cookie that seem to have been using bitter chocolate chips.

"That's good to hear." Bubbles giggled while eating a sandwich as slow as a sloth. Blossom continue to eat and drink her tea as the silence seem to take over the space. Blossom looked around seeing how the shadows of the trees licked the floor reaching closer to her. The moon was out, but the yellow color looked sickly as a smirk seem to play across it. Blossom immediately moved her head from that sight focusing on the table of food. The dolls seem to be taking their time as Blossom started feeling full.

"Maybe I be excused, I have to go to the bathroom to wash up."

"Ok, but we will be up there to tuck you in." Bubbles said while they started cleaning up the table.

"Ok." Blossom said while making her way out of the dining area. Blossom paused feeling like the house was a lot darker than before. She shook her head, of course it was; it was nighttime. Blossom made her way upstairs into one of the bathroom to get ready for bed. As she washed her hands, she noticed something odd. Blossom turned around seeing the tile floor was stained a little red which stood out against the white tiles. She dried her hands and got down on the floor to see it closely. It looked like the remains of paint? Leading to a closed door of the bathing area. Blossom got up making her way to the door. She should open it, right? Blossom sighed and opened the door closing her mouth at the sight in front of it.

Paint, no blood seemed to cover every inch of the bathing area. And in the tub a man probably older than a grandfather sat naked. Blossom quickly closed the door and ran out into the hallway. "W-What…!" Blossom sucked in a breath seeing the images of guts draping against the side of the tub, blood still dripping from the ceiling, a cut from his neck pouring a huge amount of blood, his eyes..his eyes…

"You ready, my Cherry Bloom?" Boomer said popping into her view as she let out a scream.

"Oh dear, you scared her." Bubbles said while crossing her arms and getting a laugh out of Boomer.

"I'm so sorry, young Blossom. I thought you saw me." Boomer said placing his hand on her shoulder seeming to calm the frighten girl down.

"I'm ok I just…" Blossom tracked off not knowing what to say. She had seen something like this before, a hallucination, but it was always her parents. Imagining their death over and over again always happened since she found out about it; but who was that? Was it maybe the guy she wished had be dead instead of her parents? Gosh, she didn't wish to see that ever again!

"Dance with us." Bubbles smiled while Blossom started hearing Giovanni Cavaccio's piece, but seemed to be sped up. Bubbles spun her around and dripped her as they glided along the hall. Blossom could feel as smile creeping on her face as she was passed to Boomer. The charming smile and the light feeling of dancing made the wide grin on Blossom's face return as Boomer lead the dance into her room.

"Haha, this is so fun!" Blossom laughed hearing the music fade away and seeing the clothes that she wore here were cleaned and fixed laying across a chair. Bubbles had picked her up and laid her in the bed as Boomer gently took of her shoe off one by one. "I'm so happy…please tell me I'm not dreaming."

"You are not." Bubbles said while laying down next to her and starting to hum a song her mother used to sing when she would put her to bed.

"Can we stay here forever?" Blossom yawned as Boomer laid on her other side as he seemed to continue reading a book that she and her father had started.

"Yes, we can." Boomer whispered while going back to the book as Blossom's eyes started getting heavy.

"As long as you abandon having that hope of escaping us this time, ok?" they both said just as Blossom nodded off to sleep. "…That's a yes, huh?"
