It was the next morning and Zoey had ignored anyone that tried to contact her she just didnt want to talk to anybody it was a lot to take in the new news of having a twin brother.
She looked over at her phone and could see the missed calls and messages from Lola and her boyfriend she ignored them and got up and got ready for school as she got ready and grabbed her back pack she opened her bedroom door to see her enstranged twin brother on the other side coming out of his room he gave her a nod as she gave him a nervous smile and walked on in the hall to the kitchen.
Kyleigh was eating breakfast when she saw Zoey walking in the kitchen "hey want some breakfast" she asked.
"No thanks im not hungry" she replied.
"You didnt eat yesterday either you cant go without eating" Kyleigh said in concern.
"Im fine I promise" replied Zoey.
"Well as soon as I finish breakfast we can go onto school dad is taking him" said Kyleigh rolling her eyes.
"Actually I already have a ride but thanks" she replied as she heard the doorbell Zoey went to the door and Lola was on the other side and before she could say anything Lola grabbed her arm "we need to talk now" and pulled her to the car.
"Whats your deal" asked Zoey.
"What happened you havent talked to me or your boyfriend and you all were supposed to go out last night" said Lola.
"My whole life my mom kept a secret from me I dont understand we tell each other anything but she never even mentioned that I had a twin brother" she replied.
"A twin brother how is he just now coming into the picture have you met him" asked Lola.
"He showed up at Zack's on our birthday" replied Zoey.
Lola kept looking at her expecting the rest of the story.
"When we were born they told mom he died but it turns out someone in the hospital stole him and mom knew about it she sued the hospital but mom never even told me he existed" said Zoey clearly angry.
"Maybe she did it so you wouldnt get your hopes up of finding him maybe it was hard to keep thinking of the child she lost maybe she focused on loving the child she had" said Lola.
"But I deserved to know he at least existed" said Zoey.
"Yes you did but maybe she was afraid you may try to look for him and she could lose you too" replied Lola
"Only your mom knows why she didnt tell you but you cant blame your brother for it, remember how Kyleigh blamed you for the affair when you were just a result remember when they gained up on you your brother is the only part of your mom's family you have left you need to get to know him, your mom would want you to stick together you at least had your mom he had nobody" said Lola.
"Your right he didnt ask for this either and think how confusing it must be for him" said Zoey.
Zoey looked down and Lola spoke again "its not just about you think of how excited he must have been to find his sister and then to be told she basically wants nothing to do with him you know how it feels to not be wanted put yourself in his shoes" said Lola.
"Im terrible I should have thought how he felt" said Zoey.
They then pulled up to the school "well go find him and talk to him" said Lola.
The two got out of the car and she saw him sitting at a table reading "hey can we talk?" She asked.
"We dont have to be friends" he began.
"No I was wrong blaming you, it wasnt your fault I could have gotten taken just as easily as you, you were a baby you couldnt help what happened." Said Zoey.
"Just like neither of us could help bring born out of an affair' he snapped.
"I dont have anything against you, you are my brother I was just hurt mom never told me I had the right to know you were out there" said Zoey.
"And what difference would it make if you knew about me what would you have looked for me and lost yourself in your life if you never found me thats why she never told you she wanted to protect you its not all about you, you at least knew mom I never met her once" he yelled slamming his hand on the table.
"Thats not my fault" cried Zoey.
"I wish I would never have met any of you the dreams are a lot better then the reality im out of here" he said.
"No you cant leave not now" she cried.
"At least my mom loved me which is more then I can say for any of you" said Jake getting up.
"Jake please" she begged.
"Go to hell you, Zack Kyleigh all of you" he yelled walking away.
Zoey then took off as fast as her legs could take her after him "please Jake you are the only part of my mom I have left."
She followed him until she reached the park and then she couldn't see him anymore she kept looking around for him until a woman got her attention "you looking for someone?"
"Yeah my brother we got in a fight and I have to find him" she replied.
"Wait your not Zoey Martin are you?" She asked.
Zoey had a weird feeling about this morning "actually Zoey Fizpatrick how do you know who I am?"
"Im sorry im an old friend of your dad's and you look so much like him yo have his eyes and his smile" she said walking over and carrising her face.
Zoey then stepped back "I better get back to school" she said starting to walk back.
"Wait dont you want to find your brother?" She asked stepping closer.
"I need to get to class" she said turning away from her.
"Id think long and hard on that" said the woman revealing a gun Zoey was frightened at this point.
Meanwhile Kyleigh was at lunch and noticed that her sister wasnt back yet and that it was almost time for lunch to be over she knew something had to be wrong...her mind went at ease when she saw Jake and ran up to him "hey did you and Zoey make up where is she?"
"Dont know nor care where that bitch is" said Jake.
"Hey that is my sister your talking about"snapped Kyleigh.
"Thats funny considering you wanted to get rid of her just like me" snapped Jake.
"This is serious what if shes in trouble" said Kyleigh.
"Shes eighteen dhe can take care of herself" he replied as the bell rang and he went to class.
She however had a feeling she was not okay and called her dad "hey dad I think Zoey is in trouble" she said.
Zoey was scared fo her life, she had no idea why this woman was trying to hurt her "is that real?" She stuttered
"Yes and if you want to live you will come with me...no questions we can find your brother he
had a good life with me, he got everything he ever wanted."
"You are the one who kidnapped my brother why did you do it why did you put my mom through that pain" asked Zoey.
"Your mother wouldnt have loved him, he looked just like Zack, your mother never loved Zack she always saw him as a child, a joke, a kid I always loved your dad appreaciated him a he was even when he was young" she began.
"Mom loved me she did everything for me, she would have done everything for him" said Zoey.
"Yeah like she kept you away from your father for her selfish benefit" said the woman.
"Like you stole my brother and my moms son away from her...what sick reason was that for" she asked.
"Hey bitch I could have taken you too your mother didnt deserve his children she used him and never loved him" said the woman.
"My mother did love him maybe not at the start but it grew" said Zoey.
"So what you had a stalker crush on my dad you were jeleous mom had his kid and you stole him that is insane..you are insane" yelled Zoey.
"Yea I am insane...my son was snatched from me so im taking Zack's precious little girl let him experience what I did so soon after getting you in his life" she said holding up her gun.
The woman then felt someone grab her hands from behind "you hurt one head on my daughters head I will kill you" she turned around to not see Zack like she thought it was Maya.
Zoey was shocked Maya had just called her, her daughter "who the hell are you?" Asked the woman.
"Im Maya Im Zack's wife and as far as im concerned shes one of my kids, as well as Jake and you have two seconds to get the hell out of here and never ever contact any of my children again ever" said Maya.
"You mean the child you treated like hell yeah I heard all about the hell you put her through" said the woman.
"Things were bad at one point but now I love that girl and will do anything for her" said Maya "I truly do love that girl."
Meanwhile Kyleigh ran up and hugged Zoey "im so glad your okay I knew something had to be wrong."
"She had a gun I was so scared" said Zoey.
"Everything is fine now" said Kyleigh.
A few seconds later sirens were heard and everything was a blur the woman was taken into custody and the three girls went home.
They walked into the house and Zack ran up to them "thank god you all are okay I was in a meeting and just got Kyleighs voicemail...so did they catch the kidnapper is she in jail" asked Zack.
"Yeah her name is Agnus do you know anyone with that name"asked Maya.
"Yea she was crazy she had a major crush on me in middle school I never thought she would go as far as kidnapping my kids just to have a part of me" said Zack.
"So she didnt care about me then" said Jake walking out of his room.
"She did it to hurt me she went as far as to kidnap Zoey as long as it was my child im sorry you had to go through that" said Zack.
"Its going to take some time to absorb all this to think someone you love doesnt love you" said Jake.
"But you have us and you have your mother who would have loved you just like she did Zoey" said Zack.
"If you could describe mom in one sentence what would that be?" Asked Jake.
"The most selfless kind hearted woman I know" said Zack.
The two men smiled.
Zoey was in her room sitting on her bed when there was a knock at her door "come in" she said.
Maya opened it and walked in "hey crazy day huh?"
"Yeah cant believe at eighteen someone tried to kidnap me" said Zoey.
"I couldnt forgive myself if something happened to you, when Kyleigh said you were in trouble something came over me I was terrified I wanted to make sure you were safe" said Maya.
"You called me your daughter" said Zoey.
"I know I will never be the mother Maddie was and im not trying to take place and never will but ive grown to love you like my own and I hope someday I can love Jake too you are a part of my husband and you are a wonderful young lady with a huge heart and a bigger future ahead I know you will do amazing things and I want to be a part of this journey I want to cheer you on when you do great things and pick you up when you fail I love you Zoey and I hope you have room in your heart for one more person in your life as family or as a friend."
I love my mom more than anything but that doesnt mean I dont have room for another person in my life I love you too Maya" said Zoey.
The two of them hugged it wasnt like any other interaction they had it was genuine like they finally had an understanding that they truly cared for one another like the war was finally over.
