Jack came to me and I look at him. "Cousin." I see his smile. I lay the microphone down and step off the stage as I smile back at him. "Can you forgive me for all those years that I've been an asshole to you?" I can see that he really means those words. In the past I wouldn't have forgiven him, but we can start over and now it seems the perfect time for that. "I forgive you. We can start over if you want." I see a grin appearing. "As brothers?" I nod. "As brothers." Jack grabs me in a tight hug and I pat his back a few times. "Thank you so much, brother." I let him go and look at him with a smile. "Let's sit down, I still need to eat." He chuckles.
"The food is really delicious, it's hard for me to keep my hands off." "Let yourself go this evening, brother, it's celebrations." I walk to the table. Jack smiles brightly as he steps onto the stage. He takes the microphone and wants to say something when Philip stands up and walks to me. He stands still in front of me, making me stop walking to Frances. I look at him, without a smile. My family looks at us. Mary sighs deeply, making mom to look at her. Philip crosses his arms as he checks me out. "This, really?" "What do you mean?" "I mean everything, I thought you and I were the same." I inhale deeply as I keep watching his well-groomed face. "You're famous and rich, why do you even want to live here?"
My brothers, dad and Carlos are standing up now. Mom takes dad's hand and stands up as well. "You never will understand. Not even when I would tell you in detail why." "You think I'm stupid?" I see his frown. "I never thought that, you're just ignorant about the rest of the world." I didn't want an argue or a fight. So, I wanted to walk around him, but he lays his hand on my chest to stop me. I look down at his hand and back up at his face. "I can see the rest of the world." "I know you can see the rest of the world, but do you really see it? You're no family of mine, not as long as you think you're better than everyone else." I point at him. He looks at my hand. "If you want to be the same as I, then drop the entitled rich attitude first." "I'm glad she got rid of you. She deserves better than some sort of low cowboy like you." I grab his hand tightly and pull it away with force. I can see it hurts him, but he tries not to show it.
"Don't you ever lay a hand on me again. If you want her so bad, why don't you go to LA and fuck her again? Like you did in my bedroom at the ranch." He sees my cold expression. I keep looking at his face. "You're no family of mine." I whisper and push his hand away. He quickly rubs it with his other hand. I look at my family and see the tensions. I start to smile as I walk to them. Mom grabs my face and gives me a kiss on my forehead. I look at her and give her a kiss on her cheek. Mary stands up and looks at me. I see her smiling. I frown a little. "Thank you, Johnny." "Why so?" She came closer and takes my hand. I keep looking at her face. "For telling my son the truth, ever since we got here, he has gotten worser than he was before." I give her a nod only. "I know very well that he's acting like a spoiled and entitled man. I haven't raised him to be like this, he became like this when his father died, when he inherited a huge part of the money."
I give her a kiss on her cheek to make her stop talking. "It's alright, aunt Mary, you don't have to justify yourself." She starts to smile again. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go to my girlfriend." She nods. I look at mom and give her another kiss on her cheek. I went to Frances. She stands up and I hold my breath as I look at her up and down. She's having a silver gala gown on. It has small straps on top and it shows her perfect figure. I feel my need growing as I watch her. She chuckles softly when she sees my expression. "You're so beautiful, Baby." I hold my hands up, she takes them but keeps looking at my face. "You're looking gorgeous, back to the one I'm used to look at." I chuckle softly as I step closer to her. I let her hands go and lay mine on her hips. Her hands went up and she feels the smoothness of my skin.
"You're perfect." She whispers. I lean in and start to kiss her deeply. She lays her arms around my neck and lifts a leg up as she kisses me back. I lay my arms around her and inhale deeply before I hold my breath. My brothers and my old friends start to whistle and cheer at us. I didn't want to stop kissing her, but I feel her starting to giggle. I lift my head up to look at her face. "I love you." I whisper. One of her hands went to my cheek. I look in her eyes and lick my lips a little. "I love you too." She whispers. I smile and start to kiss her again. Bryan and Sean stand up and came to us. I stop the kiss and look at them. "Hey, boys." Sean and Bryan grab me into a hug. I smile as I hug them back while I look at Frances. "We need to eat something, dad." Bryan let me go. "Get yourself some food, I'll take some in a bit."
Bryan nods and looks at Sean with a smile. "Come, brother." Bryan says. Sean smiles widely as they walk away. Marge stands up to greet me. I look at her and give her a kiss on her cheek. Frances smiles as she watches me. "I love your outfit, Johnny, it's so you." I chuckle about it. "My son wanted this. I first wanted to wear a suit." Frances giggles. "You look better like this." I look at her and start kissing her again. Marge smiles as she watches us. Mom came closer, Marge looks at her. "I'm glad you're here too, Marge." "Me too, Cath, you've outdone yourself." Mom chuckles and looks at us kissing. "I'm happy our children are together." Marge says. "Me too, it was about time. Took them long enough." Marge chuckles. Mom looks at her again with a smile. "Come, join my sister and I for a nice drink and a nice conversation. I want you to meet her." Marge nods and they went to sit down next to Mary.
Penny and Billy came to us. I stop the kiss and look at Penny with a smile. I see her smiling brightly as she checks me out. "You look gorgeous." I chuckle and grab her into a hug. She pats my back a little. I look at Billy and hug him as well. "We really thought you would've left Pampa." Billy says as I let him go. "I just had a really relaxing afternoon with my son after we dumped Britney at the airport. I don't look much on my phone to be honest. I saw the messages when we were back at the ranch." "Tell us about it." I see their curious faces, including Frances'. "Bryan and I had a plan to make it look like we would be going back to LA with her and she fell for it." Billy chuckles a little.
"When we arrived at the airport, we've put her luggage on the sidewalk. It was then that she noticed that we haven't taken our suitcases with us." I'm gonna leave the conversation we had in the car behind. There's no need to tell them about that. "I told her that we're done. She made drama of course, she even threw the engagement ring at me." Penny chuckles about it. Frances takes my hand. I look at her with a smile. "When she wanted to take Bella out of the car. Bella snarled and growled at her." "Even the little dog hates her." I nod at Billy. "Mom told me that she's pregnant." I look at Frances and smile.
"She is, we'll be needing to go back to Martin in two weeks for a check-up." "Rosco, you old bastard." Billy says out of nowhere. I start to laugh about it. "I'm going to get myself some food." Penny gives me a kiss on my cheek. "Oh, so smooth." She whispers as she touches my cheek. I chuckle about it. I look at Frances and give her a kiss before I went to the buffet. Penny looks at Frances with a smile. "It's so good to see that he's happy of being with you." Frances looks at her and smiles. "Thanks, Pen, I'm just really happy he's mine now." Penny chuckles. "Come, ladies, let's sit down and have a drink." Billy says with a smile.
I look at the food and smile. I take some vegetables, some potato salad too. "Your father told me to make the ribs for you." I look up and see Rob smiling. "Did he told you his recipe?" He chuckles. "No, I wish, but he had marinated them already when he came to bring them to me." I chuckle as well. That's typical my father. "He told me that his kids love his ribs and he wanted you to have them today." "Get me a plate then." Rob laughs and walks away. I take some bread and lay it on the plate I'm holding. Hank came to me and takes some bread. "You're looking really good, Dancer." I look at him and smile. "Thanks, mate." I look around as I wait for Rob to come back with my ribs. "Say, if you open up the dance school, I'll be getting more customers as well." I look at him and smile. "Is business going so bad for you? I saw your wife working at the diner earlier today." Hank smiles. "She doesn't have to work. She just wants to."
Rob came back with a plate. "It smells so good." He smiles as he hands me the plate. "Thanks, mate." "You're welcome, I hope we can have a drink at Hank's sometime." Hank smiles brightly. "Just like good old days, watching the games together." I think about those times. I smile. "Looking forward to that." I turn and want to walk to the table. Hank holds me. I look at him. "It's really good to have you back." "Let's have a drink later, okay? Then we can talk business too. I want to hear all the stories of what you've been doing the last decade." He smiles. "All right, Dancer." "If you don't mind, I'm gonna eat these delicious ribs now." Hank chuckles about my face as I walk back to the table. My parents look at me with a smile. Frances giggles about my face as I start eating. I look at Jamie and smile as I see him smooching with Bianca. I clean my right hand on the napkin. I put my index finger and thumb in my mouth and whistle loudly at them.
Jamie laughs out loud as he looks at me. I give him a grin. Bianca giggles as she lays her hand on his chest while she looks at me. Jack looks at the family with a smile, he actually wanted to say something but sees no chance to do so. He looks at Frances and me. He smiles as he watches her feeding me some bread. Susan walks to him. He turns his head to look at her with a smile. Then they look back at the family. "They love you no matter what." She whispers. He inhales deeply. "I looked up to Dancer so much. I just wanted to fit in… and I thought I was doing it right." "It will be fine. You want a beer?" He looks at her face and nods. She takes him with her to the table.
I look around and see so many familiar faces. I see old Maverick talking to dad and Ben. They're laughing about something. I see mom talking to Mary and Marge. Franny is talking to Bianca. Jamie is only smiling as he listens to their conversation while Carlos went to get Franny some juice. I turn my head a little. I see uncle Paul. I look at Billy. "Your father is here, cuz." Billy looks at me. "I know, I've been introducing Pen and Kaylie already." "It's been such a long time ago." "That's very true, cuz, I'm happy that I see him again, but he'll be going back to Houston soon." "Don't you want to visit him?" "If your plan works, I won't be having the time, but dad said he will come and visit us sometime." I smile about it and eat on. These ribs are beyond delicious.
The evening goes on with a lot of laughter and smiles. I can see a lot of happy faces, especially my son's, Sean's and Frances'. It just feels like I'm not in reality now. I finally have a complete family and I'm getting a warm feeling inside my chest. I inhale deeply and sip some from my beer. I had joined my friends and my brothers in on a conversation. I watch Frances talking to Sean and Bryan. They smile at her and give her a kiss on her cheek. I watch them going to their friends. I see Frances looking at me. She slowly came to me. I turn a little as I admire her body. I see her giving me that little smile and I smile back at her. Kevin whistles when he sees Frances coming. I ignore him.
When she's close to me, I hold my hand up and she lays her hand on mine. We keep looking in each other's eyes. The moment got disturbed when people start moving aside. Ben stands up and Sean looks up. He quickly stands up and went to his mother. "Dad, what are you doing here?" I look at Will and see his face. He sees me and then looks at Frances. "You're looking very beautiful, Baby." Frances turns to him and crosses her arms. "Son." Ben says. Will didn't react as he can't keep his eyes off Frances. I move closer to her as I feel the need to protect her. "What are you doing here?" Sean asks him again. Will looks at his son and tries to give him a smile. "You look happy, son." Sean sighs and looks at me. I look at him and lay my hand on his shoulder. "Why did you came to Pampa, Will?" Frances asks. Will looks around and then back at Frances.
"I heard about the anniversary, but that's not the reason." "What's the reason?" She asks. I could hear the coldness in her voice. Ben wanted to go to his son, but dad holds him back. Bryan came to me and I lay my other hand on his shoulder. Will looks at us. "So, Johnny is back in Pampa and you couldn't wait to get him?" I start to frown about it. "What the hell are you talking about? I'm free to choose with whom I want to be. You chose someone else when we were still married." He looks at her and puts his hands in his pockets. "Don't you need to go to your witch?" Sean asks. He crosses his arms and Bryan looks at him. "I'm not with her anymore." We all look surprised, except for Frances. "Why am I not surprised? What did you do?" Will snorts and shakes his head. "Nothing, she was the one cheating." "Karma is a bitch." Sean whispers. Bryan lays his hand on Sean's shoulder.
"Is that the reason you came? Because your girlfriend dumped you?" I lay my arm around her waist and could feel the tensions in her body. She looks at me and I look in her eyes. We look back at Will. "No, I came back because I want another chance with you." I keep watching his face. What an asshole! So, he got dumped and thinks he can get back with Frances after three years? Not happening on my watch. "What makes you think I would give you another chance?" Will inhales deeply. "Because we have a son together, and I actually didn't want to let him go home." Frances snorts. "You told me that you didn't mind." Will looks at his son, who has moved himself more to me. "Sean, come to me. Don't you want to give your father a hug?" Sean didn't react. I move myself in front of my family. I'm getting really frustrated with people who want to make drama.
Will looks at my face. I move a little closer to him and cross my arms. "What? He's my son, not yours." "Johnny." Frances says in a soft voice. I inhale deeply and take a step back. I don't want to have a fight, but I will fight if necessary. "So, you want to be an example for my son? You? Look at your reactions. I don't want my son to get near you." Will points at my chest. "Don't tempt me." I warn him. I drop my arms and make fists. Will looks over my shoulder at Frances, who is still looking at him with a cold face. "Come on, Baby, I know you've always been in love with him, but we had a good life together." "You said that right, we had, but I'm with Johnny now." Will looks at me for a second. I keep watching his face as I flex my arms a little. I'm not letting him get any closer to my family. "I always got compared to him…" Everyone is looking at the situation now. "How he would be better in things than I would be." "That's right, I'm better in taking care of her as well."
Will snorts about it. "I want my son." He tries to walk around me, but I lay my hand on his chest to stop him. "Don't you dare to come closer to my family." He looks down at my hand and then up at Frances and his son before he looks back at me. "You can't decide for my son what's best for him." Sean had enough of this. "Stop it, dad! You're the one who left us because you always think only about yourself before you even think about me! If you cared so much, you wouldn't have left my life for some crazy witch!" He starts to cry from frustrations. Frances tries to comfort him, but he didn't want a hug. He looks from his father to me and back at him. "Johnny is more father to me than you've been the last three years! I want him to be my father! Also, he's the best that mom ever will have!" I drop my attitude and turn around to look at him. He looks at me, he came to me and hugs me. I smile a little as I hug him back.
Sean let me go and looks at his father. "Go back to LA, dad, you don't have anything to do here anymore." He turns and walks away. Bryan quickly walks after him. I look at Frances and see her face. I see tears and I went to her. She looks in my eyes as I rub her tears away. "I'll never let anything happen to you, I promise." She grabs my head and pulls me in. We kiss and Will looks at us. Dad let Ben's shoulder go. He went to his son and lays his hand on Will's shoulder, making him to look at his father. "Son." Ben says without a smile. "Dad, I'm sorry to disturb the party." Ben sighs. "You should say sorry to John, not me." Will looks at dad. "Come, then we can talk a bit." Ben takes his son outside. Mom looks at us and then at dad. "Why is there always drama around our youngest?"
"It isn't any different from when you were young." He looks at her and then starts to chuckle about it. "I love you." He gives her a kiss. "I didn't know that Sean would see my son as his father already." Mom smiles as she looks at us for a moment. "He called me mawmaw this morning." Dad didn't react but he keeps looking at her smiling face. "I'm pretty sure he has found his home. Our son will be the best father he will need." Dad turns his head to look at Sean who is sitting on a chair, crying, while Bryan tries to enlighten his mood a little. "The boy has gone through so much. I hope you're right." "Give it time, everything will be alright."
Lucy and Amy went to the boys and try to make a conversation. I stop the kiss and look at her. She lays her arms around my waists, and her head against my chest. I give her a kiss on her head. She smiles as she looks at her son. "This feels so good." She whispers. "Everything with you feels good." I whisper. She tilts her head, so she can look at my face again. "You were so hot the way you wanted to protect us." I chuckle about it. "No one touches my family." She giggles and gives me a soft kiss. "It sounds so good." I smile as I let my fingers push some hair behind her hair. The boys came to us and we look at them. "Feeling a bit better, son?" She asks as she let me go. Sean hugs his mother with a little smile. Then he came to me for a hug. Bryan hugs Frances as well. She smiles at him. I see Hank, Roberta and Lucy approaching.
"We're going home, it's late. Lucy wanted to say good night." Hank says and gives me a wink. I smile as I look at Lucy who is looking at Bryan. He turns and smiles at her. "Princess? Don't you want to ask something?" She looks at her father and then at me. "Is it okay if Bryan and Sean can come to the bar tomorrow? We'll be having a sleepover with some other friends." Bryan and Sean look at me. I look at Frances. I see her smiling. She gives me a little nod. I look back at Lucy. "Sure, that's no problem." Bryan's smile got brighter. Sean smiles widely as well and hugs me again. Lucy went to Bryan and gives him a kiss on his cheek. "I see you tomorrow, Bryan." She then walks away with her mother. I look at Hank. "Have a good night, old friend." I say with a grin. He chuckles and gives me a short hug. He looks at Frances and gives her a kiss on her cheek. "Good night." He walks away. "Go to your friends, boys. I would like to have a moment with your mother alone." I wink at them. They smile and run away.
I look at Frances and turn. She smiles as she moves herself against me. I inhale deeply and lay my arms around her waists. She lays her arms around my neck. Her hands play with the hair on the back of my head. "I love you so much." I whisper. She smiles. "My man forever." She giggles a little as I press her a little more against me. Then I lean in and kiss her with all the love I feel for her.
THE END
