After their Date, Franky and Robin went on countless others. This went on for weeks. The crew found it sweet. Sanji was still butt hurt and upset by this, but Franky was a man of his word and remodeled and repaired the kitchen. Eventually, Sanji gave in and understood that Robin was in good hands.
It was a sunny day on the ship. The birds were chirping and the ocean shined brightly. Franky and Robin sat at a table outside. Robin was reading a book while Franky was working on a new blueprint with Cola on the table. You could call this a date, but really, they were just hanging out. Franky leaned back in his chair, sighing. He took a swig of Cola, drinking it. He then turned to Robin.
"So...tell me. What made you say yes to me the first time?" He asked. "What did you mean by you were happy I asked? You laughing SUPER freaked me out..." He stated.
Robin, setting her book down, took a moment to gather her thoughts.
"You see...I've been in love with you for a long time now. It's quite silly, I know..." She states. Franky chuckled a bit.
"Not really...but please, go on." He stated. Robin cleared her throat, trying to gather the right thoughts and words needed.
"That time...on the sea train...that's the moment I fell in love with you. For the first time in my entire life, someone didn't call my existence a crime. In fact, you said that it's never a sin to exist. For so long, I've wanted to hear those words, even if I didn't believe them myself. And here you were...saying it." She says, leaning back in her chair. "That's probably when I realized I had a deep love for you...even though I've never met you. You were the first person to tell me my life wasn't a sin or a crime. That my life was worth something. And as the events transpired, that love I had for you grew more and more. The way you would defend me against Spandam's threats and abuse. How you tried to help me get back to Luffy and the others." She smiled. "Then we got trapped together in that room and we talked for who knows how long...we shared similar pasts. How the world government both ruined our lives." She states. "Then you threatened to blow your yourself up and rescued me onto the ledge. I have to say, that was quite amusing. Fufufu~" She laughed.
Robin looked up at the bright blue sky, continuing with her recollection of the past.
"There were my friends, telling me to live. And as I told them my dream of wanting to live and wanting to go back to sea with them, you appeared once again." She states, looking at Franky. "You stood there with the Pluton blueprints in your hand, telling me everything you knew about me was a lie. That I was more than that..." She smiled. "It was hard not to fall more in love with you after that..." She states. "Afterwards, I was dragged onto the bridge by Spandam and after a while...there you were. I was devastated and shocked when explosions riddled the bridge where you were. I feared the worst..." She says, raising up her sunglasses from her eyes.
"Oh come on, you gotta at least give me some credit! I'm SUPER, you know!" Franky replied, grinning.
"Fufufu~ I know." Robin smiled, looking at Franky.
"So...imagine my surprise when I escaped Spandam and was almost shot and there you where, protecting me. You stood in front of me, using your body to block the bullets. I was in awe and at that point, my love for you grew deeper." She stated. "Here you were, taking bullets for a woman you barely knew and stopping Spandam's Elephant Sword with your bare hands, smashing him with it...I was amazed." She laughed. "Then, Usopp started sniping and sent us the red cloth full of Keys. Keys that you and my crew fought CP9 for. If I wasn't already amazed before, I was now. You set me free and we fought together. It was almost like a dream...a dream come true." She stated. "We fought countless people. Government agents, Marines, Navy, etcetera. Side by Side. I wouldn't have had it any other way..." She said, Franky blushing at this. "Then we escaped to the Merry and you caught me. I had to say, I was happy at that. You were there for the burning of our comrade, which I find thankful. Then we went back to Water 7 where you offered to build us a ship. You did and I couldn't be happier. Especially when your Franky Family came wanting Luffy to take you with us to sea, to which our captain already decided he would do so. Imagine my disappointment when you refused to go with us. I couldn't lose a treasure like you and being a pirate now, I couldn't let that treasure get away. So I did what I had to..." She winked at Franky, who shivered in a cold sweat.
"Uh...y-yeah..." He stated.
Robin took a glass of juice, drinking it. She still looked into the sky.
"I gave you your excuse to cry, which made you forgive yourself and join us. I was happy for that. Afterwards, we did everything together. Thriller Bark, Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa..." She smiled. "Every moment we were together, I couldn't help but fall more in love with you. The way you never give up. How you're never afraid to cry. Your freedom to never wear pants. Fufufu~" She says. "I especially admire how, after 2 years, you entertain the younger ones on the crew. Like I said, you haven't changed a bit Franky..." She smiled. "I always wanted to know if you shared the same feelings I did. Imagine my surprise when you asked me out on a date. I was so happy, I couldn't help but laugh. My apologies." She said.
Franky took a minute to process all this.
He then grinned wide.
"So all this time, we've been in love with each other and didn't even know it? SUPER funny, if you ask me. But you know what?" He states. "I'm glad it worked out like it did..." He smiles.
They both held hands across the table, leaning back in their chairs.
It was a nice sunny day.
