The Magic of Bathing Suits

The girls had invited him to a beach party to celebrate the beginning of summer.

Ledo had now been living on Gargantia for about a year and was adjusting well to his new life.

He had been working hard at his new salvage job with Bellows, but he was looking forward to taking a break. Ledo remembered his first beach party and how much fun it was (minus getting hunted down by transvestites). The girls had looked amazing in their bathing suits, though none more so than Amy (maybe he was a little biased).

Amy had matured in the last year and Ledo couldn't help the quickening of his heart when he thought of what she might look like now in a bathing suit.

Ledo rushed to the beach, passing by many of the ship's residents who waved hello to him.

Soon he saw the swelling turquoise waves crashing into the sand.

Music was flowing from the radio brought by Bebel and Ledo could see Saaya and Melty in their suits dancing to the music. Bellows and Ridget were sitting under an umbrella chatting and laughing about something Ledo couldn't hear.

"Hey Ledo!" Saaya waved him over.

"Good to see you takin' a break finally Hottie!" Melty teased.

"Where is Amy?" Ledo asked kindly.

Both girls smiled at each other knowingly.

"She had one last delivery to make and then she should be here," Saaya answered.

"What? We are not good enough for you Hottie?" Melty teased.

Ledo blanched, "No, no. I did not mean to offend-"

"Easy there Ledo, yeesh I thought by now you'd be able to take a joke!" Melty laughed.

"Oh," Ledo's cheeks turned slightly pink in his embarrassment. Even though he had been on Gargantia for a year and had adjusted well, there still a few things that escaped him. Like sarcasm. That had gotten him in trouble couple of times (but that's another story).

"Hey guys!"

"Amy you're here!" Yelled Saaya.

"Finally!" Joked Melty.

Ledo stiffened up as he heard Amy approach. Finally the moment he had been waiting for!

"Oh my God! Pinion!" Screamed our the normally calm Ridget while Bellows doubled over in laughter.

Melty wolf whistled, Saaya cat called.

"Laugh it up! Laugh it up!"

"Ugh, Pinion, why are you wearing THAT?!" Screamed Amy, trying to block her eyes from the image.

There stood Pinion in a tight red speedo with a bandanna around his neck.

" let it never be said that I don't pay when I lose a bet!" Huffed Pinion crossing his arms.

"So this was what you were talking about," said Ridget looking at Bellows, trying to contain her laughter.

"Yep! Hot shot over there but me he would make the next good salvage find, two hours later I was telling him he was wrong!" Bellows chortled, trying not to snort.

""Alright, you had your fun, can I get out of this thing now?" Pinion whined.

"In just a sec, first you have to turn around"

The whole beach erupted in laughter. Across the backside of the speedo in bold print it read: BELLOWS WON!

Amy was laughing so hard she was using Ledo for support (not that he minded).

When the laughter finally died down and the pictures were taken as Pinion stomped off to change clothes, Ledo finally turned to Amy.

And his jaw dropped.

Standing there in a fitted, filled out string bikini was Amy, tanned skin gleaming with sweat and a beautiful smile on her face.

She tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

"So Ledo, you ready to go swimming?"

All Ledo could do was nod and let her pull him towards the water.

They swam, played Marco Polo and had water fights with everyone.

As the day wound down they all sat on the sand to watch the sun set. As Amy and Ledo sat side by side and watched the sun set Amy yawned and leaned into Ledo.

And as the sun set and the stars made their debut Ledo sported a huge smile and wondered when the next beach party was.
