As Luke entered the Solo house hold he was greeted by Ahsoka Tano as she watched him with suspicion causing him to frown. "Hi Ahsoka, tell me again about how you found dad and Obi-Wan trapped in a gundark's nest with a blocked entrance. It appears that dad is still in denial."
Ahsoka smirked and shook her head no. "Maybe later," she answered as Luke heard Anakin groan in disbelief. "There's something different about you. Did your other self wake up?"
Luke nodded as he glanced at Mara who looked very confused. "Yeah, when Leia and I jumped back through the time wormhole, we woke up here instead of there. Dad unblocked and combined both sets of memories into one considering this looks to be permanent."
"I'm happy to see you both trust him enough, he told me what would've happened to him if you didn't intervene like you had," Ahsoka gave a smirk as Anakin watched her with a warning expression. "Did I ever tell you the time about how he lost Artoo to a junk dealer and had to deal with Artoo's replacement who turned out to be a spy?"
"Don't you dare, Ahsoka," Anakin warned as she ignored his plea and led Luke to the couch as he sat down beside Mara who gave him a disbelief expression.
"In your other life, Luke. Did you have a wife?" Mara questioned with a tinge of jealousy lacing her tone causing Luke to nod.
"I did, and she was you," Luke answered honestly with a smile as he took Ben from Mara. "Before we jumped through the time wormhole, Ben was thirteen years old."
"Really?" Mara questioned in a curious tone as Luke felt her reach out to Ben withdrawing a sharp breath. "You may have memories when you're fourteen but that doesn't give you the right to cause deliberate mischief. We'll be able to get Ben into a fast track program."
"He really takes after you, Mara," Luke explained with a small smile. "He has your wit and sharp tongue, sparkling personality and hair, the rest is all me. I'm grateful I still have him. I was terrified I might loose him altogether."
"This will be an adjustment," Mara admitted with a frown as Luke nodded in agreement. "As long as you're my farm boy…."
"Farm boy?" Luke questioned in a curious tone. "You always called me farm boy but I didn't think it would be in this time frame."
"You're always helping out Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen and they left the dwelling to you," Mara explained with a small smile. "I'm guessing part of this didn't change."
"No it didn't," Luke answered honestly. "I love you, Mara and our son Ben."
"I love you too, Luke," Mara glanced at Ahsoka with a smirk. "How about that story, Ahsoka?"
"Don't you dare," Anakin commanded as Ahsoka grinned. "Ahsoka, are you listening to me?"
"Nope," Luke smirked as Ahsoka gave a mischief expression. "I'm curious to hear this story."
"Anakin's ship had been shot during a battle against Grievous, and by the time we found Anakin's fighter a junk dealer had picked up Artoo. We talked to the junk dealer who was in the area and he told us no to having an Artoo unit. Later we learned he lied about it. By the time we got back to the Defender they had delivered a different R4 unit, he was gold in color. I called him Goldie and Anakin called him stubbie."
"And Stubbie attempted to get me killed every chance he got, he turned out to be a spy for Grievous. I wouldn't be surprised if he was programmed by Palpatine himself," Anakin explained with a frown. "Artoo got the best of him at the end."
"Good old Artooie," Ahsoka said with a small smile as Anakin nodded in agreement.
"No wonder you don't like telling that story," Luke observed with a frown. "After that I wouldn't either, but something tells me humorous fighting came from this. You and Ahsoka fight like a brother and sister."
"You remember that?" Anakin questioned as Luke nodded. "I do view Ahsoka like a sister and a daughter."
"I view Anakin like a brother and father," Ahsoka explained with a smile. "I don't remember my parents much. I was abandoned when I was two."
"I'm sorry to hear that, Ahsoka," Leia gave her a sympathy expression. "And now you have our family to think of as your own."
"I do think of you as my family, and I'm grateful for that," Ahsoka explained with a smile as Padme entered the room with a concerned expression as Anakin gave her a reassuring smile. Relief crossed his mothers facial features as Luke stood up and brought Padme into a hug. "I love you, mom."
"I love you too, Luke," Padme returned the hug as Leia stood up approached them. Padme released Luke and hugged Leia tightly to her.
"I always wanted to get to know you better, and now I have that chance," Leia said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Lets go shopping, just the two of us," Padme suggested. "Then go for lunch?"
"I would love that," Leia agreed as she took a step back then glanced at Anakin with a guilty expression.
"I don't like shopping unless it's a tools shop, you just enjoy yourself with Padme," Anakin gave a reassuring smile as Han and Luke perked up. "Or maybe we can go to that new hardware store I've been hearing so much about. Let's go check it out."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Luke agreed with a smile then turned his attention back to Mara.
"I can stay here and look after Ben, I have a feeling this is needed between you two," Mara answered with a slight smile. "Besides, you could always change Ben before leaving."
"Deal," Luke gave a smile as he walked towards Mara and took Ben from her as Ben starting giggling. "Wait until you have kids, Ben. You won't find this amusing anymore.'
Ben fell silent causing Luke to grin as he headed towards the bedroom.
Anakin looked over the hydro spanners causing him to frown. He needed one specific size but to this day, no one seemed to have it in stock or know how to order it in. He felt frustration well up in him, he was beginning to suspect he was never going to get his Jedi Star fighter fixed. Not unless he tried a secondary shop, even that seemed like a long shot.
"Still can't find that size?" Han questioned in curiosity as Anakin nodded in agreement. "I do have it aboard the Falcon, if you ever want to borrow it…"
"Han, you know I've been looking for one for a while now, and you're just mentioning this now?" Anakin questioned in a testy tone as Han shook his head sadly.
"I was going to surprise you with it," Han answered easily. "I did find it in a secondary shop a couple of days ago."
Anakin felt a little guilty as he glanced at his son-in-law. Maybe he would be able to fix the fighter after all. "Thanks Han, I appreciate it and yes I would love to borrow it. I can finally fix my fighter."
"Your Jedi Star Fighter?" Luke questioned as he walked up beside Anakin. "I prefer my x-wing."
"What's an X-wing?" Anakin questioned as Luke drew in a sharp breath.
"No X-wings?" Luke questioned sounding shocked as Anakin nodded. "It's the upgraded version of the Arc-170, X-83, and Z95 Headhunter. Are you telling me there is no x-wings?"
"Sorry," Anakin gave a apologetic expression. "There was no need to upgrade the fighters because the war ended. I'm sorry, Luke."
Luke paused for a second as his face contorted in concentration. "I fly a Jedi Star fighter?"
"Yes you do, you're an excellent pilot and a great mechanic," Anakin explained with a smile. "And a Jedi Master on the council and I'm very proud of you."
"Thanks dad," Luke grinned as he looked up at the hydro spanners. "What size are you looking for?"
"five and two thirds," Anakin answered honestly. "And to this day they don't make them any more. They're needed to repair star fighters, especially older outdated ones."
"Hmmm," Luke eyed the sizes and pulled one off the shelf. It was in the new metrics system but looked like it should be the correct fit. "Here."
Anakin paused for a second as he felt confusion as he looked at it. "I don't know, Luke…."
"May I help you gentlemen?" A floor sales person asked as he walked up to the trio with a smile.
"We're looking for size five and two-thirds," Luke explained with a frown. "I know we recently switched to the new metric systems. Can you explain which size is which now, please."
"It would be my pleasure," the man answered with a smile. "The one in your hand is five and two thirds, that one should do nicely."
"Here you go, dad," Luke smirked as Anakin teased slapped him on the shoulder. "I love you too."
Anakin smirked as he took the hydro spanner and thanked the sales clerk for his time as they headed towards the front of the store to pay for their purchases. He was happy to have a new hydro spanner in the correct size.
Leia looked at the lingerie her mother was holding up causing her to frown. No wonder Anakin liked Padme, she knew how to really spice things up in their relationship. Which is way more then she really wanted to know. "Is this to help keep dad entertained?"
"It makes Anakin go wild," Padme answered with a wink causing Leia to feel knots in her stomach. "I had to find ways to keep Anakin's mind off of you and Han when you were dating."
"That is more then I need to know," Leia shook her head sadly as Padme picked out something in Leia's size and held it up to her.
"You know, this would make Han go wild," Padme smirked teasingly.
"Mom, really?" Leia questioned in a whiny tone as she eyed the piece with an appraising eye. Padme was right, it would make Han go wild. "I'm guess it couldn't hurt trying it on." Leia took the piece and slipped into the dressing room.
Padme waited for Leia to emerge as she watched Bail approach them with a smile. "Bail, what a pleasant surprise. How did you find us?"
"I have my ways," Bail answered honestly. "Has Leia given my proposal any thought?"
"There is something you need to know," Padme said with a frown. "The other half woke up, the one you raised?"
"Really?" Bail questioned sounding a bit hopeful as Leia emerged from the dressing room.
"Leia, that looks amazing on you," Padme purred happily as Leia nodded in agreement. "Han won't be able to keep his eyes off of you."
"Thanks," Leia paused for a moment as her eyes landed on Bail. "Daddy?" She questioned as Bail nodded agreement. "I'm sorry I…"
"It's all right, Leia," Bail stopped her from speaking. "In fact, have you given my proposal some thought? As you know, Breha was not able to bear any children and we are hoping you would be the Queen of Alderaan? We know you would make a wonderful queen. We would be adopting you into the family and you would have to assume the name of Organa."
Leia looked at Padme with shock in her eyes. She assumed Bail and Breha would've adopted another girl in this life time, making her wonder what happened or why Bail held out for her. "Bail, I thought you would've adopted?"
"It's a long story, Leia," Bail answered with a frown. "The girl we adopted passed away two years ago. Winter was a wonderful daughter…"
"Winter?" Leia questioned sounding shocked. "She was my duplicate, when you didn't want anyone to know who I really was. We were close friends. She died?"
Padme felt her heart break as she watched Leia's face fall. She stepped forward and brought Leia into a hug. "I'm so sorry. Your father and I will stand by any decision you decide to make."
Leia paused for a second as she took a step back from Padme as she turned her attention to Bail. "I don't know," she hesitated. She finally had a real chance to get to know Anakin and Padme better. Bail just offered her to be his official daughter. "What about Anakin and Padme? I was dying to get to know my mother better and now I have this chance I thought I would never have."
"If you're worried about having to cut your family out of your life. I would never force you to do that. Breha and I could never come between you and your parents. We would require for you to live on Alderaan, and they can come visit any time."
"Really?" Leia questioned as she looked at Padme as Padme nodded in agreement.
"Leia, you and Han have been discussing this for a while now," Padme pointed out. "And Han is all for it. The children are old enough that they would have a better chance in settling now instead of later. Anakin and I have been thinking of purchasing a cottage near by the palace."
"I know the perfect spot for you and Anakin and the owner is getting ready to sell," Bail pointed out with a smile. "It would be my pleasure to purchase it for you and Anakin."
"Bail, I couldn't ask you to do that," Padme pointed out with a frown,
"Non sense, if we're to be family," Bail said with a smile.
"Why don't we head back to the Solo's where we can discuss this more in private," Padme suggested as Bail nodded in agreement.
"Sounds like a plan," Leia agreed as she slipped back into the changing room as Padme walked up to the cashier to pay her and Leia's purchases. She knew this would be a big change for Leia, but she also understood the hesitation. Leia never had the chance to get to know her and Anakin in the other time frame. She hoped Leia agreed to it, it sounds like she was prepared to be the Princess of Alderaan in her other life.
(No X-wings, hides.)
Thanks for the reviews, very much appreciated :)
Not bad all told but had to suspend disbelief on luke getting caught Leia would have been a better story choice probably would have made the relationship heal a good story with having to be saved by Anakin.
I've done where Anakin has rescued Leia more then a few times, so I decided it was Luke's turn ;) It also gave Leia a chance to get know how Anakin was before he turned to the dark side.
Anakin has been caught during the war and so has Luke. Jedi have their limits no matter how powerful they are.
I'm not sure I'm done with this story after all...
To be continued :D
Thanks for reading :)
