(Honest's specialty :P)
It was Wednesday, March 15th 2017, and Honest went into the classroom after lunch to find that Jet had forgotten to log out of her computer yet again. This time she didn't freak out like before. (In {w/Snow}) Instead she just complained to Espio about it and logged out for him. She kept trying to type a new part to her fanfiction, but nothing came to mind. Honest pulled up a cheezy, but strangely addictive bubble popping game to play while she thought.
Eventually Honest just decided to write about her day.
This morning, Honest and Shadow were almost made late by waiting on Sonic. Second period was a study hall for the rest of the week, so Scourge watched and gave suggestions as Honest worked on the second chapter of her newest book, {Limited Edition}. Third period was a pile of never-ending art projects. Fourth was lots and lots of definitions and giant cookies. Fifth period was nothing but snotty teachers and slimy tentacles. Who knew what would happen in the next two periods, geometry and photography?
Nothing really happened to Honest the rest of the day. Now Honest was walking with Shadow in the direction of the café. Sonic wasn't anywhere to be found, but that didn't mean that the faker wouldn't be waiting for them when they entered the back room. Honest looked over at Shadow's face as they walked, holding each other's hands. "Are you okay?"
"What do you mean by okay?" he said, his eyes meeting hers.
"I- I mean, like- are you dreading working today, or?"
"No, not really. At least, not any more than usual. Why?"
"I feel like-" Honest put her free hand to her chest. "Something will happen."
"You're almost always right," Shadow said. He turned to the left and pulled Honest behind the café. "Let's go around back."
We have a back door? I guess we do.
When they were at the back, there was a door waiting there. It was unlocked. Shadow opened the door and led Honest inside.
It was the kitchen. Honest went to open the door to the main room, but it was locked from the other side.
Shadow tried to turn the doorknob, but it didn't turn. "Well, this stinks."
Honest was a step ahead of him. She was crawling through the window where plates were passed through, head first.
Shadow smiled and carefully helped her get her comically-large, Sonic feet through the the window.
He followed her through into the main room. When he touched down on a light pink rug, he saw Honest at the counter, talking to Rouge. Oh. So we could've just- hmph.
"Why did you come from that way?" Rouge was asking Honest.
"I, uh, had a bad feeling," Honest said. She was reminded of the reason they had came that way and went to go investigate the back room. She opened the door and peeked inside...
Nothing. Honest went into the room and looked around.
"Maybe I was wrong this-" Suddenly something wet hit her nose. "Time?" She looked up.
"AAA!" Shadow and Rouge ran to the back room.
"Honest! What is-?" They had shown up just in time to see a large drop of strange, black goo fall from the ceiling onto Honest. "Help meee!"
Shadow shot an orb of chaos energy at the thing. It absorbed it like an... uh... absorber thingy! *facepalm*
Rouge suddenly had a hunch that maybe she knew what the creature was. She flipped on a light switch.
A rumbling noise erupted from within the mound of dark-colored liquid, and it began to shrink into the form of a hedgehog. It was now on top of Honest. It looked up at Shadow and Rouge, who were standing in the doorway with a look of disapproval. "Good afternoon."
"Mephiles! Get off!" Honest kicked at him. He melted partway and lept backwards about a foot. "Sorry, Cat."
"Hmph. You're never sorry enough," Honest said, crossing her arms while still on the floor.
"Come out here, Mephiles, while we get dressed into our uniforms," Shadow told him. Mephiles slipped out the door quietly. He couldn't feel ashamed because, as the embodiment of darkness, he could feel nothing emotionally, so none of them felt pain after seeing him leave looking so depressed.
Mephiles was trampled by customers and maids when he tried to open one of the front doors to escape. That whole... escapade took a lot longer than they had thought, and it was already 3:45 pm, when everyone knew to start showing up.
Honest, Shadow, and the rest of the employees got dressed in their uniforms and had little time to prepare for the busy day.
Okay, so they didn't actually work in this chapter, but they were at the café, so it does count as a chapter of {Café Edition}. The rest of the day was kind of boring. Not much to tell. Sonic didn't even show up, so yeah, nothing interesting. I would really appreciate it if you could check out my newest story, {Limited Edition}, which is getting a new chapter very soon.
(I don't know if I will end up uploading that story to here or not. It's sort and pointless for the most part.)
