3 months later

"Eugene, I don't understand why I can't go out." Rapunzel said, clearly annoyed.

"Because the doctor said you need to stay close by in case you go into labor. Believe me, if I could take you out, I would." Eugene explained.

"It's just so boring having to stay in one room. I spent 18 years like that and I told myself never again."

"I know, Sweetheart, but it's for the best. Once the baby is born, I'll take you out for the day. I promise." He grabbed her hand and kissed her. "I need to go do some drills with the Royal Guard. I'll be back in a little bit. I love you and please stay here."

"Ok fine I'll stay. And I love you too." She hugged him and he left. She sat there, wondering what to do. Nothing seemed worth doing. She laid back on the bed. After a while, she sat outside on the balcony. It was a beautiful day so she wanted to enjoy it as best as she could. From where she was seated, she could see part of the training field and the guards that were on duty. She could even see Eugene's figure and slightly hear him shouting orders.

A few hours passed and Eugene made his way back up to Rapunzel. He found her reading out on the balcony. Suddenly, she grimaced in pain. Eugene ran out to her and put his arms around her.

"Are you okay?" he worriedly asked.

"I... I think it was a contraction. Eugene, I think I'm going into labor." she said looking up at him.

"Let's get you inside and I'll get the doctor." He helped her up and onto the bed. "I'll be right back. I love you." He kissed her forehead and ran to the doctor's office. He burst through the door and told the doctor the situation.

"The princess is in labor." Eugene told him, out of breath.

"I'll get the midwife and nurses. You go and alert the queen." the doctor replied. Eugene ran to the library where the queen was doing some work. He told her what was happening and she stopped what she was doing. Together, they sprinted back to the room and Eugene kneeled down next to Rapunzel. Soon after, the midwife and nurses came in.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave the room." the midwife said to Eugene.

"I'm afraid I can't do that." he said back to her.

"We need to be able to work and you'll most likely get in the way." she said.

"And I need to be here for my wife. If you have to work around me, so be it, but I'm not leaving her." he replied in a harsh tone.

"This is his baby too. He's staying." Rapunzel added. The midwife just walked back to the nurses and prepared for the delivery. Eugene held Rapunzel's hand and did his best to make her comfortable. The contractions seemed to be more consistent, but they also were getting worse. Suddenly, Rapunzel let out a loud scream.

"The baby is crowning. A few good pushes and you'll have a baby." the midwife said. Rapunzel pushed and pushed until she heard a baby cry.

"It's a boy!" the midwife exclaimed.

"Wait!" the nurse interrupted, "there's another one. It's crowning now."

The midwife looked back and said "Oh my goodness! Your highness, you're having twins. So you have to push again."

Rapunzel did as she was told and gave birth to another baby. This one was a bit more stubborn on coming out than the other one. Once it was born, she relaxed and smiled. She did it. She gave birth to both a boy and girl. Eugene kissed her and smiled as well. After all these months, they finally had a family. The nurses cleaned up the babies and handed them to the couple. Eugene held the girl and Rapunzel held the boy.

"I think I know the perfect names for them." Rapunzel said.

"You do? Well, let's hear them." Eugene replied.

"This one will be Judson and his sister will be Taylor." she happily told him.

"You were right. Those are perfect. You did amazing, Sunshine. I love you."

"I love you too. Thank you for being right here with me. I couldn't have done it without you."

"We'll give you two some privacy and let you get acquainted with your children." the midwife said, herding everyone else out of the room.

"They're beautiful, Eugene." Rapunzel said, looking at the babies.

"They are. Just like their mother. And I think Judson is attempting the smolder." He motioned to the boy making an unusual expression.

"Or he's just doing what any newborn does." Rapunzel replied sarcastically.

"That too. All I know for sure is that they are going to have the best parents in the world."

"We may get some things wrong, but we'll try our best. We love you two very much." They put the children down in the crib for a nap and then laid on the bed, exhausted. Rapunzel cuddled close to Eugene, who wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tight. Words couldn't explain how much he loved her and what he would do for her. If she wanted the moon, he would find a way to get it for her. She soon fell asleep in his arms and Eugene did as well.

A few hours later, they were woken up by the sound of crying. Eugene sat up first and Rapunzel followed. They looked at each other and got up to comfort the crying child. When they got to the crib, Judson was still asleep and Taylor was crying. Eugene picked her up and did his best to calm her. Eventually, she went back to sleep and Eugene carefully laid her back down. He headed to bed again with Rapunzel.

"I guess we should get used to that." he joked.

"Yes we should. Goodnight, Eugene. I love you." she said.

"I love you too." He laid down and fell asleep after Rapunzel.

And scene!
