"Hey, hey, wake up" a soft female voice spoke. Bombalurina's eyes cracked open as consciousness slowly returned to her. She shot up. She was on a cold stone floor, in a damp wet cell. It was very dim with only a few lanterns lighting the area outside of the metal bars that held her and the other occupants captive. She couldn't tell exactly but she figured they were somewhere underground by the vile smell of sewage that filled the air.
On one side of her, Demeter lay, still unconscious. Bomba immediately crawled over her and checked for breathing. When she was sure Demeter was still alive. She shook her awake.
"Demi wake up! Please wake up" she pleaded.
The gold and black queen groaned "Bomba?"
"I'm here" her sister whispered caressing Demeter's face.
Demeter opened her eyes and struggled to sit up as fast as she wanted to.
"Where the hell are we" she asked with clear panic in her voice.
Bomba shook her head, and let out a sob.
"You're in Macavity's hideout" the same soft female voice that woke Bomba up said.
Both queens turned around to see a white and grey queen sitting in a dark corner behind them. She was dirty and covered in scars, but despite that she was beautiful.
Bombalurina and Demeter stared back at her, unsure of how to respond.
"Why are we here?" Demeter asked
The queen shrugged "He must of saw you somewhere and decided he liked you" she explained "that's how we all got here" she motioned to three other queens asleep in the opposite corner.
"I'm Lila" she said "what are your names?"
"I'm Bombalurina and this is my sister Demeter" Bomba answered "We're Jellicles"
Lila nodded "Over there is Lyra and Vela" they're sisters from the Golden Sun Tribe. I wasn't apart of a tribe before I was brought here."
"How long have you been here?" Demeter questioned
Lila shrugged "Its had to been almost two years now. I was barely out of kittenhood when one of Macavity's idiot agents got a hold of me."
Just then the cell door flung open. A smaller black version of Macavity sauntered in. The three queens hissed and backed up against the wall.
"Ohhh fresh meat" he sneered "I'm sure he'll want one of you." He grabbed Demeter by her arm and attempted to take her out of the cell with him. Bombalurina let out a growl and clawed the Tom, leaving gashes on his chest. He let out a cry of pain and retaliated by kicking the scarlet queen in the stomach.
Demeter who was laying on her stomach, managed to crawl over and bite him on the ankle, preventing him from striking her sister again. The Tom wriggled his ankle free and violently kicked Demeter away. Lila stepped in and shoved the Tom away before he could continue to beat either of the sisters.
"Fuck off Lewis. Just take me and leave them alone"
The Tom chuckled "No. they're not getting off that easy." He swiftly yanked Bombalurina up and hauled her out of the cell before anyone could stop him.
"NO" Demeter screamed desperately and continued to violently sob. Lila scooted next to her and wrapped her arms around Demeter's trembling body.
"It's gonna be ok. She'll be ok" Lila whispered into her ear. Demeter clung to the queen who, not very long ago was a total stranger. She was the closest thing Demeter could get to being held by her sister or Jenny or Jelly or Munkustrap. Oh god Munkustrap. She thought. She would've given anything to have him with her right then. She and Lila curled up together until she began falling asleep. Right before she was totally out, the cell door freaked open and Bombalurina fell the floor.
