Here is a Plot Bunny I had and I'm offering it for adoption. While I know a lot of the Original Battlestar Galactica, my knowledge of Halo lore is insufficient to do the story justice I'd like to see written. Without further adieu, here's the plot bunny. Again, it is up for adoption.

Battlestar Galactica (original series) / Halo

The rag tag fugitive fleet, led by the Battlestar Galactica along with a recently reunited Battlestar Pegasus (Commander Cain has passed on, killed while fighting the Cylons) fleeing from the tyranny of the Cylon Empire runs into the UNSC near the end of the Human/Covenant war.

The Colonials are led militarily by Commander Apollo commanding Galactica while his wife Sheba is the second in command, she commands the Battlestar Pegasus and they try to do their best doing their duty while raising their own teenage kids, both of which are fifteen/sixteen year old girls

President Tigh is in command of the civilian leadership along with the Quarom of the Twelve. He has married and has teenage children of his own.

Boxey, Apollo's adopted son has grown into a fine warrior and commands Silver Spar Squadron on Pegasus. He is single, driven to be the best Warrior possible.

Apollo and Athena's father Commander Adama died of old age yahrens ago.

Starbuck, is now the CAG of the Galactica and Pegasus viper squadrons and finally made a choice of who he loved the most. He chose Athena and managed to gain Adama's blessing before Adama passed on and married her before Adama passed away. While managing the squadrons of viper pilots under his command, he and his wife try their best with their own teenage kids, one boy and one girl. Athena is in command of Blue Squadron on the Galactica.

Boomer is in command of Red Squadron on the Galactica. He is also responsible for the training of new Colonial Warriors throughout the fleet.

While the Colonials have not seen Cylons in yarhens, Apollo is of the belief that they are not far behind, just waiting to strike out of nowhere when they are sure they have lulled the Colonial fleet into complacency. Meanwhile the civilian leadership is convinced again that the Cylon threat is gone and they have finally escaped.

As for the UNSC, the UNSC with Master Chief and Cortana have been fighting the Covenant forces and giving humanity the hope that the Covenant can be beaten. The UNSC starship that Master Chief and Cortana are on are the ones that make first contact with a viper patrol that leads them back to the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet.

Soon after that first contact between UNSC and Colonial, a Cylon Baseship commanded by Baltar after the Cylons found him marooned by Commander Adama yarhens ago. This Cylon Baseship is detected by UNSC forces but manages to elude destruction and/or capture. Now humanity of the UNSC and the Colonials must prepare itself to face new threats. The UNSC must prepare to face the Cylon Empire while the Colonials must prepare to encounter the Covenant.

The Cylons will discover the Covenant and consider them a threat to be wiped out just as much as humanity. Once they discover how large UNSC inhabited space is and how large the Covenant is, the Imperious Leader decrees that those sentient life forms must be destroyed at all costs.

Master Chief and Cortana will have large roles to play. Can John save Cortana from rampancy? Will they save humanity from the Cylons and the Covenant?

When the Covenant discovers the existence of the Cylons, how will they react? Actually it becomes certainty how they react when the Cylons wipe out a Covenant planet.

This is just a bare bones plot bunny, I really would like someone to take this idea and run with it.
