I noticed there was a lack of stories for Billy Budd, so I have written one to satisfy the Billy Budd Fandom's desire for fanfictions. Enjoy the first-ever Billy Budd fanfic!
There was once a man named Billy Budd, and he was hated by everybody. He had been serving as a sailor on the Rights-of-Man, a merchant ship, for years, and was hated by every sailor onboard. He was bigger and stronger than everybody, and he made sure that everyone knew it. He would start fights with anyone who got in his way, usually resulting in the other person leaving with a black eye.
One day, the captain of the rights of man saw an opportunity to get Billy off of his ship. the Rights-of-Man had recently docked for supplies, and docked near it was the HMS Bellipotent, a British naval vessel. The captain of the rights-of-man approached the captain of the Bellipotent, Captain Edward Vere, and informed him that there was a very capable sailor on board his ship that he thought would be a great fit for the naval ship.
Captain Vere looked over to the rights of man and immediately knew who the other captain was talking about. BIlly had the perfect build to serve on a naval ship, with his height and muscles. This is why Captain Vere invited Billy to sail on the Bellipotent with him and his crew. Billy quickly accepted, he hated everybody on board his old ship. As BIlly walked up the ramp and onboard the HMS Bellipotent, he was already thinking of ways that he could cause trouble onboard his new ship.
