The PAW Patrol was rushing to the rescue after they heard two cars crashed. Marshall could see smoke billowing in the distance. Once they got there, they gasped. Two cars looked like they ran straight into each other. Fire and smoke was coming from every single opening of the car and the front. A twelve year old boy, who probably happened to be right between the vehicles when they collided, was sprawled out on the street, the middle part of his body flattened. Blood was pouring from his mouth and nose, and he was undoubtedly dead. Marshall sprinted to the cars and put out the flames, but it didn't change the fact that two bodies were visible in both driver seats of both cars. The bodies were both flaming and charred. Marshall heard another gasp and turned around. Ryder and the other pups stared in shock and suddenly sorrow at something in the back seat of one of the cars. Marshall went over to where they were looking at, and instantly regretted it. A toddler, possibly two or three years old, was impaled by a pole that must have flown into the car when it crashed. Blood was splattered around the seat from when it entered the toddler's body, and then there was blood gushing from the wound onto the booster seat. Marshall threw up onto the sidewalk. Chase looked away from the wreck. He looked into the grass by the road, and he saw someone walk up to the tree in the middle of it. The person started to smash their head against the bark, not appearing to feel any pain. Chase just froze, unsure of what to do. The person then looked at Chase. The person, who was a girl, had blood all over her face, her forehead distorted and red. Chase was about to do something when the girl ripped off a piece of bark from the tree and stabbed it into her neck. She fell to the ground immediately. Chase turned back around to the group, but they were staring as well. Suddenly, a scream. Marshall looked up from the sidewalk to see another car drive straight into a building. It exploded on impact, sending flames all around the building. "I think we need to get out of here.." Rubble said. Everyone ran back to their vehicles. They didn't work. "Shit." Ryder muttered. He looked behind him, where he saw chaos. A few people were slamming their heads into the sidewalk, causing blood to splatter. Cars drove off the road and into the bay. "WHAT'S..." Rubble couldn't finish his sentence before his eyes became cloudy. Rocky saw this. "Rubble? Are you-"
Rubble sprinted into the road and looked back at the PAW Patrol, his eyes becoming gray. Ryder's eyes went wide. "Rubble! Get out of the-"
A truck zoomed across the street and right into Rubble. Blood splattered all over the street and into Chase's eyes. He yelped as the blood brought a stinging sensation upon him. Once he could see again, Ryder screamed,
"EVERYPUP! RUN!"
And they did just that. They ran towards the bay, where Captain Turbot's lighthouse was. They could see him in the distance. Rocky yelled "Captain Turbot! You need to-"
Captain Turbot walked towards his boat. The pups could see him drop down the anchor and start the boat. Everyone was confused at this, then, they knew. Captain Turbot jumped straight into the turning propellers of his boat. Guts flew onto the deck. Blood spurted into the air. His legs fell into the cold water. His head was split in half. Everyone just kept running towards the boat, knowing all they had to do was bring back the anchor before they could get out of there. Then, Rocky stopped in his tracks. Chase turned around. "Rocky! Come on!" He barked. Rocky just stood there motionless. He then walked very gracefully over to a tree. He broke off one of the branches with his mouth. Then he planted it right into the ground so the sharp point stood up. Chase watched in horror as Rocky jumped right onto the stick. The point of it pierced his stomach and came out of his back. Rocky spit out some blood before going limp, more blood starting to gush out of his mouth. Once everyone got to the lighthouse, Chase slammed the door behind the PAW Patrol and started to cover the windows with whatever he could find. "Chase, what are you doing?" Marshall asked. Chase didn't answer until he covered the windows completely, making sure there was no cracks of light coming in. Skye turned on the light. Then, Chase turned to the group.
"Did you see how Rubble's eyes clouded up right before he jumped into the street?" He asked. Silence.
"ANSWER ME DAMN IT. YES OR NO?" Chase barked angrily. Everyone quickly nodded.
"I think he saw something. Something that makes you insane. I have no idea what it is, but it's out there." He said. Ryder raised his hand. "What?" Chase said when he saw this.
"You just blocked us from the boat. If there is something here, shouldn't we leave?" Ryder asked. Chase started to look around again. "What are you doing?" Skye asked.
"Something to cover our eyes with. A blindfold or someth-"
Suddenly, there was frantic knocking at the door, startling everyone. Zuma started to walk towards the door, but Chase yelled, "What do you think you're DOING?!" Zuma looked back at him. "Dude, it's a person who needs our help!" He replied. Chase released an exasperated sigh. "Look down when you open the door, okay?" He muttered. Zuma nodded. Everyone else looked to the other side of the room as Zuma opened the door. Zuma heard someone run inside. When the footsteps were inside, Zuma quickly closed the door. He turned around to see none other than Mayor Goodway standing in the middle of the room, a panicked look on her face. "Mayor Goodway?" Ryder said, astonished. He and the others were amazed at the fact that she was still alive. "Good heavens, it is anarchy out there!" She said. She then noticed that Rubble and Rocky were missing. After seeing this, she opened her mouth to say something, but Ryder shook his head. Sorrow filled her eyes suddenly. "I need a moment." She said, covering her mouth and walking up the stairs. Chase continued his search for something to cover everyone's eyes. A few minutes passed before Ryder gasped. The pups looked at him. "Ryder? What happened?" Marshall asked. Ryder looked to the pups, a worried expression on his face. "You know how Mayor Goodway went upstairs?" The pups nodded. Ryder looked like he was about to faint when he murmured, "We didn't cover the windows up there."
Everypup's eyes widened. Zuma suddenly sprinted up the stairs. "I'll go get her!" He called down to them. A few minutes pass. Then, the group hears a few thuds upstairs. Chase runs up. He climbed the winding stairs until he got to the next floor, and what he saw shocked him. Mayor Goodway was staring out the window with a smile on her face, and then..
Zuma.
A pair of scissors was in his neck, blood was pooled all around his head. At first Chase thought it was a murder, but then he noticed Zuma's paw. It was right around the wound. Zuma saw it. Whatever the hell that thing outside was,
He saw it.
But what confused Chase was that Mayor Goodway was staring directly outside, and she was perfectly fine. Then, she started to run towards Chase, grabbed him, and started to pull him towards the window. Chase clenched his eyes super tight as Mayor Goodway started to try to open them. "All. Must. See!" She yelled. "It will please all!" Chase struggled to keep his eyes closed. Mayor Goodway was about to open his eyes when suddenly,
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Mayor Goodway fell to the ground. Marshall stood in the door way, a revolver in his paw. "Where did you get that?" Chase asked, running towards him. "Captain Turbot's closet. Probably for hunting or.."
Chase was confused for a second. Then, he realized that Marshall saw the thing.
"NO!!" Chase screamed.
He knocked the gun out of Marshall's paw, sending it across the room, but Marshall calmly walked towards it. Chase knew it was too late. He also knew that if he didn't get out of there soon, he would see it too. Chase quickly ran out of the room and down the stairs. When he reached the others, everyone looked at him worriedly, noticing some blood splattered on his face. "Chase! Where's-" Ryder couldn't finish his sentence before Chase interuppted.
"Zuma's dead! Mayor Goodway's dead! Marshall-"
BLAM!
The gunshot can be heard from upstairs. Chase then broke down right there in the middle of the room. Ryder fell to his knees, shaking his head in denial. Skye comforted Chase for a few minutes before staring at Ryder. She looked at him with a serious expression.
"We need to get the hell out of here NOW!"
Ryder got up and found some blindfolds buried under a bunch of stuff in the corner of the room. He threw two over to Chase and Skye, then he put his on. A few moments pass before Ryder asks, "Are your blindfolds on?"
"Yes!" Chase and Skye both answered in unison.
"Alright, grab my hand. We're going to walk in a line so we don't get lost."
Chase and Skye held paws right before Skye grabbed Ryder's hand.
Ryder walked over to the door and opened it. He heard absolutely nothing except for the rustle of a few leaves. Ryder started to feel his way around. He felt something like a slimy rope. He held it for a moment before throwing it away from him and gagging. Captain Turbot's large intestine. Ryder then felt the boat. He led the two pups onto it and into the small cabin. He then turned on the boat, turned it away from the dock, which was hard considering he couldn't see, and he drove the boat away from Adventure Bay.
Three Days Later
Ryder, Chase, and Skye were on the verge of dying from dehydration. They had been drifting out to sea for what seemed like years, but was only three days. Chase was close to insanity, sometimes crying underneath his blindfold, soaking the fabric. Ryder just sat, not knowing what to do. He then felt some pliers on the ground. He grinned. He held it next to his neck. He took a deep breath. As he was about to plunge the pliers into his neck, he heard,
"WE HAVE SURVIVORS!"
Skye woke up from a nap she was taking. Chase's ears perked up.
"YOU CAN TAKE OFF YOUR BLINDFOLD!"
Ryder didn't even hesitate. He had been wearing the thing for so long the top part of his face itched something awful. What he saw was land. Actual land! A large group of people were by the shore of a beach. Ryder quickly ran over to Chase and Skye to take their blindfolds off. When they saw what lay ahead of them, they cried out with joy. When the boat arrived at the land, and everyone got out of it, Ryder walked up to the person who was yelling earlier.
"I-is it safe? How are you guys-"
"Whatever that thing was is gone. It actually was only in Adventure Bay and Foggy Bottom, and some people were flying here on planes or coming on boats with blindfolds on. We saw it all on the news. Ninety-two percent of Adventure Bay and seventy-nine percent of Foggy Bottom is dead. This morning on the news they said that after everyone evacuated Adventure Bay and Foggy Bottom, they dropped a nuke on that whole piece of land. No more suicides were reported after that, even after someone volunteered to stare at the destroyed island."
As Chase and Skye started to hug some of the people, Ryder asked,
"So where are we?"
The man chuckled.
"Welcome to Miami."
