The four survivors awaken to a warm campfire along with three other survivors staring at them.
Laurie, Jake and Nea saw the shock register on their faces before they could hide it. A small smile played on Laurie's lips, Nancy guesses she gets that a lot. "Hey, strangers." Laurie gave a wink to Nancy and Steve before they realised Claudette and Bill walked away together, leaving the five survivors. Steve is slumped at the log in front of the campfire, Steves brows creased and face tense, the same with Nancy. When Nea sits next to Steve and Nancy, she asks "What's up?" her tone casual. Nancy scowls at her, "Do you know a way out of here?.."
Jake and Laurie sit across from the three. Nea with a serious face, "Well...if we did, we would be gone by now." Jake smiles, "She's saying that we don't know a way yet!"
Nea makes her face straighter than a poker player and says, "Jake, don't give these damn kids hope." For a fraction of a second, the corners of Nancy's mouth twitch down, until her conscious mind asserts control again. Then Laurie says "We could find a way but don't get your hopes too high." Nea's face is serious all the way from her eyes to her mouth, no pleasure at all, not even masked. "OK," Steve says, "I'm just wondering if any of you have contact with the outside world?"
Laurie sighed, "Sorry but no one does except for the killers." Steve's face fell faster than a loaf removed from the oven too soon. Nea bit her lip, this was one crazy day to see new people finally but with so much hope. Nea smiled despite her feelings, "Any more questions?"
Nancy's face split a grin, "Can you talk to any of the killers after the 'matches'?"...Silence...Waiting is easier for Steve than Nancy. Nea comes up with a million different ideas what to tell them but she stays simple. "we're screwed" Nea smiles before Jake punches her in the arm. "You said you would be nice about it!" Jake yelled. Nea just rolled her eyes, "It's better, to be honest than lie.".
"Fine," Jake spoke before turning to Nancy and Steve. "Nea is like a shadow until you needed her. Then suddenly she is unavailable. If you have her in a match, get ready to fail." Laurie gasped and started yelling at them both, making them shy away.
"I saw Claudette walk north. Wanna come with?" Steve whispered to Nancy as she nodded.
Across the forest's haze, Nancy glanced a chimney. Deep in those green woods, dipped down the hill, must live an isolated cottage with the facade of different grey hues. Deep in her heart, she knew that she meant to be here in the core of that forest, deep in its ancient heart. She went blindly towards the cottage's porch, blood pumping through her veins as Steve followed even though he claimed he was a leader. She turned the knob and opened the door... the creaking sound echoed inside the cottage...
