Chapter 1: Sign Language
"...I'm sorry."
Those words, unheard, but signed.
Deku, devastated but unable to move, watched as the bloodied lady hero cried; embracing a lifeless, disintegrating Ground Zero.
Uravity, upon witnessing such tragedy, could only cry with the lady hero as she signed, over and over...
"...I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry..."
She then looked at Uravity, then to Deku.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't protect him, Deku..." she signed. Over and over, she tried speaking, but can only motion her trembling lips.
Crying, Deku tried to reach out, he tried stepping forward; suddenly, to his and Uravity's surprised, a blinding bluish and white light came bursting from where the couple have been.
As soon as the light vanished, the lady hero was gone along with Ground Zero.
Uravity came running to Deku's side, confused as to what that light was just.
"It... was the limit," Deku, tears falling from his eyes, said as Uravity helped him up.
It was a usual day in UA, the students of Class 1-A chatting with each other while waiting for Aizawa-sensei.
Midoriya Izuku, mumbling by himself jotting notes on his Heroes Notebook as usual.
Uraraka Ochako, laughing with Ashido Mina, Asui Tsuyu, Hagakure Toru, Jiro Kyoko and Yaoyorozu Momo while making quick glances on the freckled boy.
Iida Tenya, with his robotic hand gestures telling Tokoyami Fumikage to sit properly.
Despite having hardships with the Villains, the Licensure Exam, Internships, everything seemed normal.
Bakugo Katsuki, who is sitting in front, quite irritated and is about to get ready to blast Izuku's table, suddenly got startled about the rumbling he heard.
It wasn't Sato's stomach ready to devour a ton of sweets.
It wasn't thunder as it was a nice day.
It seemed to be coming from above.
He looked up.
Given his reflexes, the class was sure he could dodge what seemed to be human who fell from the ceiling, but he didn't.
He didn't flinch a bit.
It felt like, he shouldn't.
Class 1-A was stooped. Silent.
As if Aizawa-sensei has stopped all their quirks; as if someone has some kind of power to make them all mute.
No one dared to speak.
Katsuki saw himself, face to face, lip-locked on a girl who fell from the ceiling.
Aizawa arrived at the door witnessing what was going on, scratched his head and finally breaking the silence with, "It's too early for that Bakugo."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" the whole class followed.
Just then that the flusttered Katsukiu removed his lips off the girl, but never let her hit the floor.
"Calm down. Iida, get Recovery Girl here." Aizawa said, "shut the door as you go out; we don't want a sudden fuzz in school". He had to contain it as much as possible. "Being a hero AND a teacher is such a pain at times."
Katsuki was silent the whole time. He wasn't even responding when Aizawa was asking him what happened. Katsuki just stared at the girl resting on his chest. Wearing a somewhat adult sized hero costume – cerulean blue in color, with lines of white and black, HM initials were visible along the collar; she had long silver hair which compliments her long eyelashes, pale lips, pale white skin; it looked like she is hurt. A lot.
Iida came in with Recovery Girl and looked at the unexpected visitor.
She asked if anyone has moved her; "I...didn't", Katsuki finally uttered.
"Can you help me carry her in the Nurse's Office, Bakugo-kun?" Recovery Girl softly said.
"Y-yes," Katsuki replied, somehow feeling unburdened by such task.
It was an unbelievable scene from Class 1-A, especial coming from Katsuki. Everybody just watched as he carried the seemed-like lifeless girl outside the room.
"I'll be coming too, I just have something to tell to the class; Bakugo, stay with Recovery Girl."
As the door to the classroom closed, every one suddenly had this feeling that they can breathe again.
They kept talking, asking questions... until the teacher who's already irritated because his time to rest was compromised suddenly asked, "what happened?"
All of them suddenly started talking in chorus, "Kindergartners. Can one of you tell me what happened? I'm already getting a headache and it's not even 9 in the morning," Aizawa said annoyed.
Iida explained what he saw, so did Momo.
There was a rumbling sound and suddenly a somewhat portal opened in the ceiling and a girl fell.
"Bakugo didn't even dodge! He knew it was a girl! #%#E%#%#$" Mineta jealously cried.
"For now, I'll be reporting this to the Principal and alert some heroes around UA." It would be best if you stay here; Present Mic will be here in a few." Aizawa said as he went out the door.
The class stayed silent for a while, then started to chat with one another about it.
Regardless of what happened earlier, they all seemed to be more energized upon seeing what happened earlier.
All of them confused at the same time surprised about Katsuki, but, it was different for Izuku and Ochaco.
It was a feeling as if their chest tightened, their heart being broken and wanted to cry.
Aizawa, along with Midnight, Allmight and the Principal came in the Nurses' Office to see what the commotion in Class 1-A in the morning.
"She is sleeping, she seemed to have been through a tough fight," Recovery Girl said, "she must have tried to escape from it." She added.
"Bakugo?" Aizawa asked.
"He's just there, he's not speaking. Just looking at her." Recovery Girl answered as she lead the way to where the girl was sleeping.
Slowly, the girl opened her eyes.
Blurry as it was, she saw the ceiling, the white curtain – slowly moving her sight to the person beside her.
She stretched out her hand, her pale chapped lips uttering a distuingishable, "Suki... Suki..." she was crying.
"I. Am. Glad." She signed, "I. Get. To. See. You. Again." She signed some more while crying.
Katsuki, at this point, started tearing up.
The hell did I wanted to cry this badly? I don't understand.
My heart aches. It's as if I've known her for so long.
"It seems she knows you, Bakugo-shounen."
Hearing Allmight's voice, Katsuki, tried holding his tears back and answered, "I...don't know her."
The girl tried to sit up, and signed, "I'm sorry for startling you; I seemed to have lost control of my quirk. By the way, my name's Kairi," she signed.
Dumbfounded about the hand signals. The whole office was silent.
"She apologized for losing control of her quirk. Her name's..." Katsuki suddenly uttered, "...Kairi."
He rushed outside upon saying her name.
He felt dizzy. Nauseous. It's as if someone punched him hard on his stomach.
To everyone's surprise, "I didn't know Bakugo-shounen knows how to sign," Allmight breaking the silence.
Kairi, as she was named, just smiled in relieved.
The teachers turned to her, she asked if she could have a pen and paper instead.
