Note: This is my 1st time writing an Ellick fic. (I was reading a bunch of Ellick fics on A03, when I decided to get in on the action.) This is just a one shot, I probably got some episode details wrong because my memory of how Ellick really met is a bit hazy, and this is most likely not up to how amazing other Ellick fics are. (well, the ones I've read anyways by a few extraordinary authors). But that's fine. It means this is unique! I hope you enjoy this.

Here's a bizarre question: Is it possible, maybe even fate, to meet your true love when they come to your workplace to work for the 1st time?

People meet their true love for the 1st time in all sorts of places, bars, supermarkets, church, the beach, even tattoo places.

Bat at the workplace? It's rare, dosn't always turn out well in the end, but, it IS possible to meet your true love at the workplace, and for it to work out in the end!

Take what happened in 2005 for instance: Tony, a guy who had gone from woman to woman looking for 'the one', was at his desk thinking, then all of a sudden, this beautiful woman named Ziva walked in, (and it was her 1st day at NCIS!). It can be debated, but it was most definitely love at 1st sight!

The years passed, and they fell in love despite the odds. Eventually left NCIS and had a daughter named Tali.

Was it fate? Yes, yes it was.

Can it happen twice, in the same workplace? Now THAT is a supreme rareity!

Ellie, a woman who was married, was sitting at her desk, just an ordinary day. Then all of a sudden, this brooding guy named Nick walks in, (and it was also his 1st day at NCIS!).

Was it love at 1st sight? Maybe.

A few years have passed. Ellie divorced her loser husband Jake, she and Nick became partners, and, it looks as if they could have feelings for one another!

But, is it real? And will any of them be brave enough to tell one another how they feel? And if they do, will they pursue their feelings, or just try to forget about them?

We'll see.

Ellie had invited Nick over to her place, with the full intent of telling him something important.

Nick had gotten all dressed up, with also the full intent of telling Ellie something important.

'Ding dong!'

'Hey Nick, come in!'

They sat down to eat.

'So Nick, you're looking lovely today.' Ellie said.

'And, so do you Ellie!' Nick responded.

The dinner continued like that, until:

'That's it, I can't take it anymore. I love you Nick!'

'Wait what?!' Nick responded, sounding very shocked.

'I've been thinking about how Tony and Ziva met, and how they were brave enough to explore their relationship, and look at them now! They have a daughter! And I thought about how we met, it was the exact same way that they met! And look at us these past few years, and what's happened with us. I don't know about you, but I'm done hiding my feelings about you!' Ellie said.

Silence.

'Well, that's funny. Because I came here today to tell you, that, I love you as well!'

Shocked, 'Really?'

'Yeah, I've also been thinking about them, and how they met. And how we've evolved these past few years. Plus, I do recall Ziva telling me to stop being a wuss and to tell you how I felt. Well, I've decided to stop that tonight. I love you, Ellie.'

Silence.

'What do we do now?' Ellie asked.

'We pursue these feelings head on, and see if it's true.'

'And if they turn out to be?'

'We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.' Nick responded.

Huh. Guess fate really can happen twice in the same place.
