Welcome back everyone and I hope you are looking forward to the chapter. I want to thank those who supported the last chapter. It's a little slow right now, but I'm sure it will pick up the pace. It always does with these stories.
I also plan to upload these chapters every two weeks. Gives me time to get stuff done for class and gives me time to go over my other chapters for my other stories. Just in case I mess up or I want to add something to the chapter. So, every two weeks a new chapter will be uploaded.
Last time, we saw Darkseid is after the Infinity Stones and has Vandal Savage joining him. Along with the Light, which is different from the ones from Young Justice. We also saw he killed Thor and now Arthur. How will the team handle the loss of their friend?
How will the team react when they find out who is after the Infinity Stones? Will everyone be ready for this? Will they try not to make the same mistakes as the Avengers did? Or think Darkseid will succeed in his plans?
Tune in today to find out and thanks everyone for the support. I appreciate all the support on the stories, and I hope everyone likes this new story. I don't own anything from Marvel or DC they are both owned separately. So, without any further delays let's get started and enjoy the story!
Chapter II
New Metropolis (year: 2019)
It has been ten years since the city of Metropolis was destroyed thanks to the Joker. It took time, but thanks to Lex Luthor, the city was soon rebuilt. The people memorialized the day to remember those they lost and how they started anew. Yes, it was also the beginning of the tyrannical rule of Superman, but thanks to his cousin and her allies they helped free the world.
Giving the people back their freedom and allowing them to live their lives again. However, that all changed a year ago when the Earth was attacked by Brainiac. Thankfully, Supergirl and her allies managed to defeat Brainiac and free the cities that were taken. One of those cities, was Argo.
It was once a city on Krypton that Supergirl used to live in before it was taken by Brainiac. It took some time, but the heroes managed to free the city along with others that Brainiac had taken over the years. While many of these cities lost their homes, they were able to start anew thanks to the Green Lantern and the heroes from the other universe. They found them new homes to rebuild and under the protection of the neighboring systems.
Argo City though, was given a warm welcome in Metropolis and with the help from the citizens they were able to build a new home for the Kryptonians. Soon, the two cities merged into one forming a new Metropolis. Home to both the humans and Kryptonians. With Supergirl as the ambassador for her people and helping them learn to control their powers thanks to their exposure to the radiation from the yellow sun.
Ever since then, Supergirl had revealed her true identity to the people and has been living peacefully with her husband along with their twin children. They weren't worried about their identity being exposed. Since they knew with so many people supporting them, they weren't worried about some criminals coming after them. They also knew none of the criminals were stupid enough to fight them and risk getting their asses kicked.
"So, my mom and the others have decided to officially retire," said Jason as he walks with Kara in the park with their babies in their strollers. "That way they all can relax and not worry about anything else. My mom is also hoping to spend time with Jon and Lara. You know, be there to see them grow, spend time with them, and probably spoil them."
"Your mom? Spoiling the kids? I doubt it," said Kara as she pushed the stroller while making sure their babies are asleep. "No offense, Jason. But I can't see your mom spoiling our babies. Now, I do see her disciplining them if they misbehave and train them how to fight. Now that, I can see her doing."
"Why do you assume that?" Jason asked as he sees his wife looking at him with her eyebrow raised. "Okay, fair enough. But she just wants to make sure the kids will be safe. Not that they aren't safe now. I mean, look at what we've accomplished."
Kara sighed as she stops pushing the stroller. "As much as I would love to believe we've achieved peace. I still feel like we shouldn't completely let our guard down."
Kara really wish she could just relax and feel like nothing bad will happen. But she knew better than to think that. She knew there were still dangerous people out there who wants to hurt them. That's why she can't lower her guard like the others can…especially since she has become a mother.
"I'm sorry. I just…I guess I'm just worried what the future will hold for our kids," said Kara as she looks over at the stroller to see their babies sleeping peacefully. "I want to believe there is a better future waiting for them. But we both know as long as there are people out there who wants to hurt the innocent I can't feel at peace."
Jason sighed knowing Kara is right, but he still feels maybe she should take it easy once in a while. "I understand but…" he walks up to her and begins stroking her face. "It doesn't mean we can't try to be at peace. Like we told Clark, things aren't the same as before. Things have changed to the point that now the people can take care of themselves. We even have so many friends and allies who can help carry the load for us when we one day step down as heroes."
Jason knew thanks to the technology they got from Brainiac's ships and from the aliens who were taken by the crazed bad guy shared their technology with humanity. With Bruce and Abigail's help they managed to push humanity to a better path with the technology. To defend their world, to protect the innocent, and take good care of them.
"I'm not saying we should completely lower our guard, but it couldn't hurt to relax and be at peace," said Jason as he leans in to give his wife a kiss on the lips. "But if you are still worried about the kids…we can always move somewhere outside of the city. Like a log cabin in the woods or maybe move in with your aunt and uncle."
Kara lets out a small laugh with what Jason is trying to do and couldn't help but smile. "I actually wouldn't mind something like that. But I would hate to leave my people out here without someone representing them."
"I'm sure you'll be able to find someone," said Jason figuring his wife would be able to find someone within the city to take over her duties. "I'm sure any of them would love to take over."
"Maybe," said Kara as she moves her hand up to Jason's face and cups his cheek. "But for now, I'm not going anywhere."
She leans in about to kiss him when they hear someone clearing their throat. They look over to see its Christopher Strange standing there with a portal opened behind him.
"Hey, I'm sorry to interrupt but you two busy?" Christopher asked.
Jason and Kara cleared their throats as Jason clearly looks annoyed. "We were and hopefully will continue to be busy. So, unless you came to babysit, we would like to get back to kissing."
"I'm sorry, but you'll have to put that on hold," said Christopher as Megan walks out of the portal and to the others looking shaken.
Jason and Kara take notice of their friend's appearance as they go over to her. "Megan, what's wrong? What are you doing here? And where's Arthur?" Kara asked as Megan looks up at her with some tears forming in her eyes as she embraced her friend in a hug.
"I'm sorry," Megan whispered as she begins to cry. "I'm so sorry."
Jason and Kara look at each other both confused on what is happening before they turn to Christopher. "I'll explain everything soon. Come on."
Meanwhile
In New Gotham, Bruce Wayne is seen in his office going over a meeting with the president of the United States, Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning. During the reign of Superman, Jefferson had joined Batman's team but left when he felt their methods were too much like the Regime. He had joined the Regime but only to rebuild Metropolis. After that, he stepped away when he saw all the murders going on.
Jefferson rejoined Batman's team after the fighting ended and worked to rebuild the government. After a few years he decided to retire as Black Lightning when during the fight against Brainiac several government officials were killed. So, he decided to run for the presidency and won. Since then, he has been working with Bruce Wayne and their ally from the other universe, Abigail Stark.
With their help and technology, they were able to rebuild many of the cities that were attacked. Even provide the military and law enforcement with better equipment to help deal with dangerous criminals. This was good for Batman's team since he knew many of them wouldn't be doing this job forever. Hell, he isn't sure he can keep doing this forever himself, even with the new suit he made with Abigail and her friend Kymera.
"We managed to convince Mera to rejoin United Alliance and even form a better trade deal with her people," said Jefferson as he explains to Batman what has been going on. "Thanks to Donna, we were able to change her mind. In exchange, she also wants a deal made where we will not abuse the sea like we used to do, and her husband will not be punished by our governments."
"A small price to pay for peace," said Bruce figuring the world leaders will agree to this if it means peace with Atlantis. "Is there anything else I should know?"
"Yeah," said Jefferson as he shows his phone. "Heard from Anissa and Jennifer that Selina is pregnant. Congratulations, surprised you didn't tell everyone else about it."
Bruce sighed softly as he looks to see a picture of Selina and him married. A month after defeating Brainiac, Bruce proposed to Selina. It surprised everyone that he actually went through with it. Even Selina, who never expected Bruce to propose to her.
Yet he did and she accepted. The two got married and soon after they found out Selina was pregnant. Selina retired as Catwoman so she can focus on becoming a mother to her child. While Bruce…promised he will retire as Batman once he is sure the world won't need Batman. Selina understood and didn't try forcing him to retire but did make him promise to retire before the baby is born.
Bruce agreed to this provided Selina doesn't tell everyone about it. Well, it didn't seem like she actually did that.
"Who else knows?" Bruce asked wondering who else Selina told about her pregnancy.
"Just Jason, Kara, Zatanna, Harley, and my kids. That's about it," said Jefferson as he lied knowing the others probably told everyone about the pregnancy.
Bruce sighed as he leans against his desk. "I was hoping to wait for the right time to tell everyone."
"Like after the baby is born?" Jefferson asked figuring knowing Bruce he would do that. "You don't have to worry about her getting hurt. Things aren't like they were before. They are different."
"I wish I could believe that," said Bruce knowing there are still a lot of enemies out there who will want to make him pay. "Donna told me that Diana had escaped from her prison a month after we locked Superman away. Black Adam also escaped, and they haven't been seen since. They aren't on Earth, so we have to assume they are out there in space causing trouble. Probably gathering allies to one day return to attack us."
Jefferson knew this is true but with their new allies and the technology they have no they shouldn't worry too much about it. "I think considering Superman chose to be locked up and spoke to Diana about this she would give up wanting revenge. But I see your point. Still, if you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask. We're here for you and Selina."
Bruce nods glad to know he still has friends who will be there if anything happens. "I appreciate it," he replied when he is informed Selina is here. "I'll call you later. Be careful on the way back, okay?"
Jefferson chuckled softly. "With who I have as my bodyguard, I don't think I need to worry about that."
Once they finished talking, Bruce sees Selina walking into the room. She appeared to be a few months pregnant as she walks over to her husband. "Did I catch you in a bad time?"
Bruce shook his head as he walks over to Selina and placed his hand on her belly. "How did the checkup go?"
Selina smiled as she lifts up the picture of the ultrasound showing their baby. "Its going to be twins."
Bruce took the picture and looks at it before he smiles softly at the picture. Never did Bruce ever think he would find someone to be with. Never did he even consider one day he would become a father. So, to find himself in this point of his life is something he never expected.
"I even picked out some names we could give," said Selina as she walks over to leave a bag she was carrying on a nearby table. "How do these names sound? For our girl, Helena, Ashley, or Sarah. If it's a boy, we can name him after your father, Dick, or…Bruce? Bruce are you okay?"
Selina looks over to see Bruce looking at the picture of their babies and knew what he's thinking as she walks over to him. "I bet when you first don the mask you never expected this moment, did you?"
Bruce turns to Selina and nods. "I never expected I would ever get married…much less have a child or even twins," he looks over to Selina and sighed. "I guess with everything that I have gone through, I'm still having trouble believing this is really happening."
Selina knew the feeling, especially how she grew up. "I guess we both never expected this moment to actually happen. Yet here we are and now we both have a chance to have a future together. That is of course, if you are ready to have one."
Before Kara and the others arrived, Bruce never thought he would have a future. He always assumed he would die saving the world from Superman and ensuring there would be peace afterwards. But when Kara arrived with her friends, that all changed. Now he is sure there can be a future and things will turn out okay. Although, he isn't sure if he is ready to give up the mask and ready to be a father.
"I will try but only when I am sure nothing will happen," said Bruce who didn't want to lower his guard for even a moment."
Selina placed her right hand on Bruce's face and smiles. "Superman is locked up, his allies are scattered to the wind, and the world is prepared for anything. What could possibly happen that requires the need of Batman?"
"A lot actually," the couple quickly turn around on their guard until they saw it was Zatanna who entered the room. "Bruce, I'm sorry to interrupt you. But we need your help."
Bruce looks to Selina before he relaxed his stance and sighed. "What happened?"
Meanwhile
Outside of new Metropolis lies a large facility, which is the newly constructed Hall of Justice and Avengers headquarters that was build by Abigail Stark. The original Hall of Justice was set up in the city to serve as the headquarters of the Justice League. Second to the Watchtower, which was made to help to monitor the planet. However, after Superman's fall from power it was torn down and rebuild outside of the city.
Bruce Wayne and Abigail Stark created the new headquarters to serve as the main headquarters for the heroes. Both the Justice League, Teen Titans, and the Avengers when they come over to this universe. They had the Watchtower rebuild, but the heroes agreed to have it be run by the world government officials, so they don't have too much control. The heroes were also glad to have their facility away from the populated areas since they wanted to avoid any fighting breaking out in the cities if the bad guys attack their base of command.
Abigail Stark is seen in her office with her best friends Kymera and Lyra Banner. All three speaking with their fathers and letting them know about the search for the Infinity Stones.
"So far, we have found five of the six Infinity Stones," said Abigail as she shows the stones they have found to the adults. "The Space, Reality, Time, Power, and Mind Stones. All except the Soul Stone, which we all agreed is better left hidden wherever it is."
Abigail's father, Tony appeared the same age as he was years ago, but that was because of a new drug that helps him maintain being young. Yes, he is old, but he physically his body is young like it was when they fought for the Stones.
"A smart move. We can't risk our enemies knowing about the location of all the stones and risk bringing them all together," said Tony who is glad his daughter didn't find the sixth stone, much less revealed during their conversation where they are kept. "So, how goes making the containers to help transport them over here?"
Lyra clears her throat as she steps forward to speak up next. "We had to delay on transporting them over since we were working on a container that would prevent them from being detected," she then pressed a button on her wrist computer to show the containers. "These containers will also be locked up to keep anyone from getting to the stones if they got the containers."
"I assume you also made it so they can't be broken into or forced open," said Bruce as he appeared to be a little older with no hair, but a long grey beard and mustache. Lyra shows her father the material used for the container and what will happen if they try to break through them. "I see. You made it so if the stones are being broken into then the container will destroy the stones using the same energy emitting from the stones."
Lyra nods in response before turning to Kymera. "With the help of Kymera, we made it so if the stones do get destroyed then the container will absorb the explosion and not get anyone killed."
T'Challa appeared older looking with his hair short, grey, and wore his royal clothing. "I assume you and your aunt Shuri worked on this together?"
Kymera nods in response. "Yes father. Aunt Shuri volunteered to help us by combining the Vibranium and Adamantium to help create the container…at least the first one. However, when we found out how powerful the Infinity Stones of this universe are compared to our own we decided to try using other stronger materials to help limit the explosion."
"And that is where the Kryptonian technology comes in," said T'Challa as he sees the information of the containers being sent to him. "Very good. It seems we have nothing to worry about then."
Tony, however, knew there was still one more problem to deal with. "When do you plan to move the stones out?"
"Soon," Abigail replied without saying exactly when that will be. "We will move them out as soon as possible. Of course, one at a time and on different times."
Tony understood and sighed in relief. He didn't need to know when the stones will come over or not. They will get here when they get here.
"Okay, I will inform the others about this and prepare the locations of where we will put the stones," said Tony as he also sends his daughter the information about the stones of their universe. "I assume you have some locations set up for our stones?"
Abigail nods in response. "Ready whenever you would like to bring them over."
"Good," Tony then turns to the others who all seem satisfied with the information they have been given. "All right. I will leave the rest to you three then. Just keep us up to date on anything that is going on and if you need anything else from us. Just don't do anything reckless."
Abigail begins to chuckle softly as she shook her head. "Relax, dad. We girls know better than to do anything reckless and make our dads worry. Just take good care of yourselves and we'll be home before the holidays."
Tony knew his daughter was a good girl, but sometimes she can be a little bit like him at times when it comes to a fight. "All right, well just be sure to come back in time for Morgan's birthday."
"We will dad and I love you," said Abigail as she turns off the transmission and soon pressed a button to make sure no one can hear anything in the room. "Okay, so where are we on the transport of the stones?"
Lyra steps forward and took out her tablet before a hologram of the four stones appeared in the middle of the room. "We haven't received any word from Arthur, but we know their ship did teleport through the portal. I bet they're just taking their sweet time to get to Earth."
Abby sighed figuring that's what's going on. She figured Arthur wants to spend more time with his parents before he goes back to this universe with Megan.
"All right. So, what about the other stones?" Abby asked as she turns towards Kymera. "Any progress there?"
Kymera nods in response as pressed a button on her wrist gauntlet to show the Power and Reality Stones.
"The Power Stone is on Okaara where the Orange Lantern, Larfleeze is living in. We are assured he wouldn't go near it since he is more obsessed with the Orange Lantern Battery than the stone itself," Kymera explained knowing Larfleeze would attack any who come to the planet looking for the stone.
She then shows another planet and the leader of the world. "As for the Reality Stone. It is on New Genesis and it is under the careful watch of Highfather. Orion reassured us the stone will be safe there until we transport it back to our universe."
Abigail sighed as she turns to Lyra. "And we're positive they aren't going to try keeping the stone there?"
Lyra shook her head. "Highfather isn't a moron. He knows if the stone remains there and, in this universe, there will be a lot of deaths. Bruce trusts him so we have to do the same."
"Well, if they want, we can move the Reality Stone first then the others," said Abigail as she presses a button on her table, and it shows the location of the two remaining stones. "Zatanna has the Time Stone with her, while Victor has the Mind Stone. We should start bringing them in soon before we run into any trouble."
A portal soon opens as the three women all got ready to fight in case it was an enemy. However, they soon saw it wasn't an enemy, but rather the God of Thunder himself, Raiden.
"Forgive my interruption, but you are needed, Ms. Stark," said Raiden as he used a portal spell that he learned from his allies.
Abigail sighed as she stood up from her seat. "Raiden, you do realize if you or the others need me you can always call me. I don't like it when you guys use your magic to try teleporting in my office without letting me know," said Abigail as she walks from behind the desk towards the God of Thunder. "So, what happened? You all summoned something you shouldn't have again? Or what is it?"
Raiden didn't say anything at first and instead gave a small sigh before he removes his straw hat. Abigail, Lyra, and Kymera begin taking notice of his reaction with all three realizing something is wrong.
"Raiden, what happened? What's wrong?" Abigail asked wondering what is going on.
Raiden placed his right hand on Abigail's right shoulder and let's out another small sigh. "I'm sorry, but your friend Arthur…he's gone."
House of Mystery
After bringing Abigail, Bruce, Jason, and Kara back to the House of Mystery, they are told everything that happened. Megan told them how when they were returning the Space Stone to Arthur's universe when they were attacked. Thor and his guards attempted to stop the enemy, but there were too many of them and soon the ship became overrun. They did manage to lay a trap for the enemy and get the survivors off the ship.
But then they were attacked by Sinestro and Atrocitus. They ended up wounding Megan and Arthur teleported her off the ship to be brought back to Earth. It was then she sensed Thor's death and couldn't sense Arthur anymore. So, she assumed he was killed as well.
Abigail contacted her father about this, and they soon managed to find the transmitter from Thor's ship. They found the transmitter was still working, but the rest of the ship…was gone. With no signs of life detected. They later received word from Valkyrie what happened, confirming Megan's story and they found out who was behind the attack.
"In the beginning, what was once whole was split asunder and, in its place, arose two worlds. Worlds as different as daylight and darkness. Virtue and evil, Orion explained everything to the young heroes who were not familiar with Darkseid. "One is called New Genesis. Unparalleled in its beauty. It is ruled by the wise and powerful, Highfather."
Orion shows where he lives and shows the beauty of it. While he shows the world, he was actually born from and who rules it. "The other is called Apokolips. A ravaged wasteland rule by the demonic and omnipotent, Darkseid. He psychically feeds on the fear, misery, and despair of others. He conquers worlds, enslaves its people, and forces them to do his bidding."
Orion shows the planet he was born from and who Darkseid is. "For as long as I can remember, Darkseid has only had one goal. The Anti-Life Equation. A formula that would give him complete control over all living things. To obey his every command without hesitation, resistance, or even disobedience."
"However, try as he might he could never find the Anti-Life Equation, but he did find the next best thing," Orion shows the six Infinity Stones. "Much like in your universe, before creation itself, there were six singularities. When the universe exploded into existence, the remnants of these systems were forged into what we know as the Six Infinity Stones."
Orion then shows different worlds with mentions of the stones whether in writing or in temples. "For a long time, Darkseid was aware of the stories of the stones. But he assumed they were all just stories and paid no attention to them...until Brainiac," Orion finished showing the holograms and turns to the others. "Ever since then he has been gathering his forces, forming his allies, and preparing to make his move to get his hands on all six stones. If he gets them then he won't need the Anti-Life Equation to get what he wants. With a snap of his finger the whole universe will bend to his will and obey."
Once Orion finished, he let everything he said sink in for the others. Bruce was completely aware of Darkseid due to the many fights the Justice League had against him. However, ever since Superman turned evil, they haven't heard any news about what he has been up to. Orion has been sure to keep Bruce up to date on everything, but it seems that didn't work out well.
Abigail looks around at the others knowing they are processing everything that they have been told. How Arthur and his father have been killed by this asshole. How now he has two of the Infinity Stones. And now he is coming for the other stones.
She knows where this is going, and she knows she isn't going to sit by doing nothing. She lets out a small sigh before she stood up from her seat.
"Okay, people. We now know who's the asshole who took our friend and we now know what he is after. This means he will most likely make his move soon on Earth for the two stones and is going to go after the Reality Stone," Abigail turns to Orion and walks over to him. "Orion, go back home and get the Reality Stone. Bring it here and tell Highfather to be ready for an invasion. Even if he's as powerful as you say he is we can't take the risk Darkseid won't just use the Power Stone to destroy your planet to get the stone."
Orion nods in agreement and uses the Boom Tube to head back home. Jason stood up next and understood where Abigail is going with this.
"We need to warn Victor about this and bring him here. I assume my mom and the others know?" Jason asked wondering if everyone back home know about their situation.
Abigail nods in response. "I had Kymera and Lyra stay behind the office to begin making the calls. In the meantime, we need to find the stones and get them out of here…or destroy them."
Kara sighed softly as she stood up from her seat. "I don't think destroying all of them is a good idea since we don't know what the backlash will be if we do that. But if we can destroy one of the stones like the Mind Stone then that should be enough."
Jason knew what Kara is referring to. Back home, the others found out Thanos never destroyed the Infinity Stones due to their immense power. He was worried if he destroyed them then everything in the universe would be wipe out down to its atom. So, he decided instead to scatter them to places only he knew.
They only found them after one of their own stumbled on to the Space Stone.
"If we're going to do this then we need to take all the stones," Bruce then turns towards Zatanna. "I know you told us you can protect the stone, but we can't take any risks. Not since we don't know who else is working for Darkseid."
"I understand your concern, Bruce. But I can keep the stone safe here," said Zatanna who despite what she was told is still refusing to give up the Time Stone.
"Zatanna, they're right," said John as he tries convincing Zatanna to give up the stone. "We both know it won't be long before Darkseid comes looking for the Time Stone. Even if it means killing a lot of innocent people."
"Which is why we should try using it to stop that from happening," said Zatanna who didn't want to give up the stone since she felt she could protect it.
"Using the Time Stone is too dangerous," said Bruce as he speaks up next to try convincing Zatanna not to do this. "We both know Darkseid will expect us to use it against him. If we do then he will use that chance to take it from us and get one step closer to gain control over the universe.
Zatanna though isn't convinced. She is sure they can use the stone to stop Darkseid and turns to Christopher to see if he can be convinced. "You have more knowledge of the stone than any of us here. Is it possible we can use it to help us stop Darkseid?"
Christopher lets out a small sigh as he looks up at the ceiling. "No, we can't use it to stop Darkseid. We can try using it to help the people and reverse things that happened. But it won't work well against someone as powerful as Darkseid. Believe me, if the stone was that powerful then my father would have used it long ago to stop Thanos."
Christopher asked his father before why he didn't try using the Time Stone against Thanos when they fought him years ago. His father explained that if Thanos didn't have the four stones in his possession then the Time Stone could have stopped him. However, because he had the Power, Space, Soul, and Reality Stones then there was no way to stop him. His father looked into the future to see all the millions of ways he could have stop Thanos with the Time Stone, but none of it worked.
"With the two Infinity Stones in his possession, the Time Stone won't work on him," Christopher knows this and knows this won't end well for them if they try fighting Darkseid with the Time Stone.
"Our only chance is to hide it in our universe and make sure he can't get his hands on it. I know you want to prove you can do this and you can protect the stone. But answer us this, as the new Doctor Fate, would you rather risk the whole universe trying to prove something that everyone knows you can already do? Or would you do what you know is the right thing to do?" Christopher asked hoping this will help convince Zatanna to do the right thing.
Zatanna turns to the others knowing they all want her to do the right thing. Yes, she knows they are right and how the smart thing to do is to hand over the stone to the others. Yet she still wanted to prove she could protect the stone and keep their world safe. She failed to save her friends from Superman and his allies when he began taking over.
All she could do is hide in the shadow, while so many innocent people got killed. Hell, she couldn't even save her friend Kent Nelson when he was being controlled by Nabu. Since then she has been trying to prove she can become the new Fate. The one who won't be controlled by Nabu and can help keep this world safe from harm.
And yet, she knew Christopher is right. As the new Doctor Fate, it is her job to do whatever she can to keep the world safe.
Zatanna turns to Bruce and nods in response. "All right. I'll hand the stone over, but you have to promise me we won't let it fall into Darkseid's hands."
Bruce nods promising they will do all they can to keep the stone from being taken. Bruce turns to Jason and Kara knowing they need to get things ready. "I'll need you two to contact the others. Tell them we are red alert and to warn the world governments to be ready for a possible invasion."
Jason nods in agreement as they begin preparing to leave when Bruce walks over to say more. "Jason…I'm sorry."
Jason turns to Bruce and knew he was sorry for what happened to Arthur. Jason did his best though not to say much since he was still trying to get through with the fact his best friend…his brother is gone. He wanted to say he wish he was there to help him and fight alongside him. But he wasn't and he has to live with the fact he wasn't there for his friend.
Kara placed her hand on Jason's shoulder and did her best to comfort him along with Megan. "Thank you, Bruce. Please, don't let the others know what happened. We'll tell them."
Bruce nods understanding it is best for them to tell the others about Arthur. Bruce turns to Megan and goes to her as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Megan, go with them. They'll need your help."
Megan looks up at Bruce before she shook her head. "What can I do? I couldn't do anything to save Arthur. What makes you think I can do anything right?"
Bruce kneels down in front of her and tries to help her. "I know you blame yourself for what happened, but it wasn't your fault. Arthur chose to save you and he chose to stay behind. I'm sure he would do it again if it means saving your life," he then looks down at the ground for a moment thinking of everyone else he has lost while fighting Superman.
"I'm sure if Arthur was here and even your uncle that they would want you to not give up. To help the others, protect the people, and make sure they don't lose those they love too," said Bruce as he tries to get her to keep moving forward. "You know I'm right."
Megan stares right at Bruce knowing he isn't wrong. If Arthur or her uncle were here, they'd want her to keep fighting. To protect the innocent and keep Darkseid from winning. She knew it and so did everyone else.
She stood up from her seat and turns to the others as she walks over to them before turning back to Bruce. "Please be careful," she said not wanting to lose more people she cares about.
Bruce nods in response as he sees Christopher use his magic to open a portal. So they can head back home to get the kids and get them somewhere safe.
Before they leave, Kara turns to Bruce. "Do you want us to get Selina too? Get her and the baby to safety?" Kara asked as she gets a small nod response from Bruce. "Okay. We'll go pick her up and bring her someplace safe. Just be careful everyone."
Kara goes through the portal to Jason and Megan so they can go get the kids then later get Selina. Hopefully before the fighting can begin.
Once they were gone, Bruce turns his attention to Abigail. "How long do you think it will take for your father to bring back up? I need to know so I can let the president know."
"I'll need to check, but I doubt it will take too long. My father and the others have been preparing for this ever since we were told what happened," said Abigail knowing once the Space Stone was discovered, her father and the others have been preparing for another war for the stones.
"Well, in the meantime we better get Cyborg and get the Mind Stone from him," said John knowing they can't wait long to get the stones. "Is there anyone with him?"
"Aya," Bruce replied knowing Cyborg and Aya are together on their vacation. "I'll contact them and let them know what's going on. In the meantime, do we have any of your teammates here, Abigail?"
Abigail nods in response. "Other than Lyra, Kymera, and Christopher? Benjamin is here along with Ezra. I'll contact James and Wendy to see if they can come over and…" it was then she noticed a gust of wind passing through hair and then towards Christopher's. "Please tell me it's very windy today."
Soon, the others begin hearing a loud booming sound coming from outside the house. Bruce walks over and opens the door to find the people who are in the park beginning to run away. All screaming in terror from whatever is frightening them. Bruce looks over to see it was a Boom Tube and soon saw Parademons beginning to appear.
John turns to his daughter who is taking notice of what is going on. "Rose, stay back and get the people to safety."
Rose nods and begins going off to help the people get away. All while Bruce is joined by Abigail, Christopher Zatanna, Hellboy, and Raiden as they see the Parademons not making their move to attack. It appears they are waiting for something or rather someone. They soon saw four familiar enemies appeared.
Psimon, Killer Croc, Felix Faust, and Diana Prince. Diana sees Bruce and took out her sword. "Hello Bruce, it's been a long time."
Oh boy, it looks like things have only just begun. I love Wonder Woman and she is an awesome hero. However, in Injustice she is a bitch and a monster. So, her joining up with the bad guys shouldn't surprise everyone.
It also looks like the team will have to be careful with the Light helping Darkseid get the stones. Also, for those who aren't unaware of how Hellboy and Raiden are doing here let me explain. They were both brought here by accident when they came to this universe. They know how to get home, but they have been helping the team once in a while when they need it.
Like right now. How will things go for our heroes though? Think they'll be able to keep the stones from falling to Darkseid? Or think history will repeat itself like it did with the Avengers against Thanos?
Tune in next time to find out. If you guys like how this went then please leave some comments, please. Nothing negative or any flame reviews please. Those are not allowed around here.
I will see you all next time, be safe, and take care everyone.
