Chapter 33: am I dreaming?

Lace:

The pokemon before us started to move, it was awake even out here and it started to glow yellow and bright pink, just like the colours of her appearance. The forest centre started to glow from the light that the Cresselia was emitting, it kept getting brighter and brighter. Almost unable to see, even if I squinted my eyes the light was still blinding. Everything when white and as I looked around, I saw Flareon and Vaporeon just as confused as me. We all looked around for even the slightest sign for an exit to this unknown place, were we even at the Fullmoon Island anymore? The white light made it seem almost empty and as I looked into the space ahead of me, it felt like I was dreaming with Flareon and Vaporeon by my side. The space waved and before us was a small human figure, just the outline which confused us until the outline showed more detail and eventually who that person was. To our surprise it was me when I was young, around 6 years old with my hair just as long as it was now but it was a time when I wore more girly clothes than the ones I was wearing today. I was wearing a bright coloured dress with a flower pattern on it and a straw hat, the hat was because I was into pirate themed shows and the main character for it always wore one.

Standing there in an unnamed land, I was wondering around the woods where the trees were not that thick and it was a warm day, probably around the midsummer. I can't remember why I wanted to search that part of the woods and I wondered deeper as if I had a goal in mind. Or maybe I was there because I was meant to be there and let events unfold. There was rustling coming from the trees up ahead and based on the sound, it wasn't much further. I ran forward and as I reached a clearing, I was even more surprised to hear the sound of rustling replaced with the sound of a pokemons heavy panting.

I walked into the opening where the sound of the panting was coming from and I saw it, one of the most beautiful sights I had seen. It was the pokemon, I didn't know the name back then, Giratina and it was in the origin form floating with it grey snake like body. It also had a red and black stripped pattern with yellow spike on the side leading all the way up to its head, the back of it had black tentacles with red pieces at the end of them and the face was grey with what appeared to be a yellow mask with red eyes. To me that was beautiful like seeing living art and a moving statue. Giratina looked like it was injured, so I went to get a wet rag and came back to wash out the wounds. He flinched, as you'd expect but he let me tend to his wounds and wash them clean. To me he seemed alone, almost as if he was running away. To me things seemed simpler and, in a way, better.

Days went by as I spent most of my time with Giratina, I saw as he healed his wounds, feed him the berries that grew in the area, brought him water and it seemed as he started to acknowledge that I was no threat and that I was someone who he could trust. He rested his head before me as I softly ran my hand over his head and I asked "where'd you come from?" he kept quiet and just looked to the sky. I didn't think he came from the sky, I figured maybe he meant that he came from somewhere that can't be seen. So, I asked "do you have a home?" Giratina looked down as if he was sad at the thought of a home. Looking at him it was like he didn't have a home at all, based on how he looked when I asked. I said looking down "you don't have a place to call home, do you?" he shook his head confirming what I thought then I turned to Giratina as I continued "have you thought about finding a place to call home?"

he nodded and I gently cradled his head in my small arms. He closed his eyes as he accepted the embrace and I asked "what if I was the place you could call home?" he looked surprised as I don't think anyone had asked or made such an offer. I continued "what if I was the home you could return to when the rest of the world pushes you away?" I think the idea was one that started to warm his heart as he looked lonely and sad. I softly smiled to him and said "if you don't, then I shall be your home. I promise that I will be the place you can return to and call home where no one else would" he rested his head down as we both felt as if nothing could go wrong, even in this moment of finally feeling like we both belonged.

~flashback end~

Vaporeon and Flareon were surprised to see that I was such a person who'd make such a huge promise then I nodded to them both and said "that was the kind of person I once was, someone who knew what Giratina felt and how bad it all is" I smiled at the memory revealed in the dream made by Cresselia. I turned and headed to the boat with Flareon and Vaporeon not too far. Creselia was a good pokemon but Giratina wasn't here. As we left Cresselia fell back into a sleep, it was what appeared to be the late evening and I asked the old man to take us to the next island. Little to my knowledge, there was a Team Galactic helicopter heading straight for Fullmoon Island as I made my way to Newmoon Island.
