Chapter 40: tag team, Lace and Tank vs Mars and Jupiter
Lace:
Flareon and mightyena were locked in battle, Flareon using quick attack and Mightyena using his natural speed attacking with thunder fang. Vaporeon was trying to hit her Golbat with water gun but it was using its natural abilities as a bat to dodge the attack using sonar. Jupiter just laughed as she smiled to Mars who then nodded. I looked over and Tank was fighting Mar, his Umbreon was keeping up speed with Salazzle and attacking with shadow balls. Salazzle keeps avoiding the attacks and striking with venoshock but Umbreon also keeps dodging too, almost as if it were a stalemate. I went over and stood by him as both Jupiter and Mars had snickered. I wondered why they seemed so happy.
Vaporeon dashed and stood in front of me along with Flareon. Umbreon dashed and stood in front of Tank as Venusaur was using vine whip to tie up the Golbat. He then slammed Golbat to the ground dealing some damage but sadly not a lot. Salazzle was attempting to attack Tank with flamethrower and venom drench, both as attempts to hinder the trainer to the pokemon causing the most trouble. Flareon matched fire with fire and Vaporeon stopped the venom with water gun. Mightyena took the chance and used crunch on Flareons arm, tearing it off and it was anything but a clean crunch. Blood was pouring out of the wound and I didn't know how to respond to this. Vaporeon quickly used ice beam on the wound and the arm. Tank told me "if we keep that on ice we have a chance at reattaching it and on top of that, we might be able to give him use of that paw" worried as I was, I knew about it but they were not going to let us leave in time to be able to do what he said.
ii said to him "I know but where are we going to get someone who knows how to reattach this, even if we have it on ice" his Venusaur used vine whip to keep the Golbats back and dealing minor damage. Mightyena, with blood over its muzzle ran over to Jupiter. I was surprised when he passed her 4 orbs. Tank picks up Flareons arm along with the ice and turned to me saying "if we need someone who knows how to perform surgery then I know who we have to see to help" I was confused, was there a doctor inside this building or did he know someone who was on their way here. Vaporeon stayed by Flareons side and Tank took over the tag battle.
he told me "look after him and I'll cover you" looking at him, I became overwhelmed with the sensation I haven't felt in a long time. This sensation was trust, I don't trust many trainers yet with him, I feel as if I could.
Tank:
I can see I'm at a disadvantage, 2 against 4 and on top of that, I was also at a type disadvantage too. I called out Dazzle and told "quickly use thunderbolt" it shot lightning from the mandibles and hit both Golbats, dealing double damage being super effective. I called out "Ven use leech seed" the seeds shot out of the flower on Ven's back and attached onto the Mightyena and Salazzle. it had begun, some of their life was being drained at a slow rate as it wasn't very effective but it was enough to cause some problems. I can tell without looking Lace thought what I did was strange, especially since I used a grass type move on 2 fire types.
Eevee tried to wiggle from my hands, she was upset to see the Flareon lose his paw then jumped out of my arms to join Vaporeon by his side. Umbreon was using Shadow ball on the Golbats, using his speed and power to his advantage to deal good damage. They were close to fainting with deep slash would and bad bruising from the shadow balls. They both called back their Golbats and called forward 2 new pokemon. Jupiter called out her Galvantula, a big yellow spider that was an electric type. Mars called out her houndoom, a dark dog like pokemon with horns and orange under belly.
Galvantula got closer to Vaporeon and Flareon but Eevee stood in front of them, defending them. They seemed surprised that the Eevee would go out of her way to help like a new bond had been formed while they were distracted. I knew from my pokedex as well as by looking at it that Vaporeon wasn't a match for this pokemon yet Eevee was still more than willing to stand up against a foe she might not be able to win. Mar just laughed as Houndoom attacked Ven with flamethrower but Vaporeon shot water gun to protect Ven. This made a steam smoke screen that Lace took the chance and go to their aid. She ran to Flareon and Vaporeon and tried to help. She had picked up Flareons paw and kept it in the ice. I need to finish this as soon as I can with the possibility that Flareon may die, if not from the ice then from the shock. With the last piece of strength that Flareon had, he used fire blast on Galvantula at close range and even caused burning to them as they were engulfed in the fire attack. he soon fainted and his breathing grew, this wasn't a good sign.
Thanks to the efforts of Vaporeon and Umbreon holding back Houndoom and Salazzle, Vens leech seed had them to the point of near exhaustion with the amount of life energy. It was like they were dying. They'd have set themselves on fire to stop this but Vaporeon kept putting the flames out, it was like they didn't have a chance. It seemed like with how things are going, that we'd be able to win this battle and stop their plans. It was this point that Mars and Jupiter looked like they were about to explode when a strange voice was heard coming from the speakers around the base.
"Mars, Jupiter, stop playing around and defeat them already" the voice boomed. The voice unknown to us was known to them, it was Saturn and he was in the security room since that's where he'd be able to talk and see their battle.
