"All-Might Speech"

"I'm Sorry Izuku, I'm Sorry." My mother sobbed while holding me as All Might's booming laughter played in the background.

Even my, mother thinks I can't be a Hero, what chance do I have? I don't have a quirk and I don't have any skills; how can I be a hero without a quirk? Everyone has a quirk, and everything needs a quirk, I can't be a hero and I just have to face the facts… I will never be a hero, not now, not ever, not in this lifetime.

The thoughts swirling around his head pulled him into a depressed cycle, his world crumbling before his eyes… along with his dreams. The thoughts offered no comfort, no relief, no respite, they only pulled Izuku further and further into the cycle as he closed his eyes and felt like the ground was about to swallow him whole. He felt as if the thoughts would never end, and he just wanted it to all end, everything… he didn't want to live in this world anymore, not when it would be worse than death without a quirk. He knew what his future held, working in dumps, scrounging for food… the world was not kind to the quirkless… Izuku didn't know what to do, his dreams were in pieces and now it just felt like his mom was stomping all over them instead of putting them back together, he had no future and he just wanted to die

Izuku opened his eyes and looked at his All Might toy on the ground, thinking of how he failed his idol by being weak and not being able to become a hero.

I'm sorry All Might, I can't be a hero, not even a person, in our superhuman society.

Izuku looked away the toy in shame to to see posters that littered the walls of his room, all of them for his idol, except for one, this poster was special as his mother and he had found it in a pawn shop. It was an old-school movie poster and he had immediately fell in love with it cause itlooked so cool! He immediately begged his mother to get it and the CD with it and it became one of Izuku's favorite things to watch, just after All Might's debut. The poster was for a movie called 'Enter the Dragon', and it was an old school Martial Arts film.

As Izuku looked at the poster he thought, Hmm… Martial Arts… Even if I can't be a hero I can make sure no one ever walks over me, I've seen it before from Kacchan, people only train their quirks extensively, a body has weaknesses, and quirks are just extensions of a body.

Izuku struggled out of his mother's embrace, growing more confident in his plan… he could help people this way, and that's all Izuku wanted and even if he couldn't, he could help himself. Wiping his eyes, Izuku looked at his mother with a fiery determination shining within them, comparable to the fabled fiery attitudes of Dragons.

Looking his mother in the eyes, Izuku asked firmly, "Can I get Martial Arts lessons, then? I want to grow strong so that I can still be a Hero, even if I'm not going the strongest, I can still be strong, I can still protect myself and others r-right? " A twinge of doubt, returning from earlier.

Inko Midoriya did not want to send Izuku to Martial Arts, but she knew that her son needed this, he needed a dream to hold onto, something tangible like Martial Arts training would help him get past this bump and it would be a welcome exercise, and sport that he could learn and excel at which would help him develop into a fine person. The fact that it also gave Inko a way of knowing that he would be at least able to defend himself from most villains, was only a bonus.

But the thing that truly pushed her to do it was the look in her son's eyes, a fire that proved he would be a hero, quirk or not. However, that was outweighed by the look of fear behind the fire that made her maternal instincts just scream out for her to help him. Inko knew she could not just apologize and cry, that wasn't what her son needed.

Wiping away her tears, Inko smiled brightly and nodded at her son while telling him calmly, "Alright Izuku, give me a few days and I shall find you a Dojo."

Izuku merely smiled wide and then thanked his mother. After the emotional moment they just shared, Inko put her son to bed and then walked out of his room, wondering how she was going to find a teacher for her son who would accept her quirkless son.

Thinking about it, Inko vaguely remembered a Martial Arts master that recently was in town, it was said that he didn't discriminate by quirk, only by attitude. He would accept you if he liked you but would eject you from the course if you didn't meet his standards. At least, that's what he told all who wished to learn from him. Inko could think of no other that would be better for Izuku. However, there were closer ones and she wished to try those for convenience.

Inko Midoriya was pissed but more than that she was tired. It was three days after she had promised Izuku that he could go to martial arts and she had followed through, calling all the nearby Dojos. Each time it would start well but the second the word 'Quirkless' escaped her mouth, they would make some excuse and then hang up. It pissed her off that they would discriminate like this but, she knew this would happen so wasn't that surprised. Inko looked through her list of contacts one last time before picking the last Dojo and dialling the number.

As she heard the ringing of the phone Inko looked over to Izuku where he was trying to do kicks and punches, the same expression on his face as he had when he asked her to sign him up for these classes.

Suddenly the phone picked up and a gruff, masculine, voice picked up, "Hello. Who is this?"

"Hi, my name is Inko Midoriya and I wish to sign my son up for classes in your dojo."

"I see… come by tomorrow at 8 and I'll see if I should accept your son."

"Thank you, sir, we will come by around 4."

"That is acceptable."

"Goodbye Sir."

"Goodbye." And with that last line the Martial Artist hung up the phone.

Inko sighed with relief as she lowered her phone from her face. She smiled slightly under her worried expression, happy that she kept her word to her son but scared that he might not be accepted. Either way they were going to go there tomorrow, and she would only tell Izuku once they were there, she wanted it to be a surprise.

Izuku was confused, he was sitting in the car, his mother driving them somewhere. He didn't know where and this trip continued his chain of weird events.

His day started out normal, he got up, got ready, went to preschool. That is where his day deviated, he talked to Kacchan who ,as was becoming the norm, completely ignored him and he just didn't know why, it all started after he told him he was quirkless and Izuku was starting to seriously reconsider their friendship… He decided to wait and see if he got better or worse. Kacchan might be-

His train of thought was abruptly ended as the car turned and parked in an empty space. Inko and Izuku exited the car and walked up an ominously long road towards a traditional dojo. Izuku would have been bouncing with happiness if not for the fear that he might not be accepted. Oh, he had heard his mother talking to the people on the phone and he knew what people thought of people like him. He just hoped that he would be allowed to join the Dojo.

He really wanted to be strong and not be pushed around- by anyone and he would make sure it wouldn't happen.

The mother and son duo slowly arrived at the door, both nervous as Inko rang the doorbell. The woman's hand had only just left the doorbell when the sliding door was forcefully and astonishingly quickly opened to reveal a weathered old man, almost stereotypically so, who was staring intently at Izuku. A moment passed before he says two sentences before abruptly closing the door, "I'll take you. Tomorrow, same time."

The pair were completely shocked for a moment as the crisp statements that were just uttered before Izuku let a whoop of joy before racing to the car ( as even excited Izuku knew that it was impolite to stay at his entrance) with Inko hot on his heels as they both released the breath they had been holding as they entered the car, Inko already planning to make Katsudon to celebrate (and cause she suspected there would be few opportunities to eat it due to his training).

Ten Years Later

I have to go to the dojo and pick up my stuff and thank Sensei Ito for his training and then I have a strength training area…

Izuku was sitting in class, lost in thought as he contemplated how he would continue training. Even if he had completed and mastered all forms of martial arts his Sensei taught him, he couldn't get complacent, and if he wanted to get-. Izuku's head jerked up as he heard his name uttered.

"- Midoriya's applied to UA as well, right?" The homeroom teacher said with a lecherous grin as he threw his student to the sharks- his peers.

The reaction was instantaneous, "DEKUUUUU!" as Katsuki Bakagou quickly got up and charged at Izuku's desk and he exploded to a crisp… only to find Izuku gone with his stuff. Katsuki looked around in bewilderment to see Izuku in his seat, packing Katsuki's stuff into his bag.

Once he finished, he wordlessly put the bag next to the desk and sat back down. The second he sat down Katsuki asked him with complete bewilderment, "H-How?"

Izuku simply replied," Ten years of Martial Arts Training that I just completed yesterday." He then exited the world and returned to his thoughts.

The entire class just stared at him in shock as he continued to pay them no mind, completely oblivious to them and not even caring that they were all staring at him. The only Indication that he had even participated in the event was the slight smirk that had permeated from his face since the incident began.

Izuku just didn't care, they were always staring at the puny quirkless kid, only now they knew he wasn't so puny. Izuku had always wanted to show them his skills but every time he would decide to do so he would remember his sensei's words when he learned Ninjutsu. "A ninja never shows his hand early, only when victory is assured will a ninja show what he can do."

Izuku would always think about that and remember that surprise was his best weapon and so he vowed to only show his hand after his training completed and even then he would only show his basic skills, no one needed to know that he had certain skills, or that his preferred weapon was a katana… or that he could kill every person in the classroom with ease. But he wouldn't he only would use his skills in self-defence.

The rest of the day went by without another incident and the people in the school gave him a wide berth. No one talking to him or looking at him, not that that was different from the norm.

At the end of the day, Izuku dashed out of the junior high and only when he was a good distance away did, he calm down and he started to stroll peacefully underneath an underpass. Now Izuku trained for years which meant his Instincts were honed razor fine. So, when a sewer cap was pushed open and he heard it fall to the ground, Izuku immediately turned into a battle stance, scanning his surroundings and trying to find the source of the sound. He scanned the area, looking for danger… which he found when he looked up to see a slime person who rushed at his face without a word, entering through his nose and mouth and effectively suffocating him.

As he lost consciousness, Izuku felt a weight in his hand and saw a horn resting there… before transmuting into a katana, and then he lost consciousness.

Momo Yaoyorozu was a happy 4-year-old, she had just found out her quirk! She could create anything she knew! At least that's what the doctor said. Her parents had been so happy for her, that they said they were going to have a party!

Momo loved parties, like any good 4-year-old and was overjoyed. She raced to her room with her parents, jumping up and down with joy. She was excited, just like every other 4-year old when they got their quirk, she had a power that was hers and hers alone.

Momo and her parents celebrated till bedtime, where Momo was tucked into bed and her parents left her room… to stop and talk outside of her room. Soon it seemed they reached a conclusion and left.

It wasn't till 2 days later that she learnt she was being put into private tuitions, and she was being put on a special schedule… and it left no time to have fun. Somehow, she knew her life had taken a turn… and it was for the worse.

Ten Years Later

Momo Yaoyoruzu was in one of her few happy moments- out in the city. No one watching her, no one telling her exactly what to do, and finally some free (not fresh) air. This only happened because she snuck out, and she knew she would be punished when she got home but GOD- did she need this, It had been 6 months since she had left her estate… granted it was a large estate, but still she was a teenager! She needed to leave, and just get out and about! And do things, anything!

Momo breathed in the air and looked around, at the city and its high crime rates, it's high population, and its high poverty rates… and she loved it! It was her escape from her dreary life, and dreary thoughts. Sadly, for Momo, the latter followed her to her walk as well and as she looked around, she took in how devastatingly depressing her life was. She saw the happiness in the people's eyes, how free they were, how they all had a certain light in their eyes, an air to them that felt so unfamiliar to Momo, freedom. Something Momo hadn't experienced since she was a child… since she got her quirk. She remembered how she would be allowed to play at the park and how she would go to school! School was a foreign idea to Momo, and that was why she wanted to go to U.A. She knew her parents wanted her to be a hero because of her quirk, and she wanted to go to school. That was the only reason she was co-operating, at least most of the time.

Momo knew that her parents would never do anything to damage their 'treasure's' (her quirk) as a hero so they had to be lenient when she snuck out. Momo gave a dry laugh over how she was like most teens by sneaking out, even though her reasons and activities couldn't be further apart. That thought sent her back into the self-pitying (even though it was warranted), depressed mindset she found herself in often.

No one knows who I am, no one cares and all my parents care about is my stupid quirk and how I will get into U.A. All they care about is my prospects, not me. I haven't even felt love from either one of them since that party in my room… Did they ever love me at all? I wish I could just die! What do I have to live for? Who would even care about me dying-

Momo's thoughts stopped as she felt something hit her on the forehead, break and then fall to the ground. She looked to the ground all she saw was a broken bottle filled with green- slime?

The slime oozed out of it's damaged, plastic container- wait what was that… Suddenly Momo saw two eyeballs look at her before jumping up at her before she felt her nose being infiltrated along with her mouth as she tried to scream.

Izuku woke up to someone shaking him vigorously, Izuku's eyes shoot open and he looked up to see his childhood idol looking down at him.

"Ahh, you are awake young man, I was scared there for a moment."

Izuku shot up and got into a fighting stance and scanned his surroundings, looking for an enemy… and a horn. He knew he hadn't imagined it and so it was confusing when he couldn't find it anywhere.

Wait… what… this can't be possible it was just here, ah, I'll deal with that later.

Izuku came out of his stance and thanked All-Might for saving him, bowing in a perfect 90-degree angle (because you should always show respect to those who deserve it). However, he continued to think about the horn/sword. He knew it was real, and now he would need to find it soon but put it to the back of his mind to think about after All-Might leaves.

He watched as the buff hero flew away, and then he turned around… if only he had watched for a few moments longer, he would see a frail man falling, with a bottle falling in the air away from him, both originating where All-Might just was a moment before.

Momo, was losing consciousness, she was scared, and her side was burned by the idiot who blew the slime up but left her there. Momo knew she was about to die… and she suddenly realised that she didn't care, she had wanted to leave this world, and wondered who would care if she died, and until now she had seen that none of the heroes cared as they all sat on their asses. She realized no one cared and so she started to relax, she stopped fighting the death that was being sent to.

Momo's world dimmed slightly and she felt the air deprivation get to her and as she welcomed death as she wondered if she could get a second life where she was happy. She wondered if she would just be gone when she died. As her world faded to black, she saw a boy rush past the barricade of people, a katana drawn. Momo's eyes drooped close, but the last thing she saw was that boy's face… with his burning emerald eyes, and Momo saw something she longed for her entire life… someone cared about her. Momo raised her hand to reach him, silently begging him to save her, from the villain, and her life. She had always wanted someone to care about her, anyone at all… and now she found them. As she watched her world leave her for the darkness, she changed her plea-

God… please let me survive, I need him… I need to know what it feels like to be cared about, even as just a friend…, I want to live… I WANT TO LIVE!

AN:- So... Momo's Suicidal, yeah i wanted to do something different, and this seemed like the best way to not repeat the same story again and again. I hope you enjoyed it and are at least partially intrigued and that this complete load of Backstory and setup didn't bore you to death. Next chapter is the Villain fight... and I just want to say that it will have a large aftermath which will be the focus of the rest of the chapter. I hope you enjoyed it and if you did... please tell me, it lets me know that people care about my work and it'll make me write larger chapters.
I'll try to set up a posting schedule after i see if this is any good and anybody likes it ( I highly doubt that)
Anyways, that's it... Byeeee...!
