Chapter 4: How Many More Need to Know?

"'Ello, me wee brother. What do I owe this pleasure?" The Scottish man said in an almost syrupy voice.

"Cut the crap, Allistor. I am not calling you to be patronized. I was just letting you know that myself and several other nations will be coming across your border for a few days." The British man snapped.

"Why?"

"There was an incident and I need to gain an audience with the Fairy Queen. I know that it will take a few days, so just imagine we are on holiday at your place. We won't cause any havoc, so don't be concerned." Arthur answered quickly hoping his older brother would just ignore their presence there.

On the other end there was silence for several minutes. "What happened?" The thick Scottish accent came through the receiver more serious than he normally was.

"Bloody Alfred decided to throw a party at my house. I was already in the middle of working a spell so I just ignored his antics. Well, apparently there were some fairies about and they didn't care too much for Alfred's commotion. The only ones affected by the fairies' trickery were the people involved at the party. They are all children now."

"How many wee babes are there?" Allistor asked.

"Well, there is Alfred, Lukas, Gilbert, Elizabeta, Lovino, and Vlad. So, that makes six. Matthew arrived earlier this afternoon and has been helping me out." Arthur explained. "Not that I couldn't take care of them myself. It just makes it easier for him to take care of them while I try to find an answer to fixing our little situation."

"Of course," Allistor said with a hint of doubt in his voice. "Well, I will help ye out, wee brother."

"Thank you," the Brit replies. "Do we need passports for the kids?"

"Nah, just ID. Are ye able ta get that done?"

"Yes. Mathias will be here sometime tomorrow morning and we are going to have him create them." Arthur answers.

There was a long pause as if he was thinking everything over. After a sigh, the Scottish man said, "Alright. I will help ye and the babes. I 'ave some bad news for ye though. All airports are closed right now. The people 're protestin' again."

"That's fine. We can just drive there. Where do you want us to meet you? I need until at least the day after tomorrow to get everything ready for the trip."

Allistor replied that he would be in Edinburgh all day that day. They agreed to meet at the National Day of Scotland. As soon as he got off the phone, he filled the brothers in on what was going on. Matthew agreed to help Arthur plan and get ready for the trip the next morning. Alfred told Arthur that he would do his best to behave but the older man wasn't entirely convinced.

The next morning Matthew was hoping to sleep in for a bit but luck was not on his side. Somewhere beyond his closed door he heard yelling.

"Get back here!" A young girl's voice echoed through the hallway.

"Leave me alone." One of the young boy's yelled back. Matthew couldn't tell which one it was. "I didn't do it! It was Lovi, not me!"

The Canadian let out a sigh and rolled over. It looked like five more minutes wasn't even possible. Pulling on a fresh shirt and pair of jeans, Mattie opened the door. After putting on his glasses and smoothing out his hair, he emerged into the hallway. Moments later he found most of the kids in the living room. Lukas was sitting on one of the chairs with one of Arthur's spell books. Sprawled on the couch watching cartoons was Alfred and Gilbert. Lovino, Elizabeta, and Vlad were nowhere to be found.

Matthew leaned on the back of the couch. "I heard yelling. What's going on?"

"Oh, you know. Lovi decided to try to pull a prank on Liz. Now Liz is on a warpath but she thinks Vlad was in on it, so she is after him, too." Alfred explained.

"What did Lovino do?" Matthew asked, although he was slightly afraid to hear the answer.

There was a long pause, with only the TV noise in the background. The three young looking boys glanced at each other. Quickly two of them placed a finger to their nose. Gilbert sat there not realizing that he had lost a silent game of nose goes.

Looking around the small albino realized what happened. "Oh, man. You guys suck." He let out a huff. "Lovi was upset about her being so bossy yesterday, so he decided to put bugs in her bed."

"Real bugs?!" Matthew was shocked at the thought.

"No," Gil chuckled. "They were some of those rubber ones that they found in Al's old room. Anyway, when she woke up she freaked out and for some reason she thought it was Vlad."

"They have had issues a lot in the past, so if he is anywhere near her when something weird happens, she blames him first," the small Norwegian explained.

"So, that's what happened." Gilbert concluded.

Matthew rubbed his forehead. "Can't you guys just leave her alone?"

Before he could even get an answer, he headed upstairs to find the three that were being rowdy. It turned out not to be very difficult to find them because of the sheer noise level. The Canadian found Elizabeta in the back guest bedroom with Vlad and Lovino trapped in the corner. At some point, the young Hungarian had made a pit stop at the kitchen. This was evident by the frying pan in her right hand.

"Woah, Elizabeta." Matthew said approaching her cautiously. "Let's just stay calm and not hurt anyone."

"I've been calm." She hissed. "They keep messing with me and I am tired of it."

Lovino rolled his eyes. "Maybe we wouldn't prank you if you weren't so bossy."

"I'm not bossy." Elizabeta huffed.

"You kind of are." The bushy brown haired boy continued. "Ever since we were turned into kids, you've been telling us what to do."

"But you guys were being awful and that doesn't look right in a kid's body. If we go out you can't be acting like rude adults when you don't look like it." The girl explained.

Matthew thought about it for a bit. "You know she's right." The other two sighed and nodded. "However, Elizabeta you have to stop bossing them because they are just going to continue picking at you. How about this? I'll be the 'parent' and take care of their behavior and you just enjoy this break from responsibility."

After a few moments of silence, Liz deflated and agreed to Mattie's terms. She handed him the frying pan and headed out the door.

"No more." The Canadian warned. "You're just lucky I found you and not Arthur. He would have let her beat you. We're all stressed over the situation and you are not helping by picking at Liz."

Both of the boys grumbled something that Mattie couldn't quite understand and then headed downstairs. Deciding it would be best to make breakfast, he headed for the kitchen, frying pan in hand. Luckily said pan gave him an idea of what to make everyone. Soon everyone, minus the homeowner, was placed before a plate of scrambled eggs, sausage links, and toast with strawberry jelly.

Thud, thud, thud.

Three knocks came from the front door. Lukas, who had been reading a spell book and telling Vlad that they should try some, froze. He was staring wide-eyed at the entrance. It was Arthur who answered and let the tall goofy haired man in.

"What's up, Artie?" The Danish man-child greeted.

"My name is Arthur, you dunce." The British man snapped. "Come in. Everyone should be in the living room."

The two older nations wandered into the family room. As Arthur had stated, all of the kids and Matthew were hanging out around the room. Matthew and Elizabeta were playing chess, with Gilbert and Vlad watching intently. Lovino and Alfred were playing a card game that looked a lot like poker.

As soon as Mathias' eyes landed on the frozen Lukas, he ran over with a huge grin. Picking the small blond up out of the chair, the older man practically squealed with joy. "My dreams have come true. My little Lulu is back. Big brother will take good care of you."

After the initial shock, pure anger spread across the young Norwegian's face. "Put me down, you idiot. Even though my body is that of a child's, I can assure you that I am not."

The Dane's face fell. "But I thought…"

"Well you thought wrong," Lukas huffed, arms crossed.

Mathias sat the angry blond down. "So, how many of you got turned?"

"Six." Lukas patted the wrinkles out of his shirt. "We've found a way to possibly fix this but we have to travel to Scotland. Which means we need ID for these bodies."

"I see. Mattie gave me the basics when he called last night. I brought the stuff but I wasn't sure of the details."

"That's because we are trying to keep this quiet. Which means. No. One. Needs. To. Know." The Norwegian glared at his older brother. "Not even Tino, Berwald, or Emil."

"Fine." Mathias pouted.

"So, what do we need to do to start the process?" Arthur cut in. "We need them by tomorrow morning."

The blue-eyed Dane thought about it for a minute. "It's doable. We will start by getting each of their pictures."

"Brilliant." Arthur smiled.
