Chapter 50: Tank vs Mars

Tank:

Heading back into the mountain and down the stairs, I approached a room where Mars was waiting near the entrance. She was clearly expecting me, and I don't think she'd be disappointed. I sighed and held a pokeball and said "you can't just wait for the enemy to show up all of a sudden" she turned to me quickly and called out 2 of her pokemon, a Bronzor and a Golbat. Based on past experiences, she's clearly holding back to gather how strong I am. I called out Lady and the milotic made their appearance. I called to Lady "use surf then follow with an ice beam" the cave we were in flooded quickly with water. Mars rushed out of the save entrance with her Bronzor and released her Skuntank. With a soft cry the cave entrance was frozen, I had blocked off the only way for her to enter that section.

Now I can defeat 2 of her team while taking advantage of the confusion, with how they work it wont take long for her to return to battle. I need to take this chance, I called out "Lady, use twister" with a flick of the tail a gust of wind spun and picked up the water creating a hurricane made from water in the middle of the room. I noticed as I commanded the attack to go, both the Golbat and the Skuntank jumped back as if they saw the attack coming. How did they know to jump back? I called out "ice beam" the ice beam hit the water twister and send ice shard out hitting both of the pokemon at once, thanks to the twister making the projectiles unpredictable, they couldn't dodge this attack. The damage to the Golbat was doubled and the damage to the Skuntank was significant but not enough to make either one faint and to top it off, the twister was frozen over. I can't exploit the twister tactic for future ideas.

Skuntank suddenly puffed up and shot from its mouth a thick and deep purple cloud from its mouth and Golbat flew up and flapped it wings hard, making a gust of air to push the purple cloud toward me. They were acting as if they were getting orders from Mars to do this yet she wasn't even in the room. So how can this be happening? I covered my mouth quickly and called back Lady. It was obvious this attack was poison cloud and the Golbat used gust to control the direction of the cloud. When I looked back, 5 of her pokemon were facing me, her Salazzle, Houndoom and Scolipede. As I stood there, I stand against a team of pokemon that is somehow getting orders from their trainer without the presence of the said trainer. None of them had signs of a communications device on them, even if it were hidden there'd be signs of it. Houndoom threw a flamethrower through the poison cloud and it was more powerful, being amplified with the gust of air. The flames had a wider range and was overwhelming. I had to act fast and I called out Lady then called out "use waterfall" the water on the floor rose up and created a wall of water to block the fire.

The fire was dulled and shot through the water, the attack missed me but barely. I threw my pokeball into the air and called out Dazzle, the Vikavolt and said "use thunderbolt" sparks flew from Dazzle and shocked the water. The water carried the lightning attack and shocked the Houndoom, Skuntank, Salazzle, and Scolipede. All were damaged hard thanks to my lightning attack being amplified in the water. They were bleeding badly and some even hard bad degree of burns from where the lightning attack hit most. Seems like even with advantages like that, I'm at a disadvantage to them type wise. With the surface of the ice been left with a thin layer of water, I saw that Houndoom was melting the ice with its flamethrower attack. They were trying to reconnect with their trainer, despite acting as if they were getting told what to do.

I threw a pokeball and called out Ven. I told Ven "use vine whip" vines lashed from under his leaves and buried into the ground then wrapped around myself and Lady. I then told Lady "use twister" like last time, Lady whipped her tail and caused a twister in the middle of the room. Unlike last time, the twister picked up the water from my defensive tactic as well as shattered pieces of ice from the ground. The twister pulled hard on everyone in the room closer and closer to the swirling vortex, with the ice shards spinning like knives. Thanks to Vens vines, us 3 were safe and the Vortex successfully pulled in the Skuntank and Golbat, making them faint but with severe wounds that would require first aid if they hoped to survive. Because of the swirling waters, Houndoom and salazzle was heavy damaged due to fire being weak to water attacks.

I was able to reduce the number of her pokemon by 2 and 3 of them were present. The 6th pokemon must be with her, I rememberd she had a Bronzor and they're a psychic and steel type. The only explanation I can think of is that her Bronzor was using psychic to pass messages to her team. That explains why they're movements wasn't so random and the lack of confusion. Moments later the ice burst open and Mars walked through the cave entrance with her Bronzor. She explained "using a psychic attack on ice was easy work, especially when the ice has been thinned by fire. Very impressive work to separate me from my pokemon but to no end" thanks to that small distraction I was able to turn the table into my favour and get an advantage over Mars, yet she still looks beaming with confidence. With such a situation, how can she be so confident in victory?
