Chapter 51: Shaymin joins the battle

The poison cloud continued to fill the cave we were in and it grew both thicker and changed a darker shade of purple. Within the dark cloud a dim light was made, and a flamethrower burst from the poison and hit Ven, it was super effective and dealing second degree burns. Surprised by the sudden attack I realised; she was using the poison cloud as 2 types of distractions. The first was to cover their movements, hiding what they were doing and ambush with a surprise attack, so I'd have no time to respond. The second was because of the fact every inch of that cloud was an attack in its own right. Ducking out of the way was easy, but the cloud bared down on me and my 2 pokemon. I knew I had no pokemon that would be able to combat the poison cloud, Umbreon and Espeon who were with me would be in harm's way if I were to, they wouldn't be able to contain this amount of poison at one time. Especially Espeon who recently evolved.
Soon becoming engulfed by the thick cloud, I called my pokemon back into their pokeballs and covered my mouth quickly. I was fortunate enough that I didn't inhale any of the poison and I heard a small giggle from Mars. She called out "scared to fight back now that I'm here. How much of a coward are you if you don't fight back" I made sure to keep Umbreon and Espeons noses were covered. I heard smaller noises, I couldn't tell if it was her pokemon moving into position or if it was her moving closer for tactical advantages.
The cloud of poison seems to have stopped and was shrinking, I became confused as I watched the poison cloud fade away. The cloud was being sucked into a small pokemon with yellow on its back and had a red flower near its head. It as a Shaymin and it seemed like it was getting even more pale. I approached the Shaymin when it's came out of the pale shedding. It was like it took the poison and converted it into nutrients for plants. It jumped around and ran around me as if it was ready to either play or do battle. Mars was as confused as I was and commanded "Salazzle, use poison gas" the Salazzle took a deep breath and shot out a deep purple gas that came toward me and the oddly coloured Shaymin. Shaymin stood its ground and took in the poison. Reading the pokedex, it read that Shaymins have the capability to take the toxins in the air and ground then purify it, that means it could depollute the area its in. this Shaymin went out of its way to help me in this battle. I called out Lady and said "use surf quickly" with a flick of Lady's tail then sent a wave of water crashing toward Mars and her 4 remaining pokemon.
Panicked both her Salazzle and her Houndoom used over heat. The area around both pokemon heated up rapidly and even the stones in the cave grew hot from the heat waves being created from them charging their attack. They blasted high flames to the wave of water with Shaymin rushing to Lady's side. The fire attack was so intense that it held back the wave of water, evaporating it on the stop and continued to push the water back. The Shaymin glew and then changed its form, the pokedex scanned and said it was the Shaymins sky form and had a deeper connection to the sky which it purifies. The Shaymin flew up and makes a wave motion, the move used was air slash and it amplified the wave of water, pushing the fire back to both Salazzle and Houndoom. Both pokemon were knocked back with deep wounds from the slash of water. While they were prone, I took the opportunity to attack them. I called out "use water gun" Lady shot water from its mouth and shot it at Salazzle making it faint. If nothing else I had to make sure that Salazzle was out of the picture, I can't let the same thing as last time happen again.
The wave both of the fire type pokemon was holding back, burst through the flames and crashed into the Houndoom knocking them out, with broken bones and minor injuries. With the help of the Shaymin, the number of her pokemon dropped from 4 to 2 in mere seconds. Mars looked so angry that her face was almost as red as her hair. She cried out "you think you've won this battle? You think this is but a game?" I held my chest remembering the damage that was dealt to me as she continued "I have had it with you and your meddling you worthless little brat" she may be confused but her rage was clear. "you don't have any right and neither does the gym leaders nor the elite four, we play by our rules and no one elses. Scolipede, use venom drench" the Scolipede shot out of its mouth a small rain of poison droplets. The droplets poisoned Lady and Shaymin. The Shaymin poofed and fell to the ground, reverting from the sky form back into its based form. This time it was weakened and being hurt consistently.
Rushing to Lady's and the Shaymins side, I pulled out and quickly administered an antidot to them both. Unfortunately, the damage the poison gave to them both was bad, minor but bad as it affected their battle capability. I gave both a potion, but they need time to recover from the attacks. While I was healing, the Scoplipede was swaying side to side but it seemed different. I called back Lady and looked to my foe, the last 2 was a Bronzor that was a psychic steel type and a Scolipede that was a bug and poison. I had to consider what one of my team to sent out and have the best advantage possible.
