Chapter 52: The defeat of Mars

Tank:

Looking over my pokedex formulating a strategy, Umbreon and Espeon jumped forward, ready to attack both her pokemon, the Bronzor and the Scolipede. Looking at the pokedex, it showed that Umbreon and Espeon were the best to fight the last 2 remaining pokemon. Espeons psychic was strong against Scolipede and Umbreons dark was strong against Bronzors. I agreed to them battling and petted their heads and told them "use your agility to your advantage and attack when I give the signal" they both nodded and dashed quickly to Bronzor and Scolipede. I petted the Shaymin and told it "I need you to counter any more poison clouds they may form while here" the Shaymin nodded as if pumped up to help. Watching them dash with Shaymin, the Scolipede attempted to grasp hold on either espeon or Umbreon but due to them, they're too hard for the Scolipede to catch.

Fortunately, the agility of both of the eeveelutions were greater than the attacking capability and neither of her remaining pokemon don't seem to be able to land any kind of hit on either one. Unfortunately, both are using most of the capabilities to dodge, theres no much of a chance or timing for either one to land even a single hit upon either one. Tactically speaking, I have the advantage but that doesn't do much good in the current situation. Mars appeared to have grown more and more angry with how the events has transpired. And she shouted out "Scolipede, use poison sting" curled around its own body, it continued to spin rapidly and without warning started shooting out needles coated in a poison. Espeon was quick enough to dodge such an attack, however, Umbreon allowed the poison to get to him. I saw why he did this and prepared an antidote.

With umbreon poisoned he made his way to me where I gave him the antidote. I rubbed his head and smiled to him saying "first part is in place, now we just wait" Mars was too distracted to notice and with a quick psychic attack, Scolipede was sent flying back and slammed hard against the wall next to the cave entrance. With heavy damage, Scolipede fell to the ground and Espeon stood in front of Umbreon protectively, as expected from his younger sister. I spoke calmly "Espeon, think you can keep up the attack on the Scolipede? Right now, all we need is time and victory is ours" Espeon nodded and glared to the Scolipede. The Scolipede rushed across the cave faster than before. Must have used Agility to boost its speed while it distracted us with that display. Impressive, must have been planned by both it and Mars. Espeon was barely able to move out of the way and when I looked closer, I saw the edges to a barrier and as I looked to my pokedex the answer was clear. The pokedex revealed the move, trick room was used and this slowed Scolipede back to its base speed and Espeon quickly used confusion on Scolipede.

Mars regained her grin with over confidence, and she laughed loudly as if she were close to victory as was. Looks like my move has gone unnoticed or she's that confident, thanks to that laugh, it's hard to tell which one it is. Espeon mut have set up that room the moments she stood in front of her brother. With the Scolipede hit by confusion, theres a small chance, roughly 10% that there will be an extra effect to that attack. Scolipede seems unphased by Espeons attack and sadly luck wasn't on my side for those odds. The Shaymin stayed by my side and started to run circles around me. Was strange to have such energy especially at this time and this kind of place. Espeon prepared for the attack and struck with a sand attack, kicking the dirt into Scolipede's eyes and dashed around the other pokemon. This is to cause confusion and to take advantage as the other pokemon shoots poison sting out randomly in the hopes of hitting a target. Espeon tried her best to dodge but out of the stingers, she got hit by a handful and as I prepared another antidote, Espeon stood there as if nothing happened. There were no signs of Espeon being poisoned and instead Scolipede was showing signs of it, not as prominently but still some.

Scolipede fell and was having a hard time breathing, assuming it was poisoned somehow and Espeon gave a final blow with psychic. The goal of the attack was to render the Scolipede unconscious and not to kill. Mars turned to her Brozor who was asleep and neither her nor I saw exactly when that happened. Mars got mad and shouted "how did that happen?!" looking through the pokedex I found my answer. She continued "you were supposed to make that Espeon get to sleep" I realised after her plan was told that I knew. I was surprised that Espeon had the hidden ability magic bounce, its able to bounce the status effect to another pokemon. I told her "you and your team are down"

A voice from the cave entrance continued "and he has back up" Mars turned and it was Lace standing by the entrance with her Vaporeon to her left and her Flareon to her right. There was also a Shaymin on her head with a small smile on its face. She continued "against another opponent, you're out numbered and the last of your pokemon is asleep" Mars gritted her teeth and retreated.

I sighed and looked to Lace as she approached and laughed "looks like you went through the mill" I looked to her annoyed by her words and tried to save face. I replied "that was a piece of cake" a bright light rushed by me and Lace as I was heading to the top of the mountain, Spear Pillar. We both looked with confusion before we agreed to head up, following the light as the final stages of this war was coming to an end, but who will be left standing?
