III.
Jacqueline and Fiona lay side by side on a bear hide adorning the Rogue's bed – the one that became the place of their first union (which, as both girls hoped, was not the last). Having exhausted even their considerable strength during the marathon of lovemaking, they were only kissing, tenderly and without excessive fervor.
"I hope they don't have any fleas in these furs", Fiona murmured languidly and absentmindedly during one of the breaks.
"Nothing a simple ward can't fix, I hope. But at least these beds are huge – each has enough space for a whole unit of soldiers, and we have two here", Jacqueline replied, turning over to stare at the ceiling. "Though I'm fairly sure we won't need the second one for... a while", she all but purred.
"Oh, I just thought... we left your Valkyrie outside, and she must have heard us", the red-haired girl noted suddenly, then blushed.
"The Valkyries are guardians of peace, not personal morality, darling. And if you wanted to invite her to join in, I'll have to disappoint you. They are superhuman beings, they don't do romance, much less the one of... the practical kind", the Amazon laughed playfully.
"I don't want to ask how you learned all that, love..."
Indeed the Valkyries, having transcended humanity, possess no fleshly needs anymore – neither food nor sleep... and nor pleasures, even though they appear as beautiful women and might, in a rather unlikely event, even evoke feelings in someone around them (with zero chance of reciprocation, of course). That does not mean they fail to understand the carnal necessities and passions that drive those they left behind with their ascension.
Of course the celestial warrior was not considering anything resembling Jacqueline's offhand salacious remark, but her thoughts were still connected to the events taking place on the other side of the sturdy wooden door. The familiarity of this act caused something to stir within her – and that was neither envy nor appetence of her own, but... recognition. Has she been in a similar situation herself when she was human? And if so... who was her companion in it?
