-Utopia, Island Home of the X-Men-
Wolverine drinks a beer and walks into Iceman's room "Bobby, I need to talk to you, got a minute?"
"Sure, What's up?" Iceman asked
"Scott and I had a disagreement. I'm leaving, I'll restart school. We need a place for kids to be kids… This place ain't that. I want you with me. I want you to be a teacher or something. We'll figure it out later… But I need you there, Bobby" Wolverine said
"Who else is with you?" Iceman asked
"No one, yet. I was thinking 'who's everything this place isn't' and I thought of you and came right over." Wolverine said
"Wow" Iceman exclaimed in fake surprise
Wolverine shows a pair of beers "Bobby, don't make me beg. I've got two cans left here and one is yours. C'mon!"
"You are lucky I really want one of those beers," Iceman said with a smile,
For the next couple of days, Cyclops and Wolverine talked with every member of X-Men, both trying to convince them to join their side.
The only thing Scott and Logan agreed on completely was that it would be better for Idie to be somewhere else.
When Hope heard of this her reaction was "This is my team. Over my dead body." And run to her room.
Luke followed after her "Idie was a broken fourteen-year-old girl and you found a way to smash to break her more. She's going to…"
"Shut up! She has to be here! So do you!" Hope shouted
"You've got a problem, Hope," Luke said, he raised his hand and it started to glow blue "You're not going to get away with it anymore."
"I never told you about my dad, did I?" Hope said "I mean he wasn't my dad- dad, but he raised me. He protected me. He took me to the end of time and back. He taught me how to punch to break a guy's nose. He taught me how to be cut without crying, anything worth teaching, he taught me. And he died in front of me. Like, two months back." she said, shocking Luke
'Cable is dead? How? He is supposed to be the biggest badass in Marvel. I guess he'll come back later but still, who could kill a Telekinetic, Telepathic, Cyborg Soldier from future?' Luke thought to himself, only for Hope to continue
"Him and a bunch of other people. All because… I dunno, they thought I was some kind of Messiah, that I could save everyone. I thought it was insane, stupid even, I mean… me? A messiah? No way. Look at the way I act. I'm no messiah. But I come back and you all appear, and I touch you, and you're all cured, and we're all bonded together, and I thought… My dad must have been right. It's all for a reason, like fate or something,"
Luke's hand stopped glowing "This isn't about you-"
Hope cut him off "It has to be for a reason because if I'm not this messiah, my dad died for absolutely nothing… We're together for a reason. We have to be."
"*sigh* I was wrong about you… I thought you were this stuck up girl, who always had to get her way, and a -"
"A fucking bitch, yeah. I know,"
"Yeah… sorry about that… but I guess what I'm trying to say is, this is the first time I'm seeing the real you, not the Hollier than tho Savior Girl … and I don't want to suffocate this side of you,"
"Heh, thanks"
"But Hope, this doesn't change the fact that if there is one person who needs to leave this Island, it is her," Luke said while lowering his hand.
"What about you? Are you leaving?" she asked
"I have to do what's best for me," he said as he walked away.
-Next Morning-
"Idie should go," Hope said to Wolverine, while Idie was next to her "Take better care of her than I did."
"Hope… I will be there for you when you need me." Idie said
"I know, Idie. I'm so sorry but I know." Hope said as drops of tear formed in her eyes.
-An Hour Later, With Luke-
"Computer - Check, Phone - Check, Chargers - Check, Clothes - Check, Cash - Check, Books - Check, Lucky Underpants - Check, Bikini Pictures of Ms. Frost - Check, I guess that's everything."
Luke closed the suitcase. And when he walked out he saw the Lights and Pixie,
Hope took a step forward. "Good, you're here. I can tell you all at once. Everyone knows Megan. She'll be joining the team from now on. She's going to help us with our transport problem."
"What? What ab-" Gabriel tried to say but Hope cut him off.
"Forget about it. It doesn't matter." She said and looked at Luke for a second before leaving,
"That meant 'I'll remember this and hold it against you forever'. Right?" Gabriel asked loud
"Oh, I do believe it did," Kenji said
"What did Gabriel do this time?" Luke asks
"Made out with Pixie," Kenji said
"Damn... Then I say you got off easy," Luke said as Gabriel and Hope just started going out.
"... Oh, I don't know about that. It seems someone's left Gabriel a gift" Kenji said after seeing the piece of crap on Gabriel's bed
"HAS TEON POOPED IN MY BED?" Gabriel screamed
After laughing for 2 minutes straight, Luke walked towards Idie's room, "Our ride is here, let me help you with your bag" the bag started floating "Let's get going"
Idie nods, but before she leaves she runs to Hope and gives her a short hug. "Call me if you ever need me,"
-Luke's POV-
Idie and I were walking towards the Black Bird but then we noticed a gathering of younger mutants.
Prodigy[1] was arguing with Hellion[2]. "You're just fooling yourself. Just because you go to a school, don't think that the world will let you be students,"
"Say what you like about Westchester, but I didn't have to hand in both my hands as part of a homework assignment. You stay here, and you're just meat in the grinder." Hellion said while gesturing to his prosthetic arms.
"One: More kids died at the school than here. You've got a bus full of dead friends you're forgetting. Two: You're under threat everywhere, at least here we get a chance to do something about it. Wolverine wants us to be children. Nice dream. None of you have been a child since your X-Gene kicked in, and you've been a target. And if I'm going to be a target, I want to be a target who shoots back." Prodigy listed his reasons for staying.
"You know, Prodigy, you won't get your X-Gene back by overcompensating," Hellion said, they looked like they were about to fight, so I immobilized them by making them float
"Enough you two," I said while dropping them "Hellion might be an asshole, but he is right," I said getting murderous looks from New Mutants
"Not about the overcompensating part. About going to Westchester. It might not be for everyone, but for some of us, it is the right choice. Just take a look at Pixie, she has great control over her gifts and is the go-to-transportation-girl for Cyclops whenever a problem arises, but then take a look at me, while yes, I am powerful, my gifts are still very new to me, I have a lot more to learn, and in this place, I am sent to missions against other superhumans, and wait for Sentinel attacks. This isn't a place I want to spend my time in. I guess what I'm trying to say is, each of us has to choose what is best for us, not what is best for others." I said, getting everyone to quiet down.
Rockslide[3] decided to break the tension "Hey, enough talking. Blindfold[4]! Where you going?" he asked
"Westchester. But-" Blindfold said, but Rockslide cut her off.
"See! She can see the future. Anyone who doesn't go to Westchester is fighting fate itself," he tried to be funny, only for everyone to throw their stuff at him.
"Idie, let's go," I told my youngest friend. She nodded and we got to the Black Bird. Idie was silent for the entire flight, the rest of the students couldn't stop talking. I got so tired from their bullshit discussions keeping me from my sleep, I found a new application to my powers, I can now use gravity to manipulate sound waves.
Once we got there Idie finally spoke "This is all my fault, isn't it? I'm the girl who broke up the X-Men," she said
I was going to say something, but Logan beat me to the punch "No darlin', not at all. You helped lead us home," he said while putting a hand to her shoulder.
When we were walking towards the gate, I saw the half-broken sign of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. And as I looked at the broken state of the X-Mansion, all I could think of was 'This place is going to be a hell to clean up!'
Characters:
Prodigy [1]: David Alleyne was a mutant until M-Day, he lost his mutant powers after the event. Luckily, his powers were pseudo restored/amplified thanks to Stephen Cuckoos.
Hellion [2]: Jullian Keller, the definition of douchebag rich kid, who happens to be a telekinetic mutant. He used to be the leader of Hellions.
Rockslide [3]: Santo Vaccarro is a mutat with rock-like skin. He is generally liked by most mutants, but due to being in Hellions when he first got to the X-Mansion, he is closer to them than anybody else.
Blindfold [4]: Ruth Aldine is a blind mutant with vast psionic powers, most notably her precognitive abilities. She used to be part of Paladins Squad under Kitty Pryde.
