"We work in the dark, to serve the light. We are Assassins."

Nassau 1715

Kidd grinned. "I think I got a prop'sition for yer."

"What is it Mate?" Korra said

"You help me locate the person I'm looking fer and I'll help you find the Observatory by becoming an Assassin."

"Oi! Hold it mate." She said sticking her hand out. "Who said I wanted to be an Assassin?" She finished as she put her mug down.

"I think yer dreams already decided that for yer" Kid said regaled, nodding his head toward her. "Listen, mate, der's only three ways you can know about the Observatory, one, "He said putting up his index finger. "Ye came across ancient writings about the Observatory, two," He said putting up his middle finger. "Yer an Assassin, or three," He said finally holding up his ring finger. "Yer a Templar, a part of the Templar Order and I doubt yer that."

"But I'm no Assassin either." Korra started.

"Maybe, Aita believes yer the savior of the world and the person to hold all 4 elements," Kidd said smirking. Korra leaned back and rubbed her chin with two fingers. She then leaned forward as if she had a sudden epiphany.

"Oi, what about Mako? How does he know." Korra said puzzled. Mako looked at Kidd and took a sip of his rum. Korra looked back and forth between the two. "Oi!" She said wanting to know.

"Ha-ha," He laughed tapping his hand on the table. "Seems like you've got a little to learn about yer mate der'. Captain Korra" Kidd said taking the last sip of his rum. "Come and find me when yer mind is made." He scooted out his chair and rubbed his hand through his hair. He gave them good bye's and walked away with his hands in his pocket.

"Mate?" Korra asked looking at Mako.

"Aye." He said looking over at her.

"Yer -" She was interrupted.

"An Assassin? Aye." Mako answered finishing her question. "Me and Bolin."

"Since when?"

"Since teens, our parents were Assassin's and were killed by the Templars. So, the Brotherhood took us in and trained us." He said this as he waved his halfway cut right ring-finger.

"Wait, that's from yer training?"

Aye, it's to hide this. "He flicked his wrist and a hidden blade unsheathed its self and slid up to where his ring finger would be.

"Why hide yer weapon, ye should be proud to face off against yer opponent," Korra said roughly.

"We work in the dark, to serve the light. We are Assassins." He flicked his wrist once more and the blade sheathed its self-back. He looked over at her. "We are a hidden creed who protects the free will of the people, we can't be seen."

"Is being one of my crewmen a way to keep it hidden?" She asked.

"Aye, it was matey, but I follow yer command because I know yer passion from free'om, yer an Assassin by heart. But yer boldness and yer impatience make ye and pirate at heart too." He said looking over at her.

"So, what happens if I say yes?" She pondered.
" Well, I'd train you at the Sanctum of the Creed, give you yer weapons and you begin to serve the light from the shadows as an Assassin and a pirate." He took a sip of his rum and sucked his teeth.

"And the Observatory?" She asked

"Well maybe Kidd's right, maybe yer the savior of the world." He said laughing. Korra rolled her eyes. Then her attention was adverted.

"Ye here that matey?" She said surveying the Island.

"Oiiiii!" They heard from a distance.

"I hear it now," Mako said searching. He pointed to a man running and waving a piece of parcel in his hand. "There."

"Oi! Oi!" He said finally running up to them. They stood and greeted the courier.

"Aye matey, take a breath," Korra said resting her hand on the back of the doubled-over man. He took two deep breaths and stood back up.

"Cap'n Korra an l-letter from the King." He said still taking in air.

"The king?" Mako said looking over at Korra.

"The King." Korra echoed after Mako. She had a fleeting thought about Asami and a pang in her chest, but it was soon washed over. A devilish grin etched across her face as she was handed the letter.

"Also, he said regaining his breath, I need to find Cappy James, he's received a letter from an informant."

"Aye, he went that way past the hill," Mako said pointing in the direction behind him.

"Tanks." The courier said. Korra clapped him on the back and thanked him and then he ran off towards kid."

"Jaysus matey!" Korra said putting up to the sky and kissing it.

"Shite, mate open it, open it!" Mako said patting Korra's shoulder. She slid her finger under the royal seal and opened it. Mako began reading the letter over her shoulder. Their faces dropped with every passing sentence. "Jaysus fucking Christ mate," Mako called out, putting his hands behind his head.

"Shite, Jaysus mates a fuckin' bun-" She was cut off.

"Korra?" Asami spoke.

1715 Nassau.

Asami continued to follow the bird until she could faintly see the makings of a path. After a few more minutes of walking, she was on a path that led back to the side of Captain Korra's mansion. "Ah thank you bird," She said clapping her hands together. The bird turned around and flapped back to her and landed on her shoulder. It was the prettiest bird she'd ever seen. Her feathers were so white it seemed like she was dipped in snow. Its eyes as striking and blue that seemed to be filled with the blue waters that surrounded Nassau like...Korra's. "Hmm." she thought to herself. She set off on the path the led into the town in search of the Captain. She passed by Bolin and Opal after walking into the town and stopped to speak to them.

"Princess," Bolin said coming up to greet her.

"Aye, Princess," Opal said following behind her.

"Asami smiled and greeted them. "Hi guys, but please just call me Asami."

"Aye, aye. Bolin said. "Oi! I see you've found the Captain's bird." Bolin said pointing to Asami's shoulder.

"T-this is the Captains bird?" Asami said to Bolin. "I knew something felt familiar about this bird." She thought to herself.

"Aye, you can tell it's hers because of the white feathers. It's native to the Island the Cap'n was born on." Opal said coming to stand next to Asami.

"Ahh," Asami said understanding now. "Well do you know where the captain is, her bird helped me back to the main path. I want to thank her properly"

"Aye, we're just about to head to where she was," Opal said. Opal led the way down through the town. They climbed the hill that the tavern sat one and once in view that caught sight of Korra and Mako.

"Jaysus fucking Christ mate," She overheard

"Shite, Jaysus, mates a fuckin' bun-" she heard echo after.

"Korra?" Asami spoke out. Korra looked up with a clenched jaw searching for the voice who called her name. Her eyes began filtering between the paper and Asami. As Asami walked closer Korra tried to smoothen out her face.

"Ah, I see you met Naga," Korra said stepping to greet her. Naga jumped of Asami's shoulder and flapped to perch on Korra's.

"Aye, she helped me find my way back after I wandered off into the forest." She replied. "I came to return her back to you."

"Thank ye, princess," Korra said trying to slide the paper into her shirt.

"Captain?"

"Aye, princess."

"What is that piece of paper?" Asami asked pointing to the Captain's chest.

Korra's facade faltered and empathy seeped through the cracks on to her face.

"Princess, I-" Korra fell off. "I think we should talk about this out of earshot. "she said looking around all the people at the tavern.

"Okay, Captain," Asami replied. Korra nodded to Mako and went over to Opal and Bolin to fill them in on what happened.

As Asami and Korra walked away she heard Bolin call out. "Jaysus mate." She turned around to look at Bolin who quickly averted his eyes when they made eye contact. Asami stopped which caused Korra to stop and turn to face her.

"Korra, what is it?" Asami asked. Korra's eyes flickered with anger and sorrow as she pulled out the letter.

"Princess...We received a letter from the kin-, yer father." Korra said handing her the letter. "'Sami..." Korra said after handing her the letter. Asami began to feel an anxious nagging pulling at her. She reopened the already open paper and began to read it aloud.

"To Captain Korra and her Bube filled Crewmates. I, the King, will not pay any ransom for my daughter. You may keep or kill her, it makes no difference to me. She is my daughter, but she will never be heir to my thrown. "Buss my blind cheeks." as you and your bilge rats call it. To hell with you Captain Korra." Asami was at a loss for words. Her eyes began to fill, and she hung her arm and let the letter slip from her hand. She started to walk away. Korra was at a loss. She bent down and retrieved the letter, dirt staining the royal seal. Korra then went after her. When she finally caught up to the pale beauty, she saw her sitting on a cliff that overlooked the sea. Korra softly up and sat next to her dangling her legs over the edge.

"Listen, princess." Korra started but was cut short.

"You know, being in that castle I couldn't even remember seeing colors other than gray, and everywhere I went I was either with guards or my ladies. But the few days I've spent here is the freest I've felt since I was born." Asami pulled her knees to her chest and stared out past the vast ocean. They fell into silence for a few minutes. A tear dropped from Asami's face and glistened down her skin.

While Asami started into the sea Korra stared at her, taking in all her untouched beauty. Korra felt a pang in her heart that she'd never felt before. "What was this?" she thought. Before she could catch herself, she reached over and thumbed away the free tear that fell from Asami's emerald eye. Asami turned and smiled at Korra.

"Thank you, Captain."

"Fer what?" Korra asked slightly confused.]

"For kidnapping me and freeing me from my old life. These past few days I felt like I was freed from the shackles of my father."

"Um, yer Welcome," Korra said awkwardly. She began rubbing the back of her head while looking down.

"Listen, princess," Korra began. "Yer, welcome to stay with us. Ye been outcasted by the King and yer don't know what may happen when word gets out. We will make sure yer safe taken care of."

Asami leaned back on her hands. "You think I could be a pirate?" She said looking over at Korra.

"Aye," Korra responded nodding her head.

Asami smiled. "Well Cap'n Korra, I'd like to join 'yer' crew."

Korra laughed. "We got work on yer pirate talk, princess. But, first, fer ye to join yer have to do a 'Leap of Faith' if you want to join my crew." Korra said standing up.

"A 'Leap of Faith' and seriously?" Asami echoed after her."

"Aye, a swan dive of the cliff and no but I like to do it.," Korra said extending her hand out to help Asami up. Asami reached out and grabbed it feeling a sensation run through her hand until she let go.

"But this cliff is high," Asami said a little scared. Korra smirked

"I do this all the time." She said reassuring her. Which helped calm Asami down.

"Okay, I'll do it," Asami said stepping to the edge next to Korra.

"Oi! really?" Korra said in surprise.

"Aye, Captain Korra," she replied

"Just call me Korra," Korra said looking over to Asami. "On Three, okay?" Korra said

"Aye."

They both took a Leap of Faith of the edge and landed in the water below. They were surrounded by the gargle of water and the sound of bubbles they created from disturbing the water. They looked at each other smiling and, swan to the surface of the water. Both of their head popped up as they swan closer to each other wiping the salty water from their eyes.

"That was exhilarating and freeing. "Asami said while spluttering water out of her mouth.

"Aye, now you can do it whenever and wherever you please," Korra replied. They both swam to the shore and climbed out of the water with clothes weighing them down and dripping. They shared a laugh and began walking back to the others.

As the got closer to the other Korra saw Mako and Kidd talking hurriedly. Mako looked up and caught wind of the wet pair. "Korra," he said with a serious tone.

"Aye." She said walking up with a raised eye.

"We have matters that concern us," Mako said to Korra and turned back to look at Kidd.

"Aye, Cap'n Kidd what is it?" she asked finally walking upon them.

"It concerns the conversation we had earlier," Kidd said while eyeing the princess. "Wait, are ye, princess Sato?"

"Aye, I am." She replied.

"Then this concerns ye too," Kidd said back.

"Well, let us return back to my mansion and talk," Korra said.

They all gathered in the Court and circled around the table in the center of the room. James laid the papers he received earlier that day on the table. "My informant has led me to believe that the King is looking for the man I've been tracking, his names Roberts."

"Why would the King be interested in yer bounty Kidd?" Korra asked.

"Cause der's somethin' special about this mate. He's a sage."

"A sage?" Korra replied.

"Aye, I was going to tell ye bout' it when yer mind was made. But, Avast, a sage is what's needed to access the Observatory and to gain the matrix of the 4 elements." Kidd said

"What does the King need with the Sage and how does he know of the Observatory?" Mako asked.

"Mako, don't ye remember why we were sent to the castle?" Bolin said cutting in.

Mako put his head down. "Aye, I do remember Bo." He started. "We were sent to spy on the King for suspicions of being a part of the Templar Order." Mako looked over to Asami. "Asami did ye ever notice any secret meeting yer father would have?"

"Aye, there was this one time I was able to sneak past the guards and I saw Fa- the King, walk in with a few men who wore white robes with a red cross on the front," Asami said resting her hand on the table.

"Which means he planning to use the matrix to control the people free will," Korra said chiming in "And if he finds the sage first that means the Templars will have the Utopia, they dreamed fer."

"W-wait what does this all mean," Asami asked confused.

"It means yer Father, I mean the King, will use his power to control the people's free will to create a world he sees fit," Mako replied

"Which means, all of the pirates will be payin' a visit to Johnny Ketch." Korra finished as she looked around at everyone."
