Chapter Thirty Four
Making Things Right
Atobe opened his eyes and was wondering where he was. How did I get on my bed? He thought when he realized that he was in his room. And its daylight? As he noticed that the sunrays were creeping into his room through the curtains.
He sat up, and frowned as he felt another person lying next to him. I don't remember sleeping with anyone… he looked to his side and found his sister deadly asleep next to him.
How did she, and eh… he touched his forehead. "My fever's gone." He assessed the situation, and found cooling pads, blanket, and painkillers on his bedside table. She nursed me? Why would she do that?!
He was going to wake her up, but decided against it. He got off the bed, and walked to his bathroom to take a shower. I stink. Did I sweat so much?
After showering, and changing into a fresh pair of pants and a shirt, he walked out and found Fay sitting on his bed and rubbing her head. "Hey."
Fay looked up, "I'm sorry I fell asleep," she said, standing up. "I'll head to my room." She rushed out without giving him the chance to say anything.
"Wait…" he began, but she was already gone.
Fay reached her room, and decided to take a shower. When she walked past her bed, she noticed that her phone was blinking. She picked it up and found a text.

I'm sorry for what I did last night.
What does this mean now? So you sent me a text? Does this make everything better? She thought, heading into the shower. What a day?! She showered, and walked out of the bathroom. I should go finish my Christmas gift shopping today.
She looked at her dressing room, and pulled a pair of jeans, and a sweater. She topped it with a suede jacket, and wore boots. Picking up her bag, she walked out to the dining room for breakfast. "Good morning,' she said, finding her aunt and father at the table.
"Good morning," Akari replied cheerfully. "Did you sleep well?"
"I guess I did," she said, sitting down. A maid placed a napkin on her lap and served her some tea.
"Any plans today?" Mitsuru asked his daughter.
"I need to finish my Christmas shopping." She sipped her tea. "I haven't done anything."
"Ooh. Mind if I join you, dear?" Akari asked excitedly.
"Sure, you can help me out." Fay nodded cheerfully. They ate together and finally stood up to leave. "Shall we walk, aunt? The weather is nice."
Akari tied the belt around her coat, and nodded. "Sure, I don't mind. I'm used to walking." They walked along the cold streets of Tokyo until they reached the shopping district. "How did you find last night's event?"
Fay immediately thought of Takeda. "It was fine, I guess. I did get bored towards the end."
Akari did notice that she went quiet. Young love. Must be nice, she thought lovingly. "So who's on your gift list other than me of course?" she winked at Fay.
Fay grinned. "Well, I have father, Keigo, uncle Tarou and the help," she said.
"Tarou? You're getting him something?" she asked surprised.
Fay couldn't help shake off what her uncle told her last night. "There's nothing wrong with it, right?"
"I guess not," Akari murmured. Maybe I should do the same as well, she thought. "What about Takeda?"
Fay stiffened. "What about him?"
Akari knew what Fay was thinking. "Surely you will get him something? Even if you guys are not anything, he's still a friend of yours."
Fay was about to say something, but hesitated and remained silent.
"Fay, you know you can talk to me," Akari said, as they walked into Gucci by Shijuku station. Hmm… Mitsuru would love this jacket, she thought studying the black garment. Maybe I should get Tarou the same.
"I'd love to talk to you," Fay said, browsing through their shoes. "But for this one, I want to sort out my own feelings first."
Akari was dead surprised, but smiled proudly. "I guess that's fair." She's right, she needs to figure out herself but if she takes too long then I'll definitely butt in.
They continued shopping, had lunch and decided to do some more shopping. Just as they were about to go into Bvlgari, they heard.
"Atobe Fay?!"
Akari, and Fay stopped at that. Fay turned around and saw Sawada Aya and Sakamoto Hikaru. They walked towards her, and Aya glared at her placing her hands on her hips. "Why were you avoiding us last night, missy?" she demanded.
Fay blushed.
Akari laughed inwardly. "Fay, you hang out with your friends while I get a quick manicure and pedicure at the nail salon. I'll call you when I'm done," she said, walking off.
"Well?" Aya demanded.
Fay shrugged, and gave her a tiny smile.
"You probably had a fight with Ren," Sakamoto explained. "His mood was totally off all last night after his dance with you."
How right on the spot you are, Fay thought. "It's nothing serious. We had an argument."
Sakmoto raised an eyebrow, "the way Ren's mood was? That was not a friendly argument." He crossed his arms. "He didn't even sleep last night. He kept checking his phone."
Checking his phone? Was Ren expecting me to reply back? She thought surprised. "Really, it's nothing serious." Fay shook her head with a chuckle. Why should he care if I answered or not?
Fay didn't even give them the chance to speak. 'So what are you all doing here?"
Sawada knew Fay was ignoring their question but she didn't push it. 'Oh, "We're just hanging out."
"Oh, I see," Fay said. "Well, I'm Christmas shopping," she said, raising her bags.
Sawada's eyes lightened up, "oh? What did you get Ren? We're trying to figure out what to buy him, but we're all struggling. He's not easy to please."
Fay seemed a bit embarrassed.
Sakamoto sighed, "You weren't planning, were you?" he asked knowingly. "Didn't I give you our emails? I told you to call us if anything happens."
Fay sat down on the bench across them. "What do you buy a guy who you don't know where you stand with? It's kind of difficult, so I decided not to get him anything." They might understand him better than I do. I hate this feeling.
"Wow! Didn't expect that type of honesty from you. Are you confessing to us that you like him?" Sakamoto asked.
Sawada placed a hand under her chin, "Fay, Ren has family issues. If you want this to work then all he needs is space."
Fay shrugged slightly, and stood back up. "It doesn't matter really… People keep telling me has issues, and needs space. Did anyone consider asking me what I want?" she said quietly. "Anyway, it doesn't matter.." he rejected me twice, I'm not going to run after him anymore.
Sakmoto poked her slightly.
"What?" Fay said, a bit baffled.
"Matters or not, here he comes," Sakamoto said in a low voice.
Aya grinned, "with cute little Yuu."
Fay fidgeted. Too soon to see him, she thought. She turned, and her mouth went dry. He cut his hair?!
"Wow, Ren *cough* looks good…" Aya said, looking at Sakamoto.
Sakamoto nodded.
Fay saw Takeda walking towards them with a young boy sitting on his shoulders. The haircut he had gotten was shorter than his usual, a bit messy yet spiked, and showed his features even more.
Takeda stood in front of them, "so what do you think?" he asked with a smile. "Yuu only agreed to cut his hair if I cut mine."
The young boy patted Takeda's hair. "Me, and big brother same!" Yuu squealed.
Sawada held Yuu's hand. "Gorgeous,' she exclaimed. "It's like a mini Ren."
Yuu blushed and then his gaze fell on Fay. He pointed at her. "Pwetty."
Takeda turned his head to look at Yuu, "Say what?"
Yuu kept pointing at Fay. "Pwetty. Pwetty."
Takeda seemed a bit stiff, but grinned slightly afterwards. "Pretty?"
Yuu nodded, while Fay blushed when she realized what he had said.
Takeda lifted Yuu off his shoulders, and held him in front of Fay. "This pretty lady is big brother's friend. Her name is Fay."
"Fay!" he reached for Fay to hold him.
"Umm…' Fay began, looking around nervously.
Sakamoto took Fay's shopping bags out of her hands, and pushed her forward. "It's alright. He only bites me," Sakamoto said, "You can hold him."
Takeda let Fay pick Yuu up. "Umm… Hello?" Fay said.
Yuu hugged her neck. "Smell nice,' he said, and then looked at her with a smile.
Fay seemed to be enjoying herself talking to Yuu.
Sawada nudged Takeda, "maybe having her around isn't that bad,' she whispered.
"I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that," Takeda said.
"Shall we have some coffee?" Sakamoto said, noticing the atmosphere.
Fay lifted her wrist. 'Actually, I can't. I have to finish shopping, and my aunt might call me any time soon," she handed Yuu back to Takeda, and picked up her bags from Sakamoto.
Aya held her arm slightly, "don't forget to get us gifts. We're going to exchange gifts with you on Christmas day," she said with a grin.
Wow! That's rather forward, she thought steeping away, and bowed. "Good to see all of you," she said, stepping away and leaving them. Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. Oh my! He looks even hotter than before. I'm going to cry. Fay walked off, and felt her phone beep.

Still mad? You ignored my text last night.
This is what I like about him. He always wants to know. He doesn't allow misunderstandings, Fay thought. She quickly texted him back.

I don't know how I'm feeling, but I didn't ignore you. I saw your text this morning. I'm not mad, I just don't know how to put my feelings into words. And… Umm.. I'm sorry I slapped you.
You know… I think I'll go and get them all Christmas gifts, even Ren. Fay thought determinedly, heading to the brands section of the mall. I can still be civil.
A few minutes later, she got another message from Takeda while she was shopping.
