[Note]: Hi everyone. Thank you for supporting the story. I have been reading it again recently and decided to make a few changes. The last three chapters were removed and changed. Atobe's mother will commit suicide but at a later chapter. I just felt that it was a bit rushed. I hope that you like the new changes.
Chapter Forty
First Chapter of Dating
There was still another week of winter break before the start of the new term. Fay groggily opened her eyes, and found herself in bed with two furry things cuddling to her. Wha… when did they get in? she thought, noticing that it was her kitten, and brother's puppy. Fay turned around lazily, and checked her phone on the bedside table. She found a missed call and a text from Takeda. She opened the text and revealed the message.

I want to take you out to lunch alone, and then spend the afternoon together. Can you give me the whole day? *puppy eyes*
Fay laughed at the text. He really does make me laugh, she thought amused. She quickly texted back, okay and got off the bed. Before she headed to the bathroom, she received another text.

I'll pick you up at 12:30. Dress casually.
I wonder where he's taking me? She thought, deciding to shower. Half an hour later, she got out of the bathroom in a robe and walked into her dressing room. She dried her hair with the hair dryer, and decided to curl its ends a bit with a curler. Then she sat down in front of the mirror, and applied some natural makeup.
Finally when she was done, she looked around her dressing room, and was wondering what to wear. She finally settled on a gray ruched ankle legging, on top she wore a drop-waist cover-up sweater. It was low scooped up front and a bit revealing.
She wore black above knees booths, and picked up her belted cape coat to wear on top of the outfit when she leaves the house. As a final touch, she placed a hood on top of her hair. I hope I look good, she thought.
Fay walked down the stairs, and headed into the living room. She found her brother there looking at some CDs. "Oh, you're back," she said, catching his attention.
"Yes," he said, looking up at her.
Fay walked up to him, "Happy New Year."
"Yeah. Yeah…"
Fay raised her eyebrow, "Why so gloomy, Keigo. You just got back."
He gave her a wry look, "you know, I'm not doing this," he said with a che.
Fay hmmed, then ignored his wry look."How's your mom?"
Atobe Keigo looked at his sister as if he hadn't heard her question correctly. He looked at her ludicrously, "since when do you ask me about my mother?"
Fay shrugged, "Just curious I guess. I don't know how it feels like to have a mother."
Atobe went quiet. True… I keep forgetting she never grew up with a mother. "She's fine." I wish I had never gone. Mother is starting to drink a bit more than necessary, he thought annoyed with the situation.
Fay wanted to push him, but thought otherwise. "I'm going out for the day. Tell father I won't be back until late night," she said, walking out.
Atobe grunted in reply as Fay walked out. He sat on the big sofa den and placed his hand under his jaw. Hmm… I'm not sure if it was a good idea for me to leave mother alone. Selfish or not… She shouldn't be left alone when drinking.
He sighed, and then realized something. Wait a minute? Out all day? Since when does she have friends she spends all day with? He thought curiously. Ah… Who cares!
As Fay left the room, she walked out and found Takeda waking towards the door. He was bundled up in a coat and was wearing the scarf she gave him.
There's a weird feeling in me when I see him now. I get all giddy and excited, like a high schooler. Fay watched him. I'm so glad he's wearing my scarf! She thought excitedly.
Takeda reached by her side, and gave her a light kiss on the cheek. "Good afternoon, sleepy head. Do you know what time I texted you?"
"I tend to sleep in during the holidays," Fay said, hugging herself. It is cold today… she thought as they started walking.
Takeda nodded, "let's go," he said, taking her hand lightly in his. "We're having lunch first."
"Oh… You have other plans?"
He grinned, "You'll see."
Hmph. I hate it when someone tries to act mysterious.
They walked a good distance until they reached a very traditional Japanese house. "In the mood for something new?" he asked as they walked in.
"Always," Fay nodded.
They took off their shoes and walked into one of the pirate rooms that had a sort of a floor seat with the table on the floor. "This is nice,' Fay said, sitting down opposite him.
"Nothing but the best for my girl," he said with a grin.
Fay blushed at that remark. She took off her coat and hood and watched him. She noticed that he didn't take off his scarf. "You're not going to take that off?"
"Never! This is your gift for me," he joked, but then realized that Fay looked weirdly at him so he took it off. Takeda eyed her, and then cleared his throat. "Umm… …" Takeda began, then he threw his scarf at her. "Put it on. I don't want any distractions. I want to get to know you today."
Fay blushed even more, as she placed the scarf gently around her neck then allowed it to slide down so it covered her front. Is my blouse that revealing?
Takeda ordered for the both of them after green tea was served, and then began talking to her. "So how are things with your brother now? Last time, you told me that you're not getting along as much."
Fay thought for a minute, "I guess its okay…" she began, then sighed. "You know, Keigo's weird. One minute he's fine and trying, and then the next minute he remembers where I come from and gets all hissy again. I really don't get him…"
"You just do what you normally do with him. It's good that your father is keeping you both together, it helps." He remarked.
"I know! But he's weird. Like for two weeks, he doesn't talk to me and then for Christmas he gives me an amazing gift, so it really is confusing…" Fay complained.
Takeda chuckled; time to change the subject, "so what did he get you?"
Fay extended her arm, and showed him her wrist. "He got me a bracelet too," she said, showing it.
Takeda took her wrist and studied it. "It's nice, it matches mine."
Fay nodded. "Thanks, by the way. I really like it."
"Anytime," he said.
Their food arrived, and they continued chatting and eating. By the time, they realized the time. It was already two hours and a half since they were at the restaurant.
Finally Takeda paid the bill, and they stood up. They walked towards the door and outside. Fay took off his scarf and gave it back, and then put her coat on. Before she could tie the belt, "wait…" he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. He leaned forward and gently kissed her lips, then moved his head down and kissed her on the collarbone.
"Ren!" Fay said, pushing him away, "we're in public!" she hissed, moving away from him.
"Then don't wear such things in front of me!" he muttered, closing her coat for her and tying the belt properly.
Fay's cheeks heated, but she then composed herself. "There are half-dressed sluts around you at university every day," she said, somewhat annoyed. "Why is what I'm wearing bothering you?"
Takeda took her upper arm, and pulled her towards him. He leaned forward, and looked at her straight in the eyes, "because I can touch you."
Fay bit her lip, looking back at him. They were at a face off and she could've sworn that he would kiss her again. I… she thought, and then suddenly chuckled."You sound like a perverted virgin."
Takeda grinned. "In your dreams I'm a virgin." He winked, putting an arm around her. "Let's go now, no more talking about this."
"Where are we going?"
"We'll walk around a bit," he said, taking her hand in his.
Fay walked around with him. "Ren?'
"Yes?"
"How old are you?" she asked a bit embarrassed.
He smiled gently. "I'm 19 and a half." He winked.
Fay thought about something, "how come you don't drive then?'
"I do drive, but I prefer not to. I love to walk, and it keeps me fit. I don't have the time to go to the gym every day." He explained.
That makes sense I guess. Fay followed him until she found herself in front of the metro. "Oh, where are we going?"
"Asakusa."
Oh that's nice! We can visit the temple.
Takeda realized that she didn't say anything. "You don't want to go there?" he asked, doubting his choice.
"Oh, no! No! I want to go there. I'm just surprised. It's an interesting choice," she admitted.
Takeda nodded, and sat down next to her on the train. He casually took her hand again, and held it while his own was placed on his lap. He glanced at Fay who was busy observing the crowd. This girl… he thought.
Fay caught him staring, "what?"
"I'm just wondering how I got so lucky," he answered playfully. "You're the spoiled princess who's dating a weirdo…"
"I sure am no princess, and you're not all that weird." She poked his nose playfully. "You're just straightforward."
Takeda just laughed.
They conversed a bit, and finally reached their destination. Takeda led Fay to the temple where they prayed for a while, then strolled through the market.
Takeda watched Fay as she browsed through the items with excitement. She looked through each stall and explored everything they had. After a couple of hours they were finally finished.
"Where next?" Fay asked, holding his hand.
"You'll see," he said, walking towards the station.
Fay didn't ask him. He is acting sort of mysterious today, she thought. They were on the train for a long time until it stopped and he asked her to get off.
Fay followed him and walked along his side until she realized where they were. Yanaka Reien? Oh…
Takeda was quiet the whole time as he walked along the path. He took a few turns and led Fay to… "This is Takeda Emi, Fay," he said quietly to her.
Fay stood speechless in front of the gravestone. Wow… this I was not expecting. The grave was built simply, and there was a picture of Takeda Emi. Fay looked at the photo and could easily tell that she was Takeda Ren's sister. They shared the same features, and mischievous glint in their eyes. "She's beautiful."
"Yes, she is." He agreed, as he leaned down on his knees and prayed quietly.
Fay leaned down as well, and decided to pray. For some reason, she was feeling anxious. I never thought he would bring me here today. It was totally surprising.
He stayed like that for a good twenty minutes until he finally stood up. He gave Fay a look, and smiled. "I wanted you to meet her." he took her hand, and headed back on the path.
Fay walked silently by his side, until she stopped making him stop in the process. "Thank you." She kissed his cheek.
"You're welcome."
By the time they headed home it was 9PM. They neared Fay's home, and stood by the gate before reaching the pathway that led to the main house. "I had fun, Ren."
Takeda nodded, and lifted her chin lightly. He kissed her lightly on the lips. "Me too."
Fay felt bold and moved closer to him. She pulled his head down and initiated another kiss. This one was a bit longer until they broke it off. "I should go."
"Yes, you should." He agreed. "If you don't then I'm in trouble." He teased, making her blush.
Fay gave him a quick peck on the cheek and ran towards the house. She got in, and looked around for anyone. She found her father in the den with her brother. "Good evening."
Mitsuru looked up. "Good evening, Fay. Had a good day?"
"Yes," she said, taking off her jacket.
Atobe kept silent.
Fay felt a weird vibe in the air. "Is everything okay? You both seem a bit nervous."
They both exchanged a look, and Atobe stood up. "You don't need to know," he said. "I'm heading to my room, father."
Fay frowned. He's still so rude sometimes. Fay decided not to push it. She stood up, and bid her father a good night. I want to sleep. I'm really worn out.
