Hang Out

Later that day...

~Lilly's POV~

"We could leave this world, leave it all behind
We could steal this car if your folks don't mind
We could live forever if you've got the time..."

I sang softly with the speakers from April's laptop. We were both lean up against the huge couch, I figured that the ground was comfortable. I was right... Noticing that throughout the whole song she was staring at me with an odd look, I stuck my tongue out and sang the rest of the lyric, "You motherfucker."

She laughed, "Such vulgar language for such a pretty young girl."

I chuckled, "This is one of my favorite songs. So, I sing it with feeling."

"Oh, you sing it alright. You're really good at that. You can dance and sing! What else can you do? Can you play something?" April asked excitedly.

I shrugged, "Before we moved here, my grandpa taught me a little guitar. But am I talented like I write my own songs? Fuck no!"

"You're still super talented. And for some reason, natural selection chooses the talented people and gets rid of people like me." April hugged her knees to her chest, resting her chin on one of them.

"April, I'm sure your talented. You just haven't found your talent yet. And I don't really like singing. Dancing is more my thing. I'm not MTV material. Nor do I want to be."

I actually got an idea when the next song came on. I quickly took April's hand. "Come on,"

April stood up and followed me. "What are you doing?"

"Okay, you hear the beat in this song?" I asked, grabbing her other hand.

"Lilly..."

"Just follow my feet. Okay? We'll start slow, okay?"

She pulled her hands out, shaking her head. "Oh no no no. I am not dancing. I can't dance. I don't dance."

I grabbed her hands, "You don't have be good or whatever. All you have to do is move." She had a look like I was offering her drugs. It was just dancing! "Here look," I began to move my feet. Just stepping from side to side, the basic steps.

April was off for a moment, but as soon as she caught on, I saw the glimmer of happiness in her eyes. The same one I get when I dance.

"See," I said as I continued to dance. "Okay now, move your hips."

"How do I-"

I began to sway my hips back and forth. "You do that. I'll be the guy."

April bit her lip. She began to sway her hips awkwardly, causing me to chuckle. "Okay if you're going to laugh, I don't want to do this!" She yelled with a smile.

I rolled my eyes, "I get laughed at all the time. You get used to it."

Once she got the move down, I prepared myself for the next part. "Okay this part is a little...well it's a lot. But just move to where I want you to be. Don't move unless I move you there."

April nodded hesitantly, "Just don't hurt me."

I lifted my arm and let go of her other hand, placing it in her hip so I could gently push her underneath it. She went perfectly, "There you go." I spun her around. "You're a natural, April."

April laughed, continuing to sway her hips.

We were dancing to the beat, I was spinning her faster now, rougher. I would pull her close then push her away. Pull her and push her. Pull and push. Occasionally, I would spin her. She was laughing and smiling-it suddenly wasn't so awkward. Her movements were fluent, her tiny body was perfect for this type of dance.

When the song was about to end, I pulled her close, "Get ready."

"For what?" April's eyes widened when I dipped her. "Lilly!" She laughed.

"Ahem."

We both looked only to see Master Splinter smiling softly. "I heard noise. But I can see now everything's alright."

"Wow..."

We looked to the front and saw that the guys were finally back.

Donnie was the first to speak, "April... You...wow..."

April pulled away from me, "I don't know what you're talking about. No one saw anything. Changing the subject."

I threw my arms around April's neck, "You were awesome. My best dancer partner."

She groaned, covering her face with her hand. "Oh god...I hate you."

I kissed her cheek, "I'm gonna grab something to drink!" I stepped down to grab her laptop then headed for the kitchen. I placed the laptop on the counter while I searched through the fridge. "Ugh, smells like something is rotting in here." Since I had nothing better to do I began to search for the disgusting smell. I found all sorts of different pizzas with different toppings. One had some type of fish with what I think was...marshmallows. Another had like jelly beans with pepperoni. Oh god, I almost gagged. "Who the hell makes these types of food?" Who would order it?

I found some orange juice-seemed to be the only normal thing in that fridge. Now all I had to do was search for the glasses. I went through all the cabinets and when I finally found a clean glass, I poured some juice.

The beat coming from the small speakers suddenly began to speak to me again. It began to reach out and grab my waist pushing it from side to side. I was unable to control it, not did I want to. What's funny is that it was a rock song. Normally people would say that there's no way to dancing to this song. Oh yeah...they're so wrong.

After I finished the drink I placed the cup in the sink and the juice back in the fridge. I was now humming to the words, my voice slowly growing louder and louder till I was just singing and dancing on my own.

"Ladies and gentlemen

Truth is now acceptable

Fame is now injectable

Process the progress

This core is critical

Faith is unavailable

Lives become incredible

Now, please understand that,"

My voice was loud enough that someone across the way could hear it, but it did not fill the whole place. I bobbed my head back and forth and laughed to myself. I was truly crazy...

Best part...I didn't care.

I sang until the song was over, I danced until the song was over. I wanted to play the song over again. But when I heard the next song that came on, I suddenly stopped. "I haven't heard this song in so long!"

It was Hold On Till May by Pierce the Veil. It was the song that I used to listen to on repeat when it came out. Whenever I was sad, mad, happy-literally any emotion what so ever- I would listen to it. I don't know why I stopped though. The part that would always get me emotional though was the middle part.

"Darling, you'll be okay..."

I smiled, "Why did I ever stop listening to this?"

I let my head bob back and forth to the slow beat at the end of the song, I felt as though my heart beat was the song beat, the slower it got the more relaxed I was. When it ended I sighed peacefully. I needed that today.

I grabbed the laptop and headed towards the main room. But what I found was Master Splinter jabbing his cane into Leo's foot. I swear to God, I did not want to laugh. But the face he made...I couldn't help but chuckle.

When Master Splinter walked passed me, all he did was nod and carry on his way. It made me think he was mad or something.

I plopped myself on the couch and set the laptop right next to me, lowering the music. April moved from behind Raph to right next to me. I scooted closer to April, "What happened?"

"I'll tell you later..."

Leo, who was still grabbing his foot in pain, finally let it go and walked away with a huff. Raph rolled his eyes and walked after him.

"Is this about...?"

April nodded. "She beat his tail."

"Really?" I gasped. "Talk about a bad break up. What a bitch..."

"Hey Lil'," I turned to see Mikey's smiling face. "Wanna dance battle now?"

I sighed, "Sorry bud, but I don't think it's appropriate. Maybe next time, kay?"

Mikey nodded understandingly, "Sure, that's cool."

Couple hours later...

It was about five o'clock and there was no sign of Leo. I figured that he was either in his room or left and no one saw him leave. I wanted to talk to him but I felt like maybe he needed alone time. When things like betrayal happen, it takes a long time to get back to normal.

I would know...

As of right now, I was waiting for April to get ready so that we could leave. I was hanging out in the kitchen just thinking while sipping on some orange juice.

I was just thinking about school, how I was going to get my grades up before the quarter ends. I was thinking about my mother and her boyfriend. How I was going to avoid both of them for the next couple of weeks. It was pretty easy this week, only when she tried to convince me- if you can call it that- to believe he actually did change. People, in my opinion, don't change. With my experience, even though I'm 15 years old I still have a lot of fucking experience, people always say they do to try to get your walls down. Once you're vulnerable, they pounce once again. Like a fucking puma.

My mind went off to places that weren't even related to what I started think about, which was school. I don't even know what I was staring at but it felt good to just look in that space and let my mind wonder. I never let it do that because then I get frustrated and even though I fail, I still try to maintain a positive façade.

What made me blink out of my almost sleep like state, was the sound of someone clearing their throat. I looked to see Raph leaning over the counter.

"Oh sorry," I shook my head. "Did you say something?"

"No." He said with a smile on his face. "Did you hear me say something?"

"No, but I don't know because when I drift into space like that I just block everything out, so you could've said something." I turned around and set the cup I was using in the sink. "How's Leo?"

Raph sighed, "He's meditating right now. He'll be alright though."

"Betrayal kind of sucks."

Raph shrugged, "I didn't trust her from the start. I'm guessing April told you about her."

"Little details. Important details. What I do know is that she's a little buttwipe for making him feel that way." I crossed my arms over my chest.

Raph chuckled, "She is one. But she's a good fighter. A damn good fighter."

I stared at him with a confused look,
"You fought her?"

"Yeah, she is a ninja." He straightened. "I don't go around hitting girls if that's what you think. I only fight them if they can defend themselves. And she can."

I relaxed, "Well did you at least kick her ass?"

He laughed, "I wanted to but Leo stopped us before we went any further."

I would have kicked her ass, even though she's a ninja and could probably kill me with the flick of her wrist but, I think I would totally sass her ass out. "I'm good with sass not with fists."

"Wanna learn? Master Splinter is an awesome teacher. I could ask..."

"No no, don't even bother. Only thing I'm consistent in is dance." I waved my hands and shook my head. "I'm good."

"Yeah...? Speaking of, you're pretty good at dancing, huh?"

I began to feel my face grow extremely warm, "I guess..."

He chuckled softly, "You shouldn't hide from us. The other guys won't call you out on it because they feel like it's normal not to trust a bunch of mutants who live in the sewers. And I'm not just talking about dance."

I blinked, "I'm sorry...?"

"You hide things. I can see it in your eyes."

"Well can you blame me?"

"No, but if any of those things puts any one of my brothers in danger, it'll be you I'm coming after." I was so fucking confused because he said that with a soft smile.

"Are you threatening me?"

"I consider it a warning, but if the shoe fits..."

I scoffed, "You act like you read people so well off the bat. So you must know that a girl like me can't even skip school without the fear of getting caught."

He shrugged, "I may be wrong. That's fine. But Leo thought he was right."

I looked down at my feet, "Yeah well I've been in Leo's shoes before. And I couldn't do anything to hurt you guys, or April. Especially April. Like it or not you guys are my friends and I take friendship seriously." It's the only thing I have.

Raph nodded, as if he were satisfied, "Okay then. We're cool."

We're cool... Cool? I thought we were already cool! Bro...

I nodded, "Cool... We're...chill."

He chuckled, shaking his head as he walked out of the kitchen.

I walked out with him, checking to see if April is finished packing her laptop. When she was I breathed a sigh of relief when she was putting on her back pack, "You ready?" I asked, shoving my hands in my pockets.

April nodded, "I guess I'm leaving guys."

Donnie immediately stood up, "Are you sure? What if it's not safe? You should stay here until tomorrow or something, I mean we just got back from TCRI..."

April smiled, "It's night, and as long as I stay home, which I will because it's a long weekend, I should be alright." April have Donnie a friendly push. "I'll call you if there is any trouble."

I smiled, "Don't worry Donnie, I'll keep her safe."

Mikey came over and gave me a tight hug, I hugged him back happily. "Be safe dude."

I laughed, "I'm always safe."

After that we both left.

~Raph's POV~

Two Hours Later...

I threw myself on right next to Donnie while he sat with his laptop in his lap, just typing away. "What are you doing?" I asked, peeking at his screen.

Donnie cleared his throat before shifting away from me, "I'm looking up April's school. To see if I could get some blueprints."

I narrowed my eyes in confusion, "Um...okay... Why?"

He scooted away from me, "Are you going to mind all the business you have there?"

I chuckled, "Whatever."

I watched as his fingers quickly ran over the keyboard. I wish I could type that fast, but he never lets me us his laptop. After a while, I got tired of watching him, until he sighed, "Hmmm... Lilly should be in this." That caught my attention once again. I looked and saw a video of the school's dance team. "There she is." I saw about four or five kids laughing and smiling and interacting with each other. Lilly came on late and stayed in the back. I don't know if she was supposed to look alone or awkward or if that was just her being herself.

That all changed when the beat dropped though. It was like how she was earlier today. She just completely shredded this persona of a shy person and became this confident looking girl. Confident looked really good on her. I don't know why she was embarrassed when she found out we knew about her dancing when here she looks completely fine about dancing in front of other people. Maybe she knew them more than she knew us. Maybe they were better friend than us. Maybe she was just comfortable around them. That was completely fine. But still, she should have this confidence with us. maybe one day.

Donnie chuckled, "Hey Mikey! I found a video you might want to watch!" He called.

Mikey came running from his room, he came over to us and looked over Donnie's shoulder. After a while he whined, "Why is she so good?"

"She's really good." I said. I wonder how long she's been in dance. "She should act this way with us. I mean if she acted this way, she'd be really attractive."

Donnie shrugged, "She's already very attractive."

"Well, yeah... If you like the shy, awkward thing. I guess. She's not my type." I sighed, still memorized by her dancing.

Donnie rolled his eyes, "How would you know what your type is? You've only met like three girls in your entire life."

"Do you have a type?"

He scoffed, "Um... Red heads. Duh. And only April for your information."

Like he'll ever get April. "Okay, sure."

He shut the laptop, "What's your type Raph? Enlighten me, please."

Mikey groaned, "Hey! I was watching that!"

"I like blondes. Who doesn't?"

He rolled his eyes, "The only blonde you've ever seen was one on TV and it was either a cartoon version of one, or the news reporter. Real original. I'm sure next thing you're going to say is big butt and breasts huh?"

I shrugged, "Who doesn't like big boobs?"

Donnie rolled his eyes in annoyance. "You act like you're a real ladies man."

I smirked, leaning back with a cocky style, "I can be. I'm sure if we were allowed to walk with everyone else and no one really cared who you were, I'm sure I'd have more girlfriends than you in a week."

Mikey shook his head, "Not cool bro. Girls are people too."

"I never said they weren't Mikey."

"What he mean is that you're being a jerk. Girls have feelings and some fall faster than others. You should respect that."

Mikey nodded, crossing his arms over his chest. "Yeah. Respect the girls."

"Oh yeah, Mikey is the real ladies man. Listen to him."

Donnie shrugged, "He might now be a ladies man. He might not even like girls. But he respects them."

Mikey stopped nodding his head, "Wait... I like girls."

Both of us shifted our bodies to face Mikey, "Oh really?" We both said with a cheeky smile.

"Well yeah... Why wouldn't I?"

Both of us looked at each other, realizing that he did not full understand exactly what we were talking about, we just shook our heads and chuckled.

Wonkie ending I know, but this is it so, let me know if you like it or if you didnt. I take both just go easy! Thanks see you in the next chapter.
