Author's note: Hello reader, welcome to this fic. This was just a idea I had as I was reading the web-novel, so there will be references to events that happen in the web-novel as well as the spin-off series. While Anime and movie only can enjoy the fic, please be warned that there will eventually be spoilers for future events! Also, the prologue and chapter 1 were written together but I decided to split them up.
Prologue
I was in darkness. Strange, I hadn't fallen asleep, had I? I opened my eyes into an unfamiliar place. There was a conspicuously empty chair behind a desk in the middle of the dark room, and an angel was standing quite a distance beside it? The floor was littered with pieces of paper, scattered around in a mess.
"Hmm… I thought that no one would be chosen now that Aqua-sama is not here. I don't have as much control as she does, umm…." I could barely make out what the angel was muttering as sparkles of light emitted from her hands and scattered into the distance.
"Eh, hello? You are an angel right? Where am I?"
"Yes Kato Fujiwara-san, I am an angel under Aqua-sama. Normally she would handle you candidates, but I am afraid your choices under me are more limited." Her explanation was interrupted as more angels appeared.
"Sorry about this but we'll need to discuss what to do with your case." She continued. The group of angels convened together, with some of them popping in and out of the discussion. After what seemed like an eternity, they appeared to have come to a solution.
"You are supposed to have a choice between going to another world to defeat a demon king or going to heaven, but I don't have the authority to send you to heaven. About sending you to the other world, I can't give you a power or magical item like Aqua-sama could. With assistance from others, I could give you an exclusive class based on who you are and suitable equipment." The first angel I met explained. So, my choices were to either wait for this Aqua to come back from whatever she was doing or go to this new world. It seems like a role playing game? But I don't really play RPGs much, preferring shooters so I don't know what to expect. And what does she mean by exclusive class? If it is based on who I am what would I get?
"Erm just to confirm Aqua-sama won't be coming back anytime soon right? So, I can't just wait here till she comes back?" Seeing the angel nod, I continued. No point waiting here, I guess. I affirmed my decision to go to this new world. The group assembled in a circle around me, as a magic circle appeared beneath my feet.
"While Eris-sama cannot be here in person, she has given you her blessing and will guide you in the new world. With the help of angels under Eris-sama, we will send you there. Kato Fujiwara-san, you'll be one of the hero candidates to defeat the Demon King. You'll be granted a wish for anything from the gods if you succeed. May you be victorious among the other candidates and defeat the Demon King. We bid you farewell." A bright light engulfed all I could see…
