Hey guys. I've been a little busy with school. It just started and I'm a senior now! Wow... Time has flown by. Recently, I've been dealing with my emotions again and I literally shut down and don't do anything when I'm in that mood. So this chapter is the result of that mood. Very short. But in order to make up for that, I'm posting another chapter immediately after this. So you guys don't have to wait and you get more to read. Thanks for sticking with me throughout though! I really appreciate everyone of you.

DisasteroftheDivine- I'm super happy that I can make you laugh!

Another Failed Attempt

Three hours later...

~Raph's POV~

Three hours! What the hell are they going to talk about for three whole hours? Of course now they're all out of that room and just hanging out watching television with us. But I still want to know what the hell they were talking about! Since I couldn't just listen in... Or I could have...

Damn it! I should've done it again.

I cleared my throat, if I couldn't find out about what they were talking about, I'm going to bug her for what she actually said. "So Lilly..."

She blinked in my direction. Her head suddenly darted to her left, she jumped and gasped before placing a hand over her heart. "Oh my god! I thought it was a really big spider." She twisted her whole body around. "Hey little guy," she giggled.

Everyone stared at me as I just watched her reaction to Spike. Normally, I wouldn't ever let a stranger touch Spike; I barely let my brothers because it makes me nervous. But for some reason, I kind of just chuckled when he walked right up to her. But when she went to go pick him up, I stood when suddenly that nervousness came over me.

"What's your name?" She asked with this really high pitched voice.

I took Spike away from her, "Spike." I muttered.

She stared up at me, "Oh..."

I placed Spike on my shoulder where he happily stayed and walked back to where I was sitting. "Anyways," she was staring at me like she did the first time she saw me, only this time she had a hint of 'I fucking hate you' in her eyes. "You think we're all cute?"

She jerked her head back in shock and blinked, "I'm sorry?"

April went over to her side, "You guys are a bunch of eavesdroppers."

Lilly smiled, "Oh! That's what you're talking about." She laughed almost sarcastically. "Okay guys, how much did you hear?"

"Starting at 'we're cute' and ending at 'bun in the oven'." Donnie jumped in.

Lilly sighed, "Oh geez..."

"Well..." I said, smirking in the cockiest way even. I knew it pissed her off when I acted that way.

Lilly rolled her eyes, "Don't get cocky now. It was a compliment. I get complimented all the time and I don't care."

I suddenly bursted out laughing, stopping when I noticed I was the only one that actually found that funny. "What?"

She glared at me, "I do. And you should be lucky I even gave you a compliment... Not that you need it."

"Because I already know I'm good looking?"

"No." She spat. "Because you're the cockiest person on earth. Lord knows I don't want to feed that fat ego of yours."

"It's true." April said. "She gets a lot of compliments. It kind of ticks me off."

Lilly placed a hand on her thigh, "April, so protective."

I moved around when I began to feel uncomfortable, "So do you?"

Lilly sighed heavily, "You're like a dog with a bone." She scoffed. "Yes, you guys are cute. You... I'm starting to take a second look at you."

"I'm the cutest." Mikey said with a flutter of his eyes.

Lilly laughed, "Always Mikey."

"So, I am cute, right?" Donnie asked.

She nodded, "Yes, you are the cutest and the sweetest."

"And me?" Leo asked with this annoying eagerness.

Lilly smiled sweetly, "Yes Leo. You're a very cute leader."

I opened my mouth to ask if I was, which I already knew I was a good looking turtle, but she held up her finger.

"Don't even ask. You're not going to like my answer." She bit out.

I scoffed, anger slowly rising up in me the more everyone else chuckled. "You wouldn't like my answer either if I told you."

"Oh Raph," she laughed. "I've been called ugly my whole life. By my mom, my friends, and by people that hate me. Do you think, if you say it in front of everyone, it'll make me feel bad?"

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever..." Bitch...

Donnie cleared his throat to break this tension in the air, "Um... Anyways... Lilly, what's up with your mom?"

She rolled her eyes, "She may or may not be pregnant."

"And the thing with your mother's boyfriend?" Leo asked hesitantly.

Lilly sat back, basically melting into the sofa. She let out a heavy sigh, "Yeah... He's the father."

April cleared her throat, elbowing her. "Lillian..."

Lilly rubbed her arm, "Ow... Fine. He slapped me. Okay? Can we not make such a big deal about it?"

"Lillian, it is a big deal. I don't care who they are, no one can just go on slapping you without remorse. It's sadistic." April growled.

"April's right. Something has to be done about him." Leo said.

I'd gladly volunteer to kick his ass, but if I say something now, I'll regret it later. Lilly pissed me off. At this point I'd offer to... Never mind. I shook my head from the thought.

"What do you mean something? Like killing him?" She asked, eyeing Leo suspiciously.

He shook his head and chuckled, "No. Not that severe. But he should apologize. What did your mom say?"

Lilly shrugged, "Well, she cried and apologized. Then got distracted when John asked who the father was..."

I winced, "What an idiot..."

"Tell me about it." Lilly scoffed. I honestly thought I said that in my head. "Both of them drive me insane. I get he slapped me, but honestly... I don't really care. I realized now that him doing that still isn't enough for my mom to leave him. What's the point in crying about it? It won't make anything better."

"You could press charges." Donnie suggested.

"I would if I wanted my mother to disown me. Seriously, she's all over that guy. Even her sister hates him." Lilly sighed, touching her bruised cheek softly. "He's dangerous."

It got silent after that. I would have offered to hurt him. I don't know what held me back though, maybe because when I'm taking out a scumbag, they're not involved with my friends. Then again I only have two... But still.

Lilly suddenly stood, "Well, I should go. My mom wasn't there this morning so I have to go check to see if she's home and safe."

April grabbed her hand, "Now?"

Lilly stretched, "Yeah. I also have to go shopping for food." She rubbed her stomach. "I haven't eaten anything since last night."

Mikey stood, "We have food here if you're hungry..."

"Yeah, Mikey... I don't think two week old pizza is what she wants to eat." I huffed, rolling my eyes. and I honestly doubt she'll eat the kind of pizza he eats.

"It's not two weeks..." He pouted. "It's a week and a half." He muttered to himself.

Lilly chuckled softly, "I'm good Mikey. Thanks." She turned to April, "I'll call you?" April nodded sadly. "And I'll get the stuff you need. Don't worry..." She said softly.

April blushed and looked at her feet. "Lilly..."

Mikey snapped his fingers, "You mean the-"

"Mikey!" April and Lilly yelled, stopping him from continuing.

I knew they were talking about something for those three hours! I want to know what! Looks like I'm going to have to torture Mikey later. Again...

"Anyways, I'll see you guys later." Lilly said with a sigh. "I gotta go check to see if my moms home. She wasn't this morning."

Donnie stood, "Ice that cheek."

She nodded, "Alright. Wait, you heard that too?" She growled, "I ought to slap everyone of you." She glared at me. "Especially you."

"What did I do?" I shouted in protest.

"I don't know why. But I have a feeling that you were the cause of this." She then turned and headed for the exit. "Seeya guys." Soon after that she was gone.

"Why is she so defensive?"

"That's how she's always been, Raph. She's always been hurt in some type of way so now that it happens she doesn't feel a thing." April shuddered in anger, "It shouldn't be like that."

"But if someone's hurting her, she should tell someone. Like the police. Why doesn't she do that?" Leo asked.

April sighed, "I would. But she says she'd rather have a place to stay then have her mother kick her out just because she called the cops on her boyfriend."

"That's crazy..." Leo chuckled. "How can a parent pick their partner over their own kid!?"

April shrugged cluelessly. "I can't tell you how many times I asked Lilly that."

"What'd she say?" I asked.

"She never answers. Sometimes she says 'I don't know' other times she just shrugs and stays quiet."

She's annoying, I won't deny that. But she is one hell of a fighter. That's for sure.

You gotta admire a fighter.

~Lilly's POV~

I entered the house and immediately felt this weird tension. Something must have happened when I was gone; it was a very bad feeling deep in my stomach.

I saw John watching TV just laughing away as if he was happy, while my mother was picking up shards of glass from the floor. Both turned to look at me when I shut the door, but before anyone could say anything, I decided to help my mother.

She smiled, then quickly frowned.

What happened?

John went back to watch TV, not laughing loudly anymore, just a chuckle once in a while.

"What broke?" I asked instead of asking what happened. I know better than to ask that in front of John.

"I bumped into a jar. It fell." My mom lied. I could tell she was lying by her short sentences.

I huffed, "Hmm..." I really was dying to ask what happened. So I grabbed her hand and led her to my room. "I need help with something."

"What?" She asked softly.

I shut the door behind me when we finally got into the room. "What happened?"

My mother rubbed her arm, her head hung almost in shame. "He took me to a clinic."

My eyes widened, "No..."

"Don't worry... I'm not pregnant. I'm just late." She walked over to my bed, sitting on the edge.

I let out a sigh of relief. I'm glad that she's not pregnant. We can't even think about another child when we can't feed ourselves. "That's... That's great." I chuckled.

"Yeah..." She said almost as if she were sad.

"Well, why were you guys fighting?"

"I just..." She began. "I don't know. I just thought I... Last time I had a baby it was amazing." She looked up at me, tears falling from her eyes. "It was the best thing in the world. To see this little creature in your arms and know that it has two parents that will always love it... It's the most beautiful thing in the world." She hugged herself. "I want to feel needed. To feel loved. And I don't..."

"Mom," I sighed, rubbing my temples. "I love you. I need you. You have to think about others' needs before your needs. If you bring a baby into this life, how is he going to eat? We have no money to buy even canned food. We have to wait till John's unemployment check comes in the mail, then we buy a little bit of food. We can't even feed ourselves, how are we going to feed an infant. A child. A baby."

My mom shook her head. "You don't understand." She cried. "The feeling of being a mother is so amazing. I just... It's something I don't want to experience once. I want a family. I'm still young enough!" She wiped her tears. "So when I told John, he got mad. He said that he hates children, he doesn't want one from anyone. Even me..."

"Then leave him." I pushed. "You want a family? Leave him. Start over. Get a job, make money, save it, then meet a good guy. Talk, marry, then have another baby." I kneeled in front of her. "Mom, you want a family? This guy is not going to give you one. Leave him."

My mother stared at me for a second, as of knowing I was right but yet still finding a way to tell me I was wrong. "Lillian... I'm just..." She wiped her face. "I just... Don't want to die alone."

I stayed silent. What was I going to say? That I was going to die with her? As fucked up as it may be, I still love life. I heard about death and I prefer not to do it. But I also didn't know what to say... Like, it seems like she's convinced herself that I don't need her anymore and if John leaves, she'll be alone. That's not true. I'll still be here. I'll always be here. She's my fucking mother. I love her to death.

She's the only thing I have.

She stood, " I have to go clean up the mess I left." She wiped her tears away.

"Mom..." I began, but she continued to walk. "I'll always need you in my life."

She sighed, "I know."

"So if you know, why are you scared of being alone? You don't need a guy. You have a daughter. I should be your first priority."

My mother opened the door, "Lillian. I love you more than John."

"Really?" I asked. "You honestly think that if I thought you love John more than me that I would be so distant with you? When you say something mom, you show it. If you love me you do what's best for me. But you'd stay with a druggie wife beater only because you're scared. Think about that."

My mom scoffed before walking out the door.

I groaned in frustration, "Unbelievable."

It's pointless. She's in too deep. She's never leaving him. And what's even scarier...

He may never want to leave.

Like I said, I should have the other chapter in in just a matter of minutes. Maybe an hour or so... But I will have it in extremely soon, I mean it's already done. And just a heads up, I may stop posting for a while to focus on school work and my mental state. I mean, I won't stop completely but I won't post every month. Just whenever I can. Hope you guys can understand! Bye! See ya very soon.
