~Lilly's POV~
I woke up to the sound of a chain saw right in my ear. I blinked my eyes awake, pushing myself up when I noticed I was still in the lair. I must have fell asleep during the movie. Which one was it again? The first or the third? I think it was the fourth... What was even the movie?
I rub the sleep out of my eye and stretch my muscles. Raph was the one who's head was right next to mine... Jesus, he fucking snores. I looked around and saw Mikey asleep on the floor, Leo leaning against the sofa and April leaning against Donnie. Everyone was fast asleep. Last night was pretty fun. But sadly sooner or later I had to get up, and go home.
What time was it? I patted my back pocket to get my cell out... "Shit..." I still don't have it. It's at my school in my back pack.
I wonder if I could use someone else's...
I saw Raph's cell right by his arm, must have fallen out of where he tucked it away. So...I grabbed it, making sure I didn't touch him or do anything that involves me almost waking him up. I checked the time...
7:30!? Why the fuck did I wake up this early in the morning?
I put his phone back and yawned. I should go back to sleep... I wiped my eyes and laid back down, right next to Raphael's head. I shouldn't...he's way too loud. I was just about to move away from him when his eyes shot open. I jumped a bit, "Oh... Morning, sleepy head." I chuckled.
He sat straight up, "What are you doing?" He asked a little to loud.
I shushed him, "Don't be so loud. You'll wake them. It's too early to do anything."
"An earthquake wouldn't wake them. Especially after yesterday." He mumbled, wiping his eyes.
"I wasn't watching you sleep. I was going to go back to sleep but away from you. Jesus, you snore." I chuckled, pushing his arm playfully.
He smiled softly stretching his arms over his head. "Why are you awake?" He grabbed his phone and checked the time. "Way too early..."
"I just woke up. But I'm still tired." I shifted myself and got comfortable, groaning when I got really comfortable.
Raph chuckled, giving my head a tap. "I'm gonna lay down in my bed." He gave his neck a crack and hissed. "I'm all sore from this couch."
I winced at the sound of his bones cracking, "Gross, don't do that. You'll grow up with arthritis."
"That's just a myth." He got up and bent over to touch his toes.
Hmm... He stretches more than me. And I'm a dancer... Lord. "Can I come?" I asked already half asleep.
Raph's head shot towards me, "What? Why?" He stood up and yawned.
"A nice bed. I'm not going to wake up until like 1 in the afternoon." I shivered when I felt a breeze creep up my pant leg. "It's chilly here."
"You can sleep in the extra bedroom. But you're not sleeping in my bedroom." He began to walk away.
Before I could do anything or even answer him, I was already asleep. This couch is actually comfortable... If you don't have a shell on your back I guess. It was nice and quiet- perfect environment to nap...
I have no idea how long I was out, but my eyes fluttered open to Mikey's smiling face. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. It looks like everyone was waking up at the same time as I did. April was stretching, almost hitting a half awake Donatello then quickly apologizing. Leo yawned as he came back from the kitchen with a plate of pizza in his hand.
"Morning Mikey..." I chuckled softly, stretching my muscles again.
"You're like an angel when you sleep." He sighed peacefully. He suddenly jumped up, "Want breakfast!? I can make you something!" Before I could answer, he already walked off into the kitchen.
"What time is it?" I yawned.
"It's almost 3." Leo said, taking a bite of his pizza. "Who's waking up Raph?"
"Not me." Donnie said immediately.
"Not me!" Mikey yelled from the kitchen.
I chuckled softly, "Is he that bad?"
Leo laughed, "He does not like to be woken up. Especially after such a tiring thing like saving the world?" He said cockily.
I shook my head, "I'll do it."
April immediately shook her head, "We will not send in the rookie. It's too dangerous."
I stood up slowly, my whole body beginning to wake up. "Have you ever woken up my mother after a fight with John? Lord... I've been through it all." I began to walk towards the hall of rooms. "Which ones Raph's?"
Everyone was silent for a moment, then Leo's voice came in, "To your right. First room. Good luck."
"And God speed." Donnie said.
I rolled my eyes before walking in his room. It was dark, like almost pitch black if it wasn't for the open door that let in all the light. He was passed out on his bed, snoring away. Why are they so scared of him? Raph won't do shit to me and if he does... It'll go down. I wish a bitch would.
I tip-toed over to Raph and just watched him. I know, this is very weird but I wasn't watching to be weird or pervy, I was wondering how I was going to wake him. As much as I wanted to just bang on these drums he had in his room... Damn, he's more punk than I am. Maybe I'll just whisper.
I touched his arm and gave him a small shake. "Raph..." What if he stabs me? I can't dodge for shit! "Raphie..." Man, I wonder if I should just throw something at him from afar.
I give him another shake, a little harder this time. "Raphael..." This time he groaned and turned away from me. Almost there... "Your brothers sent me in here to wake you up because you scare them." But you don't scare me.
"Go away..." He groaned, pulling the pillow over his head. "Annoying..."
I rolled my eyes, "They're the ones wanting you awake. It's like 3 in the afternoon. It's time to get up."
Raph groaned, taking his pillow and throwing it at me. "Shut up!" I caught it and slapped his head with it. He didn't even move.
"I just remembered something..." I said as soon as an idea popped into my head. "I forgot to give you the kiss I owe you." For some reason I feel like Raph doesn't like affection. Especially when it comes from a girl...or me. So I'll just kiss him a little.
I saw his body stiffen, then suddenly he groaned. "Stop..."
"You seemed to want my kisses last night. I just didn't give you one." I touched his arm and felt his muscle tense. I smiled, once again feeling a victory coming on. I leaned down and pressed my lips up against his bicep. His skin wasn't like leather. It felt like skin but bumpier- do turtles have scales? They felt like scales but smaller. And softer.
He groaned and popped himself up, "What are you doing? Get out of here!" He yelped, with a hint of blush in his cheeks.
I blinked when I saw his naked face. I guess he doesn't sleep with a mask on. I giggled, "Awe look it your face! You have no mask! You're so cute." I threw my arms around his neck and pulled his head into my chest. "You're adorable!" I laughed.
"Lilly!" He whined trying to get me off but I wouldn't budge. "Lillian..."
"Don't fight it. I'm not letting go." I said, caressing his bald head.
He grunted, "I'm right in between your boobs." He muttered.
"Don't be a perv. You're ruining the moment."
"I'm not trying to. I just can't breathe."
"Don't be dramatic."
"I seriously can't breathe."
"Then hold your breath."
"Lillian..."
"And your brothers said I wouldn't be able to wake you without you biting my head off. Now look it!" I laughed.
"If Leo walks in-"
"I'll laugh in his face. His brother likes me more. Ha! That's funny. You do like me more right?" I asked. I knew he didn't. Leo is his brother. But I'm too happy to care.
"If I say yes will you let go?"
"No."
"Oh my god..." He groaned. "Can you please let go of me?"
"Twenty more seconds." I giggled, placing a kiss on his head.
He groaned loudly, "This is torture..."
"Oh shut up. You know you love me."
I sighed when I got to my front door. It was open just like it was when I left it. Meaning my mom wasn't home... I felt a terrifying feeling when I climbed up the steps. With every step I took I felt my stomach tighten in the most horrible way. No parents... What do I do now? Where do I go? Will I have to move once again, say goodbye to all of my friends again? All these thoughts and within an instant my mind was overflowing with grief.
I entered the empty house and looked around. It's been open for more than a day in Manhattan yet everything was still in its place. I couldn't close the door since the door knob was blown off, but I still attempted to shut it. I took a breath to calm my emotions before they began to overflow, out of control.
"Lil'?" I heard Donnie call from my room. "You...okay?"
"Coast is clear. You guys can come out. My mom is still not here..." My voice wavered for a moment, I felt my lip tremble.
I felt a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry. I'm sure they're fine." April whispered softly. "Here..." She placed her hand on my lower back and opened her other arm and pulled me into a hug, letting my head rest on her shoulder. She hugged me tight, I was lucky at this moment to have someone to hold me while I, myself, held back tears. I've cried in front of Raph. But I refused to do that again and this time in front of everyone. "They're okay." She whispered.
"I know..." I said pulling away from her embrace. "I just wished I...actually knew."
Donnie sighed, "Let's see what's on the news. Maybe something that'll help us." He went over to my tv which in surprise is still there given the fact that my front door has been open for almost two days, and turned it on. "New York invasion is the only thing that's on in every news- oh here! Channel 6. Local..."
I rolled my eyes, "I hate that guy. He's so into his looks I swear it's like out of a bad comedy." I said bitterly as I sat on the couch.
Mikey and Raph sat down next to me while everyone else stood. We all watched and listened in suspense. Who died? Who was missing? How many injured? How much damage? What is going to happen now? The screen cut to the blonde reporter who was out on the street with the same ridiculous hair.
"Jesus, Armageddon happens and their hair is still stupid." Raph chuckled.
"Thanks Brian. So far, the damage will take months, if not years to repair. Not just the physical damage, but the memories as well. Citizens are coming together to help the ones who's houses have been condemned after suffering sizable amount of damage. I'm here on the street where blankets, water and even food are being provided for the people who need it. Sir, can you tell me how you are feeling?" She turned to a man who was wrapped in a blanket holding his head in his hands.
He looked up when she approached him, "I'm tired..." He said softly.
"Did you see the aliens up close?" She then asked.
He scoffed, "Yeah, I saw them."
"Donnie change the channel. I want numbers not interviews." I said crossing my arms. He quickly changed the channel.
"- There are about hundreds injured and even more missing. At this moment a crowd is forming at the NYPD station where pictures of missing loved ones are being posted up in hopes that maybe..."
Maybe my mom is at the station. Looking for me? No... Probably looking for John... I'm in the back of her mind.
I'd look for her...
"Patients who's injuries are critical are surprisingly low but none are life threatening. So far there have been no reports of casualties but..."
"Oh thank god..." April suddenly said with a relieved sigh. I hope she doesn't feel like she's the reason all of this happen. That kind of weight is overpowering for a 16 year old.
Immediately Donnie went to her side and gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder. April grabbed his arm and smiled. Cute...
I leaned back against Mikey, who wrapped an arm around me. I needed comfort. I felt alone at that moment. "I wonder what's going to happen next."
"Well," Leo started. "The city is going to be paranoid for the next couple months. I'm almost positive there's going to be a curfew and police- maybe even state troops are going to be called. Or even the national guard."
I nodded, "I got stopped by one of the paramedic who told me shit is going to get strict. I'm pretty sure everyone will be fine with that."
"You got stopped?" Mikey asked.
"They pulled me out of here. After everything blew over. There was a line of ambulances and police cars just outside of here yesterday helping everyone. One of the fire fighters picked me up and asked me a whole bunch of questions. They even stabbed my arm!" I said, raising my arm in the air.
"They took your blood?" Raphael asked.
"No they gave me fluids to hydrate me or whatever." I sighed. "He told me the hospital was full. He thought I was 13."
"You do look like a baby." Mikey joked, pinching my cheeks.
I slapped his hands away, "Get away..."
Leo smiled, "You keep to yourself..."
"What?" I asked not really understanding what he meant by that.
"Nothing," he chuckled. "You good staying here by yourself for a while? If your mom doesn't return, come back to our place."
I nodded, "I'll be fine. And if she's not here by nightfall then I'll come over with some stuff. Movies and food..."
Mikey hugged me, "You read our minds. That sounds like fun!"
I said my goodbyes to everyone, including April who insisted on staying, but I knew she had to get back to grab her stuff and finally return to her house. Raph was the last to say goodbye to me. "You sure about staying here alone?"
I blinked, "Well... My, oh my... Is big ol' tough Raph worried about me?"
He rolled his eyes, "God, you're a pain."
"I'll be fine." I snorted, giving him a fun shove. "Like I said, if I'm there at your place it's because no ones here."
"Alright... And no I'm not worried."
"You so are."
"Are not."
"Are too. Don't play this game, I will go on till morning."
Raph patted my shoulder, "I'll see you later, pain."
Before he turned my hand reached out for his shoulder and pulled him a little closer. My cheeks were warm but I ignored all embarrassing sensations just to plant a soft, kind kiss on his cheek. Unlike his bicep, his cheek actually was soft-like that of human skin. Easy on the lips. "Thank you."
Raph gulped, staring at me with his wide green eyes in utter disbelief. "For wh-why? I mean... For what?"
"That wasn't just for the dance. It was for caring." I smiled sweetly.
He touched where my lips were, "Caring? We all do..."
"You especially. Thank you. And thanks for saving the world."
He smiled a cocky smile, "That I can do anytime."
I shook my head, playfully pushing his elbow, "Bye you big dork." I chuckled, watching him go into my bedroom and leave shortly after. "What a big dork..." I sighed.
~ Couple Hours later... ~
"When I heard no one died, I thought you were either injured badly or missing." Ian said breathlessly, his hands still on his face. "Thank god you guys are safe."
"Well, I had some friends who let me stay at their place. And their place is...different so I knew I was safe there." I explained. Ian called shortly after I turned on my computer to check and see if he called. Not only is the news of the invasion national, it's all over the world. Ian said he tried calling at least 50 times as soon as he heard the news. But everything was down. For a while at least. According to the news a quarter of the city has no power still. "Are you crying?"
"No!" Ian whimpered. "I'm just so happy you're okay..."
"Ian..." I chuckled.
He wiped his eyes, "I may be a man but I'm not afraid of my feelings." He cried. "You're my world. I thought I lost you!"
I laughed, "Ian! Awe... No, you didn't lose me. I'm still here. Waiting for you to come back because I don't want to lose you."
"You won't. I'm coming home soon. Expect me to come and pick you up and never let go." He wiped his eyes, the camera freezing a bit. "Where's your mom?"
"Wait a sec, your camera froze." I said, my camera is fine, but his internet connection I bet it's not the best.
"Is it good now?"
"No."
"How about now?"
"No."
He cursed, "Damnit it. Hold up..."
I sighed, pushing my laptop off of my lap and onto the edge of my bed in hopes the connection would get better. Maybe it was me. I looked up when I heard voices, loud worried voices. It wasn't coming from my living room it was coming from outside of it. Maybe it's squatters- trying to come spend the night here. "Ian, I think someone is here." I whispered.
"What?"
"Someone-" the door suddenly opened and I heard two voices. My heart began to bang against my chest.
"This isn't happening! My poor baby out on the streets! This can't be happening."
"Aniya, calm down... Getting hysterical doesn't help anything."
"She wasn't here Christine! Where could she be?" The voices suddenly boomed, throughout my home. "I'm surprised nothing was stolen..."
I got up from my bed and gasped, "Mommy!" I yelled upon seeing my mother and Christine coming through the broken door. Tears immediately ran down my face as I ran to her, wrapping my arms around her small waist. I clung to her for dear life. I felt as though I was finally whole.
"Lillian! My baby..." She said, crying into my hair. "I was so worried." Her arms held me tighter than ever before. She began to laugh and cry at the same time. "My baby..."
"Mom..." I cried into her soft belly. "I saw them take you away... I saw them and I thought you were gone." I sobbed.
She rubbed my hair, running her fingers through the strands. "I'm here. I thought you were gone." She pulled away, cupping my cheeks and wiping away the tears that fell. "Where did you go? Did those things take you? Did anyone touch you?"
"I went to where April was. I stayed there for a while then came back here. It was empty and the door was broken and so I just went to sleep and waited for something to happen. Next thing I know a fire fighter grabs me..." I let go of my mom and went to Christine. "I'm so happy you're okay." I said, wrapping my arms around her neck.
"I'm happy to see you too kid. Your mom was so worried." She chuckled, kissing my cheek. "We were all worried so much we could barely sleep. Or eat..." She kissed me again.
"I'm happy you're all okay." I said, going back to hug my mother. "I thought I lost you mom..." She hugged me again. "I thought I was alone..." I felt her body tense. My mother knew what alone felt like better than anyone else. I knew she felt the same way.
"No. You'll never lose me. Never." She hushed, holding me as I cried. "Especially now... I'm not going anywhere my little rag doll..." My hands clutched onto her shirt as my whole body trembled in happiness. I felt myself believing every word. I felt myself hoping. Maybe things will finally start going my way.
