Blessed News

In the following months, Beleg was removed from his station as a scout and forbidden from leaving the forest or coming near me. Several of the elves who had once looked upon me with disgust even told me they thought he was out of line. Haldir and I lived peacefully, and then one night I woke up. I felt a tiny flutter in my stomach.

"Merida?"

Haldir looked up at me. I did not meet his gaze and I frowned a bit.

"Merida?"

He sat up and put his arm around my shoulders. He gently turned my face to his. I saw the worry in his eyes.

"Are you alright meleth nin?"

"I….I am not sure."

He was even more worried now.

"Shall I bring you to a healer?"

"No, no. I am not ill but…..I cannot explain it. I feel different."

He seemed confused and curious.

"Different?"

I nodded but I did not know how to explain it.

"It was probably nothing."

I lay down and Haldir did as well. Though I could still feel his eyes on me. It was not a bad feeling I had, on the contrary I felt warm and happy. A smile came to my face and I closed my eyes.

When I woke up the next morning it was to Haldir kissing my neck. I smiled and turned to face him. I looked at my handsome husband and kissed his lips. As my breasts rubbed against his chest I moaned loudly. Haldir sat up and looked into my eyes. He brushed his thumb over my nipple and I closed my eyes. He lifted my nightgown off me and kissed over the tops of my breasts. He ran his hands down my sides and I sighed.

"~I do not have to be at the training grounds until midday.~" He whispered.

I smiled and pushed him backwards. He raised his brows and smiled.

"~This is different.~" he said.

I frowned.

"~Do you not like this?~"

He chuckled.

"~I am interested to see what you will do.~"

I smiled eagerly and leaned down. As I rubbed against his chest I noticed how sensitive my nipples felt. I ignored it and started to rub against him.

Haldir's POV

She came sooner than usual, but I did not complain. I made love to her and she came several more times before I did. She was breathing hard, completely spent.

"~That was….~"

"~Wonderful? Amazing? Pleasurable?~"

I smiled.

"~All of them at once.~" I said.

She smiled and kissed me again. I laid beside her, the sun pouring into the room. She looked so beautiful in the light. I ran my hands over her breast and a look of discomfort came to her face.

"~Are you well?~"

"~I just feel a bit…..tender there. I know not why though.~" she told me.

I was a little concerned but I let it go. I sat up and got dressed. Merida was still in bed when I looked back.

"~You are not coming to the training grounds with me? Beleg will not be there if that is what concerns you.~" I said.

She smiled and opened her eyes. She held her hand out to me.

"~Help me up love.~"

I smiled and took her hand. I pulled her up and out of the bed. I pulled her to me and stroked her cheek.

"I will wait for you." I said.

She nodded and I waited out in the front room. She came out and we went down to the training fields. Merida had been helping me train the new recruits since Verya time with her new husband. And I enjoyed watching my wife outmatch the male and female scouts. This made them want to do better. As the weeks past, I grew more and more worried about her. She was acting differently. She would constantly wake up at night sick, but she said she did not feel sick. Then she woke one night with her hand on her stomach.

"Merida!?"

A smile came to her face.

"Haldir…..I think…."

She stopped and took my hand.

"What is it?"

"I think I may be carrying our first child." she said.

My eyes went wide and I looked to her belly. I slowly put my hand over her belly.

"Your father might kill me, but I am too happy to care!" I said.

She smiled and laughed before hugging and kissing me. I was going to be a father! I do not remember having been so happy.

"How do you know?"

"I felt something. You remember about a month ago I woke up?" I nodded. "I felt a tiny flutter inside me. And now I know I felt something move. And I was talking with Silivrenniel, she said when she was carrying Eruraina, she craved certain things. Meat, food…and sex."

I smiled a bit.

"Now I know why Orophin was always distracted. Is it safe to presume that you will be needy for the next 7 months?" I asked.

She raised her brow and kissed me passionately. When she pulled back I looked into her eyes.

"Does that answer you?" she asked.

I felt very aroused and she smirked.

"Does that answer you?"

We were all over each other in seconds. I had never heard her moan so much. I knew the next several months were going to be very interesting.
