This is my first story, and it's about Ethan, Fenisha and Will in their current storyline. It probably will be just 'missing' scenes and won't go too far from the actual show, but when I start writing, who knows where it will go! I will try to update as much as possible (I know how annoying it is when you're reading a story and it gets abandoned half way through!) In an ideal world this would be updated every 2-3 days... but I really cannot say!

Disclaimer: I do not own Casualty and am making no money from this story.

May (ish) 2020

The sun hadn't even risen before she felt the first signs of nausea. Laying in bed, she closed her eyes and willed for it to go away. She tried to distract herself- turning her thoughts to other things- but each time they turned to one person: Will.

By this time, she had convinced herself that it was the right thing to break up- he didn't want to be with her if she kept the baby. So why did she keep on thinking about him?

The sun was starting to rise again when she woke at 5am- and the birds in the trees were adamant that this time, sleep would not find her again. Yawning, she climbed out of bed, trying to push away memories of her and Will in the same bed a month before. This time, the sickening feeling had come back, hitting her more strongly than ever before.

She walked into the small bathroom, and collapsed against the wall. Tears started to make their way down her face- she never cried a lot, but there was no one here to see her. How she wished time could go back. If she could have one wish, it would be to go back in time and never sleep with Ethan. He was a good guy, but nothing could chan the fact it was a mistake. Or maybe she would wish to make this baby Will's. What she could do with a couple of wishes.

Her shift started at 9am. She arrived early, but Lev wasn't there yet, so she hung back in the locker room, still not having talked to Jan since their argument. Jan seemed to be on night shifts whenever she was on the day ones- whether that was Jan's doing or pure coincidence, she didn't know- but she was glad of it. She wasn't sure how much more awkwardness she could take.

Their first call out of the day was to an old man who had fallen down his stairs- his carer who came in each morning had called it in. He had no children, no wife- he was all alone. Both Lev and Fenisha knew him as a frequent flyer- they felt sorry for him and often they came just to keep him company- but this time it was more serious.

At the ED, Lev was talking to Faith after their handover, as they were both on the same shifts. Fenisha left to check on the ambulance- mainly because she'd seen Ethan coming around the corner and right now was not the time to speak to him.

As she was leaving, Ethan caught sight of her and started towards her. Pretending she hadn't seen him, Fenisha started walking faster- but unfortunately for her, Ethan was determined to talk to her.

"Fenisha!"

She heard her name being called. Sighing, she turned around, knowing there was no way of getting out of this one.

"What do you want Ethan?"

She stopped outside the ambulance and turned to face him.

"Just wondered how you are..."

She sighed again.

"Ethan you have to stop checking up on me every few seconds! How many times do I have to tell you? I'm fine, just leave me alone!"

Shocked by her sudden outburst, Ethan spoke more softly this time.

"Are you ok though? You're looking very pale..."

"I'm fine." She said, before a wave of dizziness and nausea came over her, prompting her to grab the door of the RV for support.

Ethan grabbed her arm to support her before she collapsed completely, not surprised, but a little hurt, when he was pushed away.

"Please, let me take you inside..."

She shook her head adamantly.

"Ethan, please, just leave me alone," she whispered.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were still"

'Control to 3006, we have a Cat 2 RTC on the motorway, 3 cars involved, suspected 4-5 casualties.' Came the familiar, slightly crackly voice over the radio.

"All received and mobile, over." Fenisha replied.

"We'll talk later," she told him, turning away and climbing into the front passenger seat as Lev came out of the ED and got into the driver's seat.

Within seconds they were gone, leaving Ethan standing outside in the afternoon sun, with guilt and worry and confusion beginning to bubble up inside him.
