Jan was walking into the locker room, preparing for a long night shift, when she saw her. Tears were running down her face- silently now, and more slowly, but she guessed by her red eyes that she had been crying for a while now.

Jan approached her slowly- she had no idea what had caused her to cry like this, but she knew that the young paramedic had gone through a breakup with her ex boyfriend Will Noble. However, she doubted it was that alone, as she had never seen her cry before- and certainly didn't think she was the sort of person who was particularly tearful.

Her knees were brought up to her face- and her arms were around them. Slowly, Jan crouched down next to her.

"What are you doing down there love?"

She asked cautiously.

Jan received no answer, and Fenisha just shook her head.

"Come on, let's get you up,"

Still, she made no effort of speaking- she seemed to be lost in her thoughts and in a different world.

Carefully, Jan helped her up. She wondered how she had come to be like this, and despite how she was still angry at Fenisha, she realised that there were definitely two sides to every story.

When the tears weren't falling as fast, Jan led her to her office- she doubted Fenisha would want anyone to see her like this. Once the younger paramedic was sitting in a chair, Jan tried again.

"Are you going to tell me what happened?" She asked gently.

Fenisha shrugged. "Don't know. It's my fault." She whispered, tears starting to fall again. "It's all too much... I'm sorry."

Jan, who had no idea what she was on about, asked her "What's your fault?"

"I'm sorry," she said again. "I'm pregnant." The last words were almost too quiet to hear.

Jan sighed, and pulled her into a hug.

"Whose is it? Is it Will's?" She asked, wondering whether that was the reason for their breakup.

"It's mine..." she whispered.

Back at the ED, Will was onto the last hour of his shift. The day had been a good one- sleep really did seem to make the world right. Catching sight of Ethan, he ran up to him.

"Hey Ethan!" He called.

Ethan turned around. "Oh, hi Will."

"Do you want to go to the pub later...?" Will asked, not sure where their friendship was at- he thought that they were good, but he wasn't sure.

"Ok, sure," Ethan agreed.

"Great, I'll see you later then!" Will called as he walked away.

Then he remembered the call. He had been on his break, just sitting in the staff room, not really knowing what to do, when his phone had starting ringing. He had to check the name twice- he couldn't really believe it was her. Perhaps there was a chance they could get back...

He'd let it ring for a couple of seconds before accepting it, and cautiously said,

"Hello?"

No sooner than he had said that one word, the line had quickly gone dead.

Thinking the connection might have gone, or she'd accidentally pressed a wrong button, he tried to call her back. Twice it went straight through to voicemail.

He sighed. Maybe she just wasn't ready to talk yet.

Fenisha had finally calmed down, and though Jan knew that the paramedic should probably go home, she doubted that she would even get that far. She wondered what to do.

From what Jan had gathered, she had slept with Ethan, then became Will's girlfriend. When she had found out she was pregnant, Will had basically said he couldn't be with her if she had the baby. She'd almost got rid of it after that but had decided against it in the end.

Jan hadn't worked out what had happened next, presumably something not good. She had to admit, she felt sorry for Fenisha- even if it was sort of her fault.

Just then, Fenisha's phone started ringing. She picked it up; it was Will. She couldn't face talking to him. Getting up, she was about to thank Jan, when all the blood rushed away from her head. The room span for a coupe of seconds, before she blacked out.
